What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use when sending out distribution files for key users
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times during key reporting dates where the system goes down making it slow or non responsive.

Workiva is a perfect product for compiling financial report.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the link function best: I can update the numbers in a master spreadsheet and publish to the links embodied in my financial report. This function make my work easier and trackable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There excel function is kind of limited. I didn't see the filter function and sort function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva helps me with the financial report compilation. It makes my work more consistancy each quarter.
Workiva holds all our companies most important controls with great navigating ease.
What do you like best about the product?
reporting and dashboards help present clear information to all levels of management. Additionally the ability to setup reminders helps our team stay focused and on task.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful part has been knowing how much time is spent on each control. It would be great to have a time clock for our team to understand which part of the process is taking too long (I.e. doc requests, management response, etc).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem that Workiva is helping is with the reporting of statuses. Everyone knows many leaders love data sliced and diced to their preference. Workiva allows us to dissect our data and present it clearly.

What do you like best about the product?
The inputting of data is very user friendly, I like the "excel" abilities. Customer service has been helpful. I like the ability to work back and forth between pages. Ability to set up permissions etc. is very useful as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not as easy to find an answer to a question. The on line support documents are not always directed at the FERC Form pages that we use.
Lack of understanding XBRL issues is also a problem. We are able to get the issues resolved but always do not understand why there was a problem and what to do if it happens again.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not sure how to answer this. I think more information needs to be provided by Workiva if they are unable to resolve an issue - it may be an issue with FERC, but if we don't know that, we continue to ask the question.

Once our filings are set up, it's very easy to rollforward each quarter and helps our team keep efficient in our review of the documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
There manual rollforward from Q3 to Q1 is always a little difficult each year.

Love Workiva for financial reporting!
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is a fantastic tool for those of us in financial reporting. The ability to link data between documents is a time saver and lets you know that your work is consistent. It is also valuable when pairing the data with internal reporting - you can rollforward data period over period to save time when you get to quarterly reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve when you first start. For the most part, Workiva is intuitive and user friendly, but there are some instances when you want to format things a certain way and can run into issues. However, I've always received great customer service and they have lots of content on how to address most issues.

I believe that Workiva is working to continuosly make their software even more user friendly. They are always open to feedback and consistently address items their clients bring to their attention which is unlike most companies.
Workiva is a good platform to use.

Saves on printer costs and is easy to use with 24 hour helpline.

The downsides are formatting issues and issues with importing tables.

What do you like best about the product?
Live chat support is my favorite feature. Additionally, the customer representatives assigned to our company provide very timely responses outside of technical issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that my company users often have difficulty logging in to Workiva. The system can be slow as well. And when live chat support is not available, I could not find a way to leave a support request despite the link that offers this feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is an all-in-one platform for my SOX accounting needs. It is simple to navigate and stores significant data. The all in one feature is imperative. I would suggest Workiva refines their spreadsheet view, however, as their version of Excel lacks necessary features, is difficult to view, and is extremely clunky. Overall, though, I am happy with Wdesk.
User friendly and helpful technical support
What do you like best about the product?
The software is very user friendly and intuitive. It is easy to organize documents and XBRL facts and easy to submit the SEC filing. Tehcnical support chat & call center is always super responsive and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe the SEC filing formating. For example, when the cover page and content shown on a word document are centered/aligned, the actual EDGAR formatting would look different when we upload the word document through Workiva, and the margin/layout might be distorted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to utilize Workiva to file all the required filings to SEC by ourselves, without having to use external counsel or financial service providers. It is time-saving and cost saving.
Workiva is a purpose built financial reporting tool that works.
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva does a great job of bringing the best features of Word and Excel and integrating them into one tool. Workiva then adds some neat workflow features that allow teams to collaborate in one file simultaneously. We previously wrote our 10-Q and 10-K documents in a Word document which caused us to have version control issues and a lack of collaboration, and it took significantly longer to produce these documents. Workiva solved all of these issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a lot to dislike about the product. They are always making improvements to the product and listening to users needs on the message boards. One issue we have sometimes is that the blackline versions compared to prior periods are very loud and messy. One place where Workiva would do better is to add additional training to the optimization of the Spreadsheet and rolling forward documents from quarter to quarter. Some have created very complex formulas to automatically do this but Workiva doesn't currently offer any solutions in the Marketplace.

Workiva allows multiple users to edit the document all at one time. Workiva also enables you to create milestones to eliminate version control issues and allows you to blackline to show the changes that have occurred easily. Workiva also has an easy linking system that allows you to link numbers and dates so that there are fewer worries of potential mistakes. Workiva will enable you to work on the document up until the filing date without any costly fees for overnight returns of your document.
