Financial Reporting Time Saver
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is fantastic for ensuring document consistency and quick updates. There's nothing more challenging than try to ensure consistency across documents for rounding or late adjustments but with WDesk this is made easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool has evolved a lot since the first generation. Sometimes new features are launched and require some tweaks to work in the new features continuously to ensure an optimized experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Preparing filing documents in a cross-team manner all at once and ensuring document consistency for both figures and text. The tool makes it easy to roll forward documents between quarters
Love Workiva
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva has been extremely user-friendly. Processes are clear, there are instructions, staff is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
When compared to another unnamed competitor, Workiva does not provide a full "white-glove" service (e.g. I cannot ask Workiva staff to double space after each period or ensure all font is consistent).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They provide a SEC service - I am an SEC analyst so it does exactly what I need.

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive interface. Relational database so data can be reviewed, mapped, analyzed, graphed, and reported on throughout the database. Cloud-based application that can be used anywhere. Request module allows for efficient tracking of requests and workflow allows easy approval and rejection; request supporting documentation then flows into workpapers. Timely support of application errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The application can lag at times making it frustruating to document within. Many opportunities for workflows are utilized, i.e. deficiency remediation, integrated risk module workpaper reviews, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problem that Workiva is assisting in solving is the ability to administer, monitor, test, and report on our audit and ICFR framework in one place.

What do you like best about the product?
The user -friendly links updates. It makes the rollover to the next period easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Time to time it logged me out. Formatting is sometimes a challenge when converting to pdf

Awesome cloud based software for financial reporting
What do you like best about the product?
The linking between the spreadsheet to the text documents. This makes it extremely easy to update the financial statements if I have changes to make in the spreadsheet. Also decreases mistakes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some Excel functions are not found in the spreadsheet in Workiva. For example, there's no pivot function so at times makes it difficult to aggregate information as quickly as Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva has a helpdesk that is quick to respond and they are working on adding new functions all the time, which is great.
Linking numbers across documents makes my life so much easier!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to link numbers across the document so it reduces the risk of internal consistency errors and makes it easier to update numbers throughout the document rather than having to update in multiple places.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't thnk of many downsides other than there is a little bit of a learning curve to take full advantage of Workiva's functionality, but the help guides and community provides a good resource for figuring things out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our entire financial reporting process was in Word before implementing Workiva and we had major issues with version control and Workiva solved all of that for us.
Workiva is a powerful platform for auditors that is growing more each day.

I like the ability to markup documents in the platform as evidence.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that there are so many different stipulations regarding data types and objects within the platform.

Workiva works to connect the auditors and process owners to simplify the process of completing an audit.

Overall Workiva is very beneficial in helping our team organize, edit and maintain our financial statements

The forumlas can error out at times and it's difficult to find the source of the error

What do you like best about the product?
Workiva helps make everything so much faster, easier and more accurate. I love the automation features. Now my time is focused on review versus prep!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the task & review feature to be built out more. For SEC reporting, it would be great to send a task to a reviewer through Workiva with a link to the document. The reviewer could sign off and add comments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is taking out the manual error of something just being fat fingered incorrectly in the document. I have more reliance in the document since it is linked.
