Great tool for SEC filings
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is very intuitive and easy to manage
What do you dislike about the product?
We probably aren't utilizing all functionality, but so far nothing we dislike

We can draft and review SEC filings very easily and efficiently.

Tracked changes are easier to follow. Creates better communication on the team

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, ability to collaborate across teams in a more efficient matter.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some things that aren't as intuitive or user friendly to figure out, but I love that I can always reach out to my rep if I have questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're an all remote team and Workiva makes our review and collaboration process so much easier. I love the attachments functionality as well - no need for a hard copy external binder when it can all be online!
Workiva for SEC Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
Linking - only having to update a number that appears in the financials multiple times once
What do you dislike about the product?
Understanding XBRL tagging (i.e. when an item should be tagged or not)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Version control - being able to have multiple people update same areas at same time
overall good, still new so still a lot to learn and feel comfortable using this new system

the link function and comment function is my favorite so far. Also the version control is very useful
What do you dislike about the product?
connected files such as spreadsheet, presentations, and documents are not as user friendly. It doesn't have all the same features and usability as Microsoft applications which is frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
our team main problem is collaboration and w-desk has really helped us with this.

ease of use, ability to work concurrently with others, ease of keeping track of comments and blacklines
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have the option to choose when to share an update/or if it is automatic, that the history shows multiple updates (say every half hour), rather than one update per day.

SEC reporting and certifications for disclosure committee; both have saved a lot of time once they were implemented properly

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the tools explained in the workshop and the tips and tricks shared.
What do you dislike about the product?
I thought the training was great- I don't think I would change anything.

Solving issues like tracking certifications has been very useful and time saving!
Workiva Review
What do you like best about the product?
We implemented wData this year. Using API connectors and automated workflows have saved our team hours, if not days, or work. wData is easy to set up, even for someone with no coding / SQL background. With the power of Workiva's linking features, the vast majority of our financial statements and disclosures are automatically calculated and refreshed within minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The underlying spreadsheets used to populate our documents is very laggy and slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My Company is using Workiva for SEC reporting purposes. Workiva makes it incredibly streamlined for this process.
Simplifies the Drudgery to Allow Time for More Analytical Work
What do you like best about the product?
Linking data across documents revolutionized my work output. I produce the budget document for my community. Getting leaders to finalize decisions can be hard, so there are often last-minute changes that need to ripple through multiple sections. That used to be a pain-staking, time-consuming issue. But with Workiva, I can make the change, Publish it, and know that the changes will be made consistently throughout my documents and tables, and I can easily confirm that they've been made before proceeding. That has shaved weeks off a previously very manual, cumbersome process.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can take a while to fully grasp the strategies for how to set-up a document and linked spreadsheets, and that initial set-up can be time-consuming, but it is worthwhile to reap the benefits of a fully linked process in the end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is easier to share current drafts with end-users, and update actual data and disseminate it across the organization. The security function allows users access when they need it, but their editing function can be disabled as the final document is wrapped up. Finally, we replaced a cumbersome Access database with a Workiva process, and have received rave reviews from all involved.
Great software for SEC reporting
What do you like best about the product?
The collaboration and having one single source document, no version control issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the switch to Next Gen platform a lot functionality is missing or in progress. There are a lot of kinks to be worked out.

Version controls issues and collaboration.
