It is very easy for my team to work together using Workiva.

Our IA division has transitioned to Workiva for workpaper storage, in addition to controls testing. Much easier to use for testing than Excel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Remember to check with your administrator for opportunities to improve certain aspects of the Workdesk application for your team/organization.
Easy, dependable, and reliable.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use for not just me being an admin, but for all of the other users throughout the company that need to use it for certifications and other services. I don't need to walk everyone through how to navigate or perform certain tasks, as Workiva is easy to use and helps explain those tasks out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have been happy with Workiva for years now. The only real downside that I have noticed is the Certifications tool not being linked to my SOX control database. As a result, I have to go in separately and update any certifications manually if they have been updated or deleted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization of our SOX control database, and the ease of updating any and all SOX documents in one place. Also allowing myself and everyone to access controls, control descriptions, and control ownership all in one place so that it can be easily referenced when needed. For the updating of documents, Wdesk allows the ability to link and ensure that once a change is made once, it is reflected in all other linked documents so that manual changes do not have to occur multiple times.
Automatic selections of cloud connections are supported with workiva.

Workiva cn be extremely slow at times and the system is not intuitive; there are unnecessary clicks to navigate to approvals

PSP storage with built-in workflows that provides a great history log for audit purposes

Will you be storing PSP documents within Workiva or elsewhere? Workiva is best for document collaboration and its built in approval workflows

What do you like best about the product?
It was very tough for me to collect the data and to compile the data manually, sometimes it was full of mistakes and I had too much work load that cross checking was a great issue for me. Then I came across this software and now I am a happy and satisfied customer. It has automated the import of the data from the systems and helps in assuring the accuracy of my reports. It is a great tool and now our finance department and our procurement department are taking much benefit from this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you keep so much data arranged on place it becomes difficult at the time of need to get the right document you have to spend time in searching. Moreover there is nothing big issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It controls all the issues that we were facing in documentation, spread sheets and presentation because of its cloud based functionalities. Now our teams easily collaborate regarding content controlling; in this way we have managed our time beautifully. Via this tool we can easily track the progress of our projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool in for large and moderate organizations in which team work is mostly done and many people have to cross check and fill the data and it is so much suitable for financing and to handle overall processing of data.
We absolutely LOVE Wdesk
What do you like best about the product?
There are so many great things about WDesk. I think the most important feature, currently, is the ability to track any & all changes made, and keep a good audit trail (all within WDesk) detailing what changes were made and why.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing so far that I dislike is that you're unable to run multiple instances of the program/application. I work in accounting and we use WDesk for our quarterly 10-Q reports, so one thing I'd like to be able to do, for example, is have the prior quarter report open on one of my computer screens (for reference) and have the current quarter's report open on the other. WDesk won't allow this use of multiple tabs - you have to switch between the documents/exhibits within the same window, which can be a little tricky/overwhelming at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our financial reporting team uses WDesk for our quarterly 10-Q reports. We have a Project set up for each quarter, and save all related documents (and our workbook) in there. It's great to have a seperate "Workbook" file for all your calculations, tables,and notes - I love being able to keep a little more messy "working version," which in my mind keeps all the messy details very "behind the scenes" and you don't have to worry about junking up the final product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I seriously LOVE WDesk, and would definitely recommend that anyone give it a try. I think it's especially useful for accounting & finance departments. My department, specifically, is Financial Reporting and this application is *wonderful* for our uses - it keeps great audit trails, great organization, great everything!! Literally the only issue I've encountered (the only "con" I can describe) is the inability to use two different tabs or two different browsers to view 2 different WDesk projects on seperate computer monitors. WDesk does keep each project (and each "Exhibit" within the project) on its own tab *within* WDesk, which is nice to use a familiar format, but functionality could be a little better if they allowed multiple instances per user; that would make a BIG difference to me personally. All told, I give WDesk a very strong 10 out of 10!!! Best accounting software I've used in any organization, seriously. I'm impressed.
Significant time and cost saver
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to do XBRL in house. Not only the cost savings but the flexibility. The ability to make last minute changes and not compromise SEC filing deadlines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just the initial learning curve. Once I got past that, I didn't have any complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Had used it to handle all SEC filings in house. Savings was both cost as well as efficiency.

Make sure you have the right internal resource willing to embrace the tool and really understand it.
Must Have for Financial Statements Preparation and Review
What do you like best about the product?
The linking functionality gives me comfort that numbers used are accurate. I only update one source file and all linked destinations are automatically updated. The permissions settings and customization are useful for control purposes to limit who has access to what information. The review functionality (Blacklines and review comments) and Tasks Lists are all useful when working with multiple users as I can assign and reassign tasks and comments.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be slow to load in my internet browser.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows for controls on the numbers that flow into the financial statements. Allows for multiple editors and permissions. Allows for documents to be saved in one place and is easily searchable..

Spend time to set up templates and sheets correctly in the first place.
