Incredibly easy to learn!
What do you like best about the product?
The learning curve is pretty good! Started using it in Jan 2022 and was able to figure out most functions within a week or two. It is intuitive, and the help section fills in the gaps.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the downsides is requiring app support to add new audit phases or additional fields etc. Adding an option for users to do that will help cut down turnaround time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aids with creating flowcharts and yearly updates, SOX testing, FS review etc. Reports are good, too - especially the risk to control matrix.

currently helping us with mobile capabilities, which we desperately need for our C-Suite
Workiva is the best financial reporting tool
What do you like best about the product?
What's not to like? Completely cloud-based, edit history, different views to see details when reviewing, ability to customize access to view and edit based on specific users or groups of people. We use this for our reporting and it seamlessly allows us to create financial statement footnotes and leverage aspects for other reporting purposes to ensure consistency.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not come with pivot tables. If it did we would be able to do so much more in this tool. There are other improvement opportunities such as allowing filters in document sections based on label color which would simplify reviewing,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps ensure we have accurate financial reporting. Users with knowledge can enter and review their sections and know their responsibilities and deadlines with the certifications tool.
Increased efficiency on financial statement preparation
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva has streamlined our financial statement preparation process through its different features. It has also allowed for a standardized template for all our financial statements.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't many downsides to Workiva. Sometimes the worksheets can be slow due to the amount of data. Also, there are a few features that Excel has that Workiva is missing but they would be nice to haves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is allowing us to prepare our financial statements in a more efficient manner. It reduces both time and error through its features such as linking and being able to use things like a Consistency Checker.

What do you like best about the product?
Lets my team and me edit the same document in real time, so no version-control headaches, just smooth, synchronized collaboration.
The XBRL integration is a lifesaver during crunch time; regulatory filings that once felt daunting are now almost routine.
I use Wdesk several times a day, and its stability means I rarely worry about crashes or lost work.
It has robust access-permission settings that allow me share sensitive documents confidently, ensuring only the right eyes see the right data.
Customer support has been stellar; whenever I get stuck, clear and timely guidance gets me back on track fast.

Steep learning curve: mastering advanced linking, tagging, and navigation still takes me a lot of trial and error, and onboarding required outside consulting help.
Interface overwhelm: the UI feels cluttered with lots of clicks in and out of windows, so quick edits don’t feel as intuitive as other tools (e.g. Google Docs).
The 'processes' and 'tasks' functionality is very basic for our needs. It only allows one preparer and one reviewer but sometimes we have multiple levels of review. Additionally, it does allow a review to re-assign the task or add comments as to why they reject or deny a task.
While I value the functionality, the increasing subscription costs are becoming harder to justify, especially for smaller budgets or lighter use-cases.
While the support reps are great, I’d rely on them less if the manuals and tutorials were more more detailed.

Overall, what used to be a stressful, error-prone process is now faster, more accurate, and far less of a headache.

Workiva works slickly and is always improving.
What do you like best about the product?
The software is very well established. XBRL works pretty smoothly. We can use the software for both 10K and 10Q filings and FERC.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are not utilizing all of the spreadsheet features. We can't have just one Workiva page for 10Qs and FERC, so it is harder to copy paste everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everyone in our company is able to update FERC when we give them access now. We have a well designed filing.
Automated FS creation tool
What do you like best about the product?
linking feature between excel and word versions of document. and ability to import data from external sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to highlight. all is working well.

Creating FS in a short period of time. automation and scalability is helping us achieving short FS timelines.
Workiva SOX & Audit
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva has helped me seamlessly review audit testing templates
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when we need additional workspaces or connectors that we have to pay individually. I would like a Workiva package where we can purchase the entirety of the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are improving on our overall visibility of control and regulatory audit work. Assisting in creating easier and faster status reporting and the ability to edit data quickly.
Huge difference in filing time
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva has great tools to link data and build out the underlying workbooks. This allows for efficiency when updating the file and reduced risk as numbers can be linked.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want tools to format more complex graphs used in the Proxy. Even if we choose not to file the Proxy directly in wdesk there are graphs we can't review until a printer creates them for us. They are graphs we can do within PowerPoint or excel, just not within Wdesk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva has simplified all of our external reporting processes, which my team is responsible for. It has made the process more efficient so that we can focus on other areas.
