What do you like best about the product?
I use Workiva as a centralized platform to manage reporting, compliance, and collaboration across financial, risk, and regulatory workflows. It helps by bringing together data from multiple sources into a single, controlled environment where teams can work simultaneously without version control issues. I like how seamlessly it enables collaboration while maintaining accuracy and control. The ability for multiple team members to work on the same report at the same time without worrying about version conflicts is a huge advantage. I appreciate the built-in audit trails and change tracking, which provide transparency and confidence during reviews and audits. The way data stays connected across reports and documents helps ensure consistency and reduces manual updates. Workiva simplifies complex reporting, improves teamwork, and helps maintain a high level of accuracy and accountability. The collaboration features and audit trails are incredibly valuable, eliminating back-and-forth emails and version confusion, saving time and frustration. These features create a transparent and controlled environment where teams can collaborate confidently, reduce errors, and ensure that reports are accurate, compliant, and easy to review.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Workiva is very powerful, there are a few areas that could be improved. At times, the platform can feel a bit complex for new users, especially when navigating advanced reporting features or setting up intricate workflows. Some of the reporting and formatting options could be more flexible, allowing for faster customization without having to spend extra time adjusting layouts or connections. Additionally, handling very large datasets or highly complex reports can occasionally slow down performance. Simplifying the interface for advanced tasks, enhancing customization options, and optimizing performance for large reports would make Workiva even more efficient and user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Workiva to manage reporting, compliance, and collaboration, centralizing data to eliminate version control issues. It streamlines complex reporting tasks, improves accuracy, and reduces errors. With Workiva, I maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure consistent, transparent collaboration with stakeholders.
Effortless File Consolidation and Responsive Support
What do you like best about the product?
It consolidates all of the “junk” from multiple places into one location; so I am no longer running around trying to find all of my files. Templates are okay for the forecast portions. The consolidated feature is better than our old method of doing things. They will respond when something breaks which has been a nice surprise since I was expecting they would completely ignore me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data processing speeds are terrible and it takes an eternity to run a template. It takes 18 months for basic updates to occur and that is absolutely ridiculous and very slow. My major complaint with this product is the fact that subline items in the planning section are not displayed in the reporting area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
While my elbow continues to hit the cold coffee mug on my desk at least the month-end closing process is not a complete disaster. We have eliminated a full-time employee because the time spent manually collecting data is gone. For the first time ever, the budget variance is accurate. I never thought that would happen.
Effortless Team Tracking and Automated Ledger Integration
What do you like best about the product?
Right now my head is pounding but at least this program shows me the exact team member who is causing a delay in closing the books without me needing to send them an email. And since it does pull the general ledger balance automatically, I won't need to spend hours every month copying the same information over from netsuite.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it frustrating that I have to contact a salesperson to obtain a quote price for this product. Also, I don't like that I cannot change the options myself and I need to contact an administrator to do it and it wastes both of our time since I only needed to make a small adjustment to a checklist.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since we've reduced the amount of time spent on closing the books, I am able to take some weekends off as well. And because the dashboard turns red if the team isn't organized, it has forced the team members to be more organized and overall this product replaced all of our messy excel spreadsheets used for tracking.

What do you like best about the product?
Workiva integrates with systems like Workday and automates repetitive tasks, allowing teams to focus on analysis rather than data entry. Live linking across reports ensures consistency and reduces human error.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced automation features require training, which can take time for new users.

It reduces manual work, speeds up reporting, and enhances accuracy, making complex financial and audit processes much easier to manage.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is clean and intuitive, allowing teams to adopt it quickly. Uploading documents and making edits feels familiar for anyone used to Word or Excel. The customer support team is responsive and helpful

Real-time edits can feel slightly slower than desktop applications, especially with large documents.

It improves document management, collaboration, and overall reporting efficiency, while maintaining strong audit trails.
Outstanding Linking Features Enhance Workflow

I like the linking features in Workiva the most.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more keyboard shortcuts from Excel that I could replicate.

Workiva gives our team the opportunity to collaborate in real time. It allows us to be more efficient while simultaneously working remote.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Workiva's collaboration features. These features are exceptional because they allow multiple people to work on the same document simultaneously without disrupting each other's workflow, which significantly enhances teamwork and productivity. Additionally, the audio track feature is another aspect I enjoy, as it combines with the collaboration tools to provide complete control and visibility over projects. This ensures that we can efficiently manage our tasks while maintaining clear communication and oversight.
What do you dislike about the product?

Excellent Documentation, But Finding Past Submissions Is Challenging

Great documentation of control procedures and owners, easy to use and it has a nice dashboarding environment

Hard to view/find previously submitted control requests

Mainly used for auditing and working with third party consulting firms to ensure the company is meeting governance and audit requirements in different departments

The user interface is very friendly, which made the setup process surprisingly smooth despite an initial learning curve. The support team has been incredibly helpful, providing great assistance when needed. Workiva has significantly improved collaboration within my team by enabling real-time updates, commenting, tagging, and shared access. The automatic audit trail feature that logs every change is phenomenal, as it enhances both compliance and transparency. I am particularly fond of the prebuilt templates for financial reporting that are aligned with industry regulations, as they save time and ensure consistency. Additionally, the platform's ability to integrate seamlessly with various data sources simplifies publishing financial data without issues. Overall, Workiva has proven to be an essential tool, offering key benefits like real-time collaboration, integration capabilities, user-friendliness, strong support, and efficient data management.

What do you like best about the product?
Since its implementation, I have appreciated the data linking feature, particularly because updates are reflected across all reports, notes, and compliance documents. The reduction in closing time and the significant decrease in manual registration are also excellent benefits that I value in Workiva.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a good tool but I think the investment can be very high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool has been essential for helping us confidently comply with complex regulations, transforming the way we handle financial close and audit management by connecting these processes more effectively. It also enables us to address the new Carbon Accounting requirements in a manner that is fully auditable. Overall, it is excellent, significantly boosting both our efficiency and our ability to meet regulatory compliance.
