workiva for consolidation
What do you like best about the product?
Compilation of multiple units, consistency of data presentation across units
What do you dislike about the product?
There are different levels of licensed access and sometimes the person who needs to do something does not have the correct license.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidation of units. It is great for making all of the input data consistent and pulling it together in a consolidated format.

What do you like best about the product?
Multiple user at one time. If excel somehow make it multiple user friendly, Wdesk would be obsolete. That is honestly the only reason why we decided to use their service in the first place
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything. I'm actually shocked at the five stars reviews. What are you guys getting that we are not?
I understand Workiva is still working to perfect their products but listen to your customers if you still developing. We use Wdesk for Audit function. Things I very much dislike:
1. Access. The same people with same access level doesnt have access to certain stuff but the other people with same access are able to get into things.
2. Miscommunication on access level. They told us these access level can do this and that but when we try it wont let us. Sometimes it feels their own employees don't understand their own product.
3. Workiva doesnt understand what audit is and our needs. They also don't listen and upload the wrong items.
4. We can't submit our testing when finished. All fields are filled out and cant submit testing for review. We don't know what trigger the "send for review". When we change the status to "testing complete...reviewable" it doesnt trigger to the reviewer.
5. Since we cant do most of the functions. They have become a bottleneck of a system, our work is on hold because we can't perform these functions. They also don't respond to email fast enough.

How the software allows for multiplier users to be working in the same document at one time
What do you dislike about the product?
If a user isn't that familiar with the software, they may open up a presentation or other document, make a minor change, and then log off the program (or time out of) without sharing the change. The document is then locked until the admin can somehow unlock.

Huge time savings with the ability to process updates on the fly

The business problems skills W desk helps with is focusing on the areas management needs to concentrate or highlight KPI's

offer more inhouse training. Not easily understood

The ability for multiple users to come together and work on one project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see faster calculations and availability to use more data in the workbooks. It seems to slow down when too much is entered and spreadsheets is still working out its bugs.

We use it for internal reporting and filing with the SEC.

Wdesk really is a great tool for internal and external reporting. I would highly recommend it.
Exceptional product and service
What do you like best about the product?
Linking capabilities, group collaboration and document review options are outstanding
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing model is cumbersome and can make it difficult to properly scale for the entire process since some members of the process make very small contributions to the reporting process, though obtaining a license for them must be done at the same cost as someone who uses the solution for nearly 100% of their job. I understand they're revisiting their pricing model for non-Financial Reporting functions (i.e. accounting close, internal audit, etc.), but that they continue to use the old, more expensive model for financial reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Linking between the document and workbook, block linking from one document to another (helpful for preparing something like an earnings release), document collaboration with ability to attach supporting documentation into the document/workbook (essentially combines Word, Excel, Network drive for saving support and Email for review/questions) into a single and simple solution) and collaborative review portal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I couldn't say enough about WDesk. In all seriousness, I love the product enough that I've thought about approaching them to join their sales team because I believe it's a huge value creator in businesses using other solutions.

Collaborative and Streamlined Presentations with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that once you get a template on Workiva, I do not have to go back and adjust all of the inputs once they are done. We use Workiva to allow multiple people to work on decks all at once and set up a common template.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the formatting could be improved to work more easily. It took a bunch of time and was not the easiest to implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Workiva for presentations, allowing multiple people to work on decks simultaneously and set up a common template. I like that once a template is made, I don't have to adjust all inputs. Some formatting could be improved.
