Efficient Data Linking and Time Savings, But High Investment
What do you like best about the product?
Since its implementation, I have appreciated the data linking feature, particularly because updates are reflected across all reports, notes, and compliance documents. The reduction in closing time and the significant decrease in manual registration are also excellent benefits that I value in Workiva.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a good tool but I think the investment can be very high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool has been essential for helping us confidently comply with complex regulations, transforming the way we handle financial close and audit management by connecting these processes more effectively. It also enables us to address the new Carbon Accounting requirements in a manner that is fully auditable. Overall, it is excellent, significantly boosting both our efficiency and our ability to meet regulatory compliance.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Workiva primarily for financial reporting over the past six months, and it has greatly simplified my work processes. The initial setup was straightforward, with an easy installation process and an intuitive interface that made adapting to the software seamless. The customer support team was extremely helpful during the setup, smoothing out potential challenges. Workiva's ability to automate data connections has streamlined my reporting tasks, leading to significant improvements in workflow efficiency by saving time and reducing errors, thereby resulting in more reliable reports. The collaborative tools and real-time data linking features are invaluable, as they enhance team coordination and data accuracy. Furthermore, Workiva's seamless integration with other tools I use, like Asana for project management, ensures a cohesive working environment. The excellent customer support further adds value to the overall experience, making it a product I would consider repurchasing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel the customization options for reports in Workiva are somewhat limited. Sometimes, the templates feel repetitive, and I wish there was more flexibility to create more personalized reports.

Previously, GIA used multiple disconnected platforms , which created inefficiencies in planning, execution, reporting, and knowledge sharing.
Efficient Regulatory Reporting with Traceability, but Costly Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Workiva for four years and find it invaluable for regulatory reporting, particularly for annual investor reports. It's incredibly useful for managing proprietary report reporting due to its strong traceability features. It eliminates the need for manual reconciliation across documents by linking data from the source of truth seamlessly. The role feature is indispensable, simplifying the process of quarterly closings by linking and formatting data from previous reports with just a click. Workiva integrates well with our ERP system and BlackLine for account closing, validating data efficiently. The SOC control feature is particularly beneficial, ensuring easy compliance which was challenging with office stalls. Its ability to centralize numerous data points and reduce team stress by managing complaints and risks is noteworthy. Additionally, the scalability of Workiva is impressive and highly valued, ensuring it grows with our evolving needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found the biggest challenge with Workiva to be the migration of data logic, which required intensive effort and time commitment to correctly define all master numbers from our source systems to integrate properly. Additionally, I think the cost associated with data connectivity and the ease of integration with new ERPs could be improved. These factors make the process more cumbersome than it needs to be.

I find Workiva provides traceability to a source of truth, eliminating the need to manually reconcile numbers across documents, reducing errors, and minimizing team stress.
Huge time-saver and intuitive software but comes at a cost
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is slick and intuitive. The software itself is easy to pick up and understand. The ability to store key data within the system and then have documents link back to the data is a huge time and sanity saver. The team was able to get us set up and using the system within days of signing the order form.
What do you dislike about the product?
While customer support can be very helpful, there are certain forms that they will not assist with despite the hefty price tag.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva greatly simplifies the process of filing documents with the SEC over the traditional printer route. The ability to link data to a "spreadsheet" allows for mass updates of data rather than manually trawling through the document.
Excellent Linking Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite functionality is the linking capability so in a long document if you have a figure in multiple locations, if you need to update it you only need to use the reference point, as opposed to going through the entirety of a document and changing every instance.
What do you dislike about the product?
In excel I am able to highlight a group of cells and then right click and there is a "clear contents" button which doesn't delete the actual cells, just clears them. I wish they also had this in workiva.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The collaboration and smooth implementation of our company's annual sustainability report.
Effortlessly User-Friendly Solution for Auditing
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Workiva's user-friendly interface, which makes the software very easy to work with on a daily basis. The efficiency it brings to our auditing tasks is notable, streamlining the process of passing tasks back and forth between team members effectively. It's fantastic for warehousing information, making data easily retrievable whenever needed. Furthermore, it helps upload and manage documentation associated with tasks seamlessly. My company finds it incredibly valuable for its auditing capabilities, and I've only heard good things about it from my colleagues. I am confident in its utility to such an extent that I would rate it a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 for recommendation.

Great Features, But Navigation Could Be More Intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to link everything, the sync feature, relatively easy to use, customer support team is great and very helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes finding specific tools or formatting documents is not very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am aware that they have been making significant advancements with AI, and I am looking forward to trying it out. I hope it will help me streamline and improve the efficiency of my current processes.

It is versatile and able to support multiple functions such as audit support and ESG.

It is a new tool and not one that is used on a daily basis which creates a learning curve.
