Worst technical support I have ever experienced.
What do you like best about the product?
The product gets the job done but reporting and document tracking within the product is not good.
What do you dislike about the product?
The technical support has been some of the worst I have ever experienced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
FERC quarterly and annual reporting.
Room for improvement in certain areas to enhance the overall user experience.

The markup function in Workiva is intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Handling large files can be challenging and could benefit from performance improvements.

Customizable test forms would enhance flexibility and better meet individual project needs.
Workiva Makes Our SEC Filing Painless
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva's ability to track updates and allow multiple users to edit the file at once makes us more efficient in reviews. The ability to link numbers from a spreadsheet into the narrative saves us hours in tie-out as well. The integration with our proxy service is so easy as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have any dislikes about Workiva.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva helps us keep track of our mountain of disclosures as we evolve.
Great SOX and Audit software!
What do you like best about the product?
Helps us be more efficient and productive. Easy to use and great customer service - having our own representative is super helpful and allows us to customize certain reports or dashboards easier. It was an easy implementation that we did ourselves with Workiva (no additional third party).
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any cloud service provider, occasional outages that interrupt service. However, Workiva usually does a great job of getting back online quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating our audit testing and simplifying duplication of efforts. We can update control wording in one spot and it is pushed/linked to all other areas. Easy dashboards show exactly our status and tracking vs. having to do that manually. Sharing with External Audit so they can go in and see status, pull in details for their testing, etc. makes it less administrative for us to resend to them directly.
A great tool continuously improved and well supported
What do you like best about the product?
With reasonable implementation efforts, Workiva enables teams to produce higher-quality draft filings sooner and faster. Time savings compound each year. The platform fosters cross-functional collaboration and preserves documentary support of filings. Workiva empowers us to make life a little easier for our future selves.
What do you dislike about the product?
Workiva (the company) could do a better job of supporting its champions in Legal Departments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The allocation of work between man and machine.
Workiva for Impact Report
What do you like best about the product?
We use Workiva to collaborate and draft our impact report. I like the comments/tagging interface and its ability to track changes. It seems to work better than a Word document. I also like the data point submission
What do you dislike about the product?
We wanted to use Workiva for CDP disclosure but found we weren't able to. Also I find it confusing to navigate the home page and find the files that I'm tagged in

Workiva Platform Excels at Reporting for Management Control
What do you like best about the product?
The Workiva platform provides an excellent platform for financial reporting. It's ease of use for creating consolidated financial reports, ability to interface with excel-based data and its dexterity for constructing reporting documents for management use make it a central tool in the control of data. Its data warehouse quality also permits multiple users across various systems to access and share information frequently. Workiva is a tremendous improvement over our previous financial and management reporting systems and has led to significant efficiency gains.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not experienced significant issues with Workiva. Once implemented with any required customer support, it has been smooth sailing for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva has helped me solve the problem of retrieving multiple pieces of accounting and business information that are stored across various locations. By centralizing this information, making it easier to interpret, faster to retrieve and permitting sharing, this system has made my data recovery more reliable and faster.

Friendly user interface and support from Workiva staff.

Occasional errors and requires refreshing of the document.

All-in-one solution: more secure, more efficient, and a pleasure to use
What do you like best about the product?
I have used Workiva for several years across multiple companies—both as outside counsel and in-house counsel. I use Workiva on a near-daily basis, to draft, review and file countless 8-Ks, 10-Ks and 10-Qs, proxy statements, prospectuses and offering memoranda. It is truly an all-in-one solution for drafting, review and filing, eliminating inefficiencies and potential points of error that previously arose from trading drafts among multiple stakeholders and sending filings to a financial printer. The all-in-one nature of Workiva gives us peace of mind that sensitive information is more secure than it would be when sharing email drafts and using multiple third-party solutions.
The product is impressive. First, I’ve found Workiva is an invaluable tool for collaboration among internal finance, internal legal and outside counsel. Before using Workiva, questions would take days to resolve, waiting until the next turn of the document was emailed for review. That process also led to version control issues, repetitive questions and duplicated efforts. Now, questions are resolved quickly and efficiently through comment threads in Workiva, ensuring all parties are aligned, and eliminating time spent on emails or calls (and the associated expense of time billed by outside counsel). Second, I love the wide range of integrations and that all parties can view source workbooks, eliminating questions about how a figure was calculated and simplifying the tie-out process. Third, the ability to use Workiva’s interface to file directly rather than sending to a financial printer has reduced costs, time spent waiting for proofs, proofing and correcting errors. Finally, Workiva’s interface is relatively intuitive and simple to use. When I was outside counsel, it wasn't difficult to start using Workiva, even with no training or prior experience. If questions arose, the customer support I have received has been largely very prompt and helpful—far above the customer support received for other SaaS programs I use.

What do you dislike about the product?
For some types of documents, formatting can be challenging. Within the Workiva platform, it sometimes can be difficult to create the layouts desired in the SEC filing tool. That being said, I have always been able to tag in a Workiva specialist for formatting help, and within minutes, we can typically achieve the desired result. If not for this, the formatting difficulties would be a much bigger pain point. Another pain point is that downloads to Word format (which are requested by some stakeholders) often result in formatting and numbering changes. If this could be improved, it would help eliminate unnecessary questions and comments about issues that don't actually exist.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva eliminates disconnects between internal finance and internal legal in preparing SEC filings, which had previously been a source of inefficiencies and frustration. Time saved and efficient resolution of questions/concerns has made this function of my job run much more smoothly.
Workiva is Efficiency
What do you like best about the product?
It makes our quarterly and annual process so much easier to navigate and manage. It allows our team to work simultaneously on different parts of our document to increase efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not have the full capabilities that excel has, but it is very close.
