What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and adaptable. Great for controls data base & control testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Processes functionality for certifications should be able to delete letters completely from process after running. Would like to be able to access control stakeholders from the Overview tab withing test forms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all controls and test forms in one database as well as sending requests for documentation.

Experience using Workiva for External Reporting

What do you like best about the product?
Overall the system is easy to use and fairly user friendly. I like the collaboration capabilities and I also enjoy the ability to autosave, run previous versions, run blacklines and also the tracking capabilities for changes. I use Workiva for all of my external reports and use the program daily as it is an essential part of my work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Workiva can be very buggy. When it comes down to meeting our tight external reporting deadlines, it becomes very irritating to have to deal with glitches or bugs that affect performance. Example of these include: Link capabilities randomly not working (can't paste from a source link to a destination in another section), formatting issues (can't push footnotes to bottom of page, random blue highlights in document, spacing issues), issues with the task process, for example, the status of a task is still pending approval, despite the approver already approving. Exporting issues, limited capabilities to export the spreadsheet type documents landscape format, exporting reports with hidden rows. These are just some of the many glitches I have encountered using Workiva.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a collaborative environment where we can all work on and contribute to the external reporting documents.

What do you like best about the product?
We value Workiva's ability to automate data linking across reports, reducing manual errors and ensuring consistency in financial and regulatory filings.
We are impressed how the platform facilitates simultaneous editing by multiple users, enhancing teamwork and reducing version control issues.
We find Workiva's interface user-friendly, especially for those familiar with Microsoft Office products, easing the learning curve.
Alfred Botha and Jared Hayes have been excellent in guiding us through our first filings. There responsiveness and assistance in navigating complex features and resolving issues promptly has been vital.
Despite its user-friendly interface, there is a steep learning curve due to the platform's extensive features, but we are appreciative of Workiva’s support team.
As a team we may desire more customization options, such as data linking to our financial consolidation software (FCCS) and Oracle.
What do you dislike about the product?
The subscription costs are considered higher compared to some competitors.
Overall, we hold Workiva's SEC reporting platform with high regards for its automation, collaboration capabilities, and customer support, making it a valuable tool for our organization aiming to streamline its reporting processes.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use for uploading/editing documents for quarterly and annual reports and prompt customer support when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Additional XBRL guides/assistance would helpful.

Great tool for collaboration and cross document linking

What do you like best about the product?
I like that amounts and statements can be linked across sections and documents, and multiple users can work on a document simultaneously. This allows for better collaboration across documents and lower risk of document inconsistencies. I also like the XBRL tagging feature which makes XBRL more user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has become harder to get quick responses to important question, and our CSM is constantly changing. Also, if you contact support about an XBRL related question the first response is to try to sell an upgrade, when some issues are just due to Workiva being glitchy, and if you wait it later goes away on its own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to receive and respond to auditor questions real time, and keep history of comments and responses directly in the document, which saves time as previously all comments were sent across multiple e-mail chains which can be hard to track.

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to search for controls and create workflow matrices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working on documentation and uploading documentation can be very slow at times. Occasionally a tickmark I made will disappear and I will need to remark it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In testing SOX controls.

Excel is only "in platform" and cannot be worked in live in the desktop Microsoft excel app
