Effortless File Linking, But Shortcuts Differ from Excel
What do you like best about the product?
I like how interconnected I can make my files, and how I can update multiple documents with only one change.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the shortcuts that they have available differ from excel.

Workiva Enables More Mature Reporting Processes
What do you like best about the product?
The platform enables clear version control, as well as well-defined access restrictions and permissions. I also appreciate its built-in alignment with sustainability frameworks. A 20-minute training prepared data providers and approvers with the skills to complete their assigned tasks for the first time. We are much more confident we are able to get the right metrics to the right place in a more timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
The spreadsheet has rather limited formulas and overall capabilities.

Workiva is giving us confidence in our data and reporting process.
Complex Setup, But Effective Solution for Regulatory Challenges
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Workiva for about four years, and it has profoundly impacted our regulatory processes. The most valuable feature of Workiva is its data link key engine, which serves as the backbone of the software, providing a comprehensive view of data management. Workiva has made distributing spreadsheet tasks and maintaining consistency in figures between various reports seamless and automatic. This automated approach has dramatically reduced the time needed for public reporting, providing significant efficiency gains. The integration capabilities of Workiva with systems like our Oryn system are also noteworthy, as we can utilize the platform alongside other software without isolation. This integration has been crucial for us in simplifying complex tasks and improving the overall report and presentation accuracy for external records and board objectives.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found the setup process for Workiva to be quite rigorous and technically complex, which made it challenging due to its intensive resource demands. Additionally, I encountered issues with the user experience, particularly for administrators and configurators, which highlighted an area that could benefit from improvement. This has sometimes made managing the software more cumbersome than expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find that Workiva has enhanced consistency and automation in reporting, reducing the need for distributing spreadsheets and ensuring automatic updates for reports and presentations, assisting in reputation and compliance validation.
Great for SOX Organization, But Document Management Needs Caution

Working very well for organizing our SOX work.

Need to learn more about documents. It seems that you need to be careful or all of the control links will disappear.

Organizing our controls and control testing.
Workiva Streamlines PBC Requests, But Key Report Testing Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Using Workiva for PBC requests instead of email/excel as in previous years has cut down on the time spent by the SOX team significantly. The auto-reminders are super helpful! The team is able to check status every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an easier way to test key reports. Currently, I have a key reports listing under "documents" in my workspace, but to test them, I have to add them as key controls which is really inefficient and does not provide for easy tracking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva makes it really easy to keep track of all SOX program deliverables including PBC requests, process flows, testing, and remediation. I love that I can mass upload PBC requests and the tool automatically reminds business process owners, so I'm not having to waste time sending up multiple follow-up emails.
Since there are minimum sample sizes by control each year, I'm able to set the testing schedule up before testing even begins. It keeps everyone on task.

Great Collaboration and Version Control, But Some Features are Non-Intuitive

It enables all the authors of our proxy statement to work simultaneously without version control problems

What do you like best about the product?
Workiva offers strong security features and customizable dashboards that make it easier to tailor the platform to specific reporting and collaboration needs. These features help streamline workflows and provide confidence in data integrity.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface can sometimes feel unintuitive, especially when navigating between modules or setting up new reports. While it’s functional, there’s a bit of a learning curve that could be smoothed out with better design or onboarding.

Workiva helps simplify and centralize our social sustainability reporting process. By providing secure data management and customizable dashboards, it reduces manual work and improves collaboration across teams. This has made it easier to track progress, ensure consistency, and meet reporting deadlines with greater confidence.

The linkage between Excel and Presentation is difficult to update. Also In presentation you can't simply unhide single row, have to open remaining
