Great for SOX Organization, But Document Management Needs Caution

Working very well for organizing our SOX work.

Need to learn more about documents. It seems that you need to be careful or all of the control links will disappear.

Workiva Streamlines PBC Requests, But Key Report Testing Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Using Workiva for PBC requests instead of email/excel as in previous years has cut down on the time spent by the SOX team significantly. The auto-reminders are super helpful! The team is able to check status every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an easier way to test key reports. Currently, I have a key reports listing under "documents" in my workspace, but to test them, I have to add them as key controls which is really inefficient and does not provide for easy tracking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva makes it really easy to keep track of all SOX program deliverables including PBC requests, process flows, testing, and remediation. I love that I can mass upload PBC requests and the tool automatically reminds business process owners, so I'm not having to waste time sending up multiple follow-up emails.
Since there are minimum sample sizes by control each year, I'm able to set the testing schedule up before testing even begins. It keeps everyone on task.

Great Collaboration and Version Control, But Some Features are Non-Intuitive

It can be non-intuitive to work with charts and images

Workiva offers strong security features and customizable dashboards that make it easier to tailor the platform to specific reporting and collaboration needs. These features help streamline workflows and provide confidence in data integrity.

The user interface can sometimes feel unintuitive, especially when navigating between modules or setting up new reports. While it’s functional, there’s a bit of a learning curve that could be smoothed out with better design or onboarding.

Workiva helps simplify and centralize our social sustainability reporting process. By providing secure data management and customizable dashboards, it reduces manual work and improves collaboration across teams. This has made it easier to track progress, ensure consistency, and meet reporting deadlines with greater confidence.

The linkage between Excel and Presentation is difficult to update. Also In presentation you can't simply unhide single row, have to open remaining

Easy Access, Cost-Efficient but Needs Speed Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Workiva for about five years primarily for assisting clients with SEC filings. One of the aspects I like about Workiva is that it is easy to access, even without training, which makes it user-friendly from the start. This accessibility is crucial as it allows me to get up to speed quickly and efficiently, maximizing my productivity without needing extensive onboarding. I appreciate the cost savings Workiva provides, especially for my clients. The platform offers more control over edits and proves to be cheaper than traditional printers, which has been a significant financial benefit for my clientele. These efficiencies ultimately save money and streamline operations, making Workiva a valuable tool in my work arsenal. These elements, combined with the overall functionality and ease of setup, make Workiva a worthwhile investment, contributing greatly to my positive experience over the years.

I find the system sometimes slow, which affects my workflow. It seems to freeze occasionally, and minimizing this issue would enhance my overall experience. Addressing these speed and freezing issues would make the platform more appealing.

Easy Editing and Syncing, But Table Formatting Can Be Tricky

I like how you can sync to workbooks and how easy it is to edit and format.

Sometimes it can be a little hard to format tables/sections.
