What do you like best about the product?
We originally purchased Dovetail to help support consolidation of our User Research knowledge base. Over the past year, we've leaned into their other products (e.g., Channels) and have really expanded on the different use cases across our business leveraging Dovetail beyond Product Design.

We've seamlessly integrated their products into our flow of work and the tools are easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dovetail should focus on their Professional Services at launch. There wasn't a ton of support to get the program up and running initially which caused a lot of work on us to figure out how to use the tool and how best to launch this for our team. Additional support there would've helped with early buy-in and adoption.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dovetail has helped us with consolidation of our user research, plus more recently assimilation of data sources across our business through our use of their Channels product.

Very powerful tool, I love the AI features, the ability to add different components into the project overview. I use it weekly, it is simple enough to use

It can be difficult to get consistency within the team because Dovetail offers so many ways of doing different things

What do you like best about the product?
Laerdal Medical is a sales-led, B2B, global healthcare education organization that collects knowledge about customers, users (learners), and markets from several different sources. Sources that are sometimes behind organizational siloes. Dovetail, with its ease of use and AI-powered enterprise intelligence, is helping create an Insights library that aims to facilitate insights-led decision-making for product development.

Functionalities like Ask Dovetail allow us to tap into years of documented design research covering multiple markets, segments, and customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Project folders and organisation could improve. Not being able to have a personalized view of the workspace can make finding projects and general administration more complicated than needed.

Admin channels' resources could also improve, allowing admins to assign channels to specific users or projects could make the administration of resources and cost control way mroe effective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Access to years of design research and konwledge to foster a culture of insights-informed decision-making.

Dovetail Has Transformed How We Share Insights

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using Dovetail as the research repository for my organization, and it’s honestly transformed how we share and access insights. As an admin, I’ve set up a process for research sharing through it, and it has made information not only more accessible but also more meaningful.

What I love most is how easy it is to navigate and actually use the platform. The interface is clean and intuitive, which makes digging into research feel seamless instead of overwhelming. The contextual chat is a standout feature for me—it allows me to surface insights in a way that feels conversational and connected, rather than just searching through static documents. This has really changed how I find and re-use research across projects. It centralizes knowledge, makes sharing effortless, and keeps valuable insights alive instead of buried in folders. It’s been a huge help in not just storing research, but in truly using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to point out a downside, it would be that the AI chat—while super helpful—still has room to grow in terms of credibility and accuracy. It’s already useful, but if that improves, it’ll be an absolute game-changer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem Dovetail solves for me is making research accessible and usable across the organization. Before, insights were scattered—living in documents, decks, or people’s heads—making it hard to find and reuse them later. With Dovetail, everything is centralized in one place, which means no more wasted time digging around or reinventing the wheel.

It also solves the problem of sharing research effectively. Instead of sending out static files, I can set up a process where research is organized, searchable, and easy for anyone to engage with. This has made collaboration smoother and helped insights actually influence decisions.

Fantastic innovation transforming the product

What do you like best about the product?
My work is 1000% improved with suggested highlights and magic summary and chat. The product managers and developers and designers I work with are wowed by their viewer experience to easily find data. This is the best improvement and innovation in a tool I have used for years.

What do you like best about the product?
Dovetail’s continuous desire to improve is honestly its most attractive feature. I first made the case to use it at our company over two years ago. Today, as the head of research and strategy, I’ve turned into a key part of our researcher onboarding for every engagement for our Fortune 300 enterprise clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish our use case as a consultancy was more of a primary experience. When it comes to easily creating hierarchy and strict permissioning for separate teams and client teams

Streamlines process of uploading user video sessions and analyzing transcriptions

What do you like best about the product?
We like being able to store all our research in one place and search it all together. I also love the transcripts and the link to the videos to easily show customer feedback as well as create the highlight reels.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to organize data, especially with a large enterprise organization.

The biggest problem is our research repository and it helps us to collect data in one place and easily share with others

The best tool for organizing interviews and finding themes

What do you like best about the product?
Great interface. It's easy to upload content and keep it organized. You can also highlight important passages and find themes, which you can then tag- which is such a time saver when you're revisiting interviews years later.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price. My organization can't afford to give everyone access, so the information needs to be shared in different ways.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets all of the designers on the team organize their content in the same place. We can find common themes across our products.

What do you like best about the product?
It's a perfect tool for studying and compiling interviews. It's easy to use, and it creates a data bank with many insights that facilitate the analyses. So, I frequently use it, at minimum every month. It's helped me link a lot of interviews that I realized, with various themes, to connect them all and search. Perfect!
What do you dislike about the product?
The transcript in portuguese brazil could be better, its takes a lot of work to rewrite everything. ,
Also to give some courses with how to use, best practices in research and compilate interview data, tagging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me to organized and analyse customer feedback, users interviews, by centralizing everything. Its perfect to analyse all the recordings , building one huge data base , that I can search everything and tag. Helps me to create insights with evidences, to link contexts and easy to share with the team
