Dovetail Rocks!
What do you like best about the product?
AI functionality along with tagging gets us to our key findings super fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface can be bit difficult to learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dovetail makes turning qauntative and qaulatative data into answers / findings super fast and easy.
Great way to centralize your customer data
What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexiblity of Dovetail. When I need to get to insight fast to decide on the direction of what I'm working on, I can easily ask Dovetail for answers. And if any customer or market data is missing I can quickly conduct my own investigation and analyze all kinds of data in a fun to use tool. It's great!
What do you dislike about the product?
Dovetail is flexible and I highly recommend taking time to think through how to set up the solution to scale. It's easy to get started with one-off projects without thinking through how stakeholders will engage and leverage the tool as well. Ultimately Dovetail show compounding returns when the whole enterprise is connected to a single source of truth when it comes to customer insights, and that takes some planning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a quick way to analyize customer data from multiple sources and present it out to execs and stakeholders to decide what to build next.
Dovetail is a blessing for any team building up their Research & Analytics stack
What do you like best about the product?
Dovetail's a blessing for user research; it's got a lot going for it.
It's great for keeping all your research artifacts in one place. Interviews, surveys, customer feedback - you name it, Dovetail can handle it. And finding things later? Super easy. It’s enabled non-researchers to more readily surface prior learnings, without the need for research staff to recall what has been done (or sift through the ocean of Google Drive where research was previously archived). Workspace-level tags have been a godsend in helping refine searches, especially as your repository grows.
As for qualitative analyses, Dovetail’s got some serious muscle here. It integrates with most video conferencing software to make importing interviews seamless. Transcription is usually pretty accurate—though it’s more likely to error when it comes to industry jargon and accents from non-native English speakers. This isn't a huge issue though, as I haven't found a more accurate tool. Tagging is straightforward and works well collaboratively.
Dovetail has a lot going for it. It’s one of the more robust repository & qualitative analysis tools on the market. It's saved us an immeasurable amount of time over the years. It has some UI quirks and I wish the pricing structure didn’t keep changing. But despite its issues, it’s one of the first tools I’d recommend to anyone looking to build up an organization’s research division from scratch. It’ll make your life a whole lot easier.

What do you dislike about the product?
The UI keeps changing though, which can be challenging to adapt to, especially for frequent users.
The pricing structure has changed a lot over the years, with the paid plans generally becoming much more expensive.

I like Dovetail because it organizes research data very well. It’s easy to tag and sort information, making analysis quick and efficient. Everythings are at one place and their customer support is great. i use it freuqntly for keeping different items in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Dovetail is that it can be a bit pricey for small projects. Also, it takes some time to learn all its features. And the way its organise the informations, can be a bit tricky for beginner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dovetail helps by organizing and analyzing research data efficiently. This saves me time and makes it easier to draw insights from my research, improving the quality of my work. Dovetail also solves the problem of collaboration by allowing team members to work together on research projects in real-time, which enhances teamwork and communication. Great tool for UX Researchers
What do you like best about the product?
It's super easy to create tags, review work, and collate videos that you can quickly showcase to other stakeholders
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs to be more user friendly when creating a presentation. Instead of having to tag a video, download it, upload it in the PPT - I would prefer to be able to drag and drop tagged videos so I can easily delete the ones I dont want while I'm preparing it. Often times once you try to view videos by a tag, you can't reorder them so I have to go into each and retag to make sure it is in the order I want to showcase them in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do a lot of usability testing and user interviews so to be able to see pretty accurate transciptions, be able to tag and pull out videos - helps me reinforce the point I am making when showcasing it to stakeholders
Convenient tool for qualitative data sharing
What do you like best about the product?
Automatically transcripting video into text, and you can click certain part of text to jump to that part of video.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure where I can get a good overview of all the comments made on each data entry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A place to store all the qualitative user research data, create insights and share with the team. You can also create a user base, and find all your interactions with a certain user.
Dovetail research repository
What do you like best about the product?
The AI analysis is improving. I still use the same tagging and transcribing as core.
What do you dislike about the product?
Constant change, and not always for the better, makes it hard to make Dovetail useful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our research is all over the place. Dovetail helps us keep things all together.
Powerful data analysis engine.
What do you like best about the product?
Dovetail's robust reporting tools transform raw data into compelling narratives. The ability to create visually appealing reports enhances my communication of findings, making it an invaluable asset in my research toolkit.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, the platform experiences minor glitches, affecting the smooth flow of my work. I appreciate the continuous updates, but a bit more stability would be ideal for a seamless experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The customizable tagging system in Dovetail is a lifesaver. It helps me organize vast amounts of information efficiently, making it easy to pinpoint trends and patterns, ultimately leading to more informed decision-making.
Easy to use and friendly interface
What do you like best about the product?
I find the Zapier integration very useful for transferring data from one platform into Dovetail in an organized manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't seen much yet, but I would love to have a Hubspot integration so my customer support team can add user product suggestions from Hubspot into dovetail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gathering info all in one place in an organized manner.
Dovetail keeps your user insights organized and accessible throughout your organization
What do you like best about the product?
I like the sharable insight reports that are well organized and easy to find.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing significant that I dislike about Dovetail. It can get overwhelming sometimes when you see all the insights there is and not know what to read that is relevant to you. Maybe if there was a personalized "readings for you" type way to get insights that could be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps keep all our user insights in one place and make data accessible across the organization.
