Dovetail makes data display easy
What do you like best about the product?
I like to use this program to display data. It helps compare numbers easily so all parties can see and understand the growth

There is nothing I dislike about dovetail.

It really is a great program to use to display data easily.
Almost perfect research software

* Product design is 9/10, very rare in B2B.
* Adoption is very smooth, intuitive information architecture
* Feature are great, blows competition out of water every day!

What do you dislike about the product?
* Their AI functions are just not there yet. Switching between chatGPT and DT gets old fast. I wish they were build in (they are, but they don't work that well).

Good way to categorize all research
What do you like best about the product?
I like organizing a project by notes and insights table/charts versus having these files live separately. People can add comments like google or confluence. The best part is the search tool. You can search by keyboard and see a preview of the notes. This is not possible in google or confluence and you have to keep opening files to see if it's relevant to you.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything feels like a flat view. You have to work to add folders and tags otherwise it's all a flat list. Wish there were more columns to see the projects more organized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing all files in a central location. Moving all related files (documents, tables, charts) to a project so it's easy to access. Dates and editors are automatically documented.
Clunky, unintuitive with cryptic error messages
What do you like best about the product?
Nothing. I would literally reconsider interviewing at any company that required me to use this for data analysis or research.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Error messages are cryptic and unhelpful.
2. Basic activities like cutting video highlights are at best unintuitive and utterly confounding at worst. I was given a *33 step* list of instructions to make a highlight.
3. UX is far too complicated and involves far too many concepts to learn. Even basic UX elements like a window close button are inefficient and don't work as expected.

Research interview transcription + video generation
Fantastic product. I t has upped our research game.

The tagging and transcript functions are great tools.

Transcripts in other languages (spanish, portuguese) lack a bit of calibration

Amazing for research
What do you like best about the product?
Since I work mostly on research, specifically user interviews, the best and most helpful part for me is the possibility of uploading a video and having an automated transcription of it. So I don't need to take notes while talking to people or listen to the video several times and manually do everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe having the transcript be a bit more accurate, it often happens to be wrong, and I have to edit it manually. To be honest, I still haven't gotten to know everything Dovetail offers. In the future, I might have more to add to this question.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I mentioned before, It's saving my time and making my job much easier. I don't need to re-listen to videos of the interviews, or take notes. I have the transcript, I can edit it if it didn't catch a phrase correctly and there is a tagging system so you can basically highlight everything important from that interview
Great platform for managing and performing research
What do you like best about the product?
It's cloud-based, intuitive to use, easy to integrate and has great support.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment bringing in more quantitative research/insights is complicated, even embedding visualisations into stories is not a straightforward task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bring the research process from research brief to insight (you may still have to use other ideation/project management tools tho)

How simple the UI is to navigate. Segmenting between projects is easy too.

Some errors every once in a while so transcription needs editing sometimes.

Simplifying communication, either between users and their feedback or internal calls with the team.
A neat little toolkit for UX researchers
What do you like best about the product?
Its best use is as a research repository. It's much better than keeping interview notes in Google Docs or spreadsheets. I also like the built-in transcription.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's pricing plans are a bit confusing. And the free version doesn't really give you enough to set up a proof of concept.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to make qualitative user resarch more accessible to non-researchers. This enhances the value prop of a UXR team.

I don't enjoy very much the latest changes on the tool and pricing

Easy to use and intuitive, really didn't explore the tool until the end and probably not using all the functionalities
