Flexible, easy to use solution

  • December 29, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1password offers a variety of options to access all the passwords you use - you can log in via browser, the desktop app, or a browser plugin. Desktop app and logging in through the website work consistently well. The password generator is also nice, because it's a pain to come up with original passwords that meet various platforms' requirements so being able to punch in the requirements and get a password that works is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
The browser plugin can be a little buggy after updating and will often require restarting my computer (not just the browser) to work. Also, sometimes when prompted to save a new login, it doesn't accurately capture the username, just the password. This is most common when signing up with websites that require the username and password to be entered on separate screens.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Due to working with in multiple instances, we need a secure solution to store our own passwords as well as easily access shared login information. It saves the need to memorize multiple passwords, come up with original passwords, and spares those of us using shared logins from having to do multiple password resets. Also, since we use it as both individuals and as a team, having separate individual and shared vaults gives us the best of both worlds.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Works well on both Windows and Apple OS machines, so a good choice for a mixed-device office. While there isn't any Linux support, it's reported to work pretty well in WINE.

What do you like best about the product?
1Password is very simple to setup and use. I can sign anyone up for it and add a few addons to their browser and their computer and they don't forget their passwords again. I use it daily and it is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how it requires me to login to access my passwords so often. I understand it's for security reasons but I wish I could adjust it to not require it on the same PC except daily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to manage passwords for a few users who often have trouble with passwords. Right now it is not deployed to everyone, but we are working on setting it up for people who want it on an invidiual basises. Some people don't really want it at the moment or won't trust it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is really a great software solution for password management if you want something in the cloud that is secure and trustworthy. They have been around for a while and their pricing is great.

What do you dislike about the product?
The process of setting up a new password can be tedious. Can also be hard to setup groups and notify users of new password changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Password management and keeping our data secure but accessible. Sharing company credit card information in a safe and simple way.

The desktop version is a little difficult to use, but you get the hang of it after a few uses.

It actually freed my mind

What do you like best about the product?
As the name of this software, I only need to remember one and only one master password. Other thing I love is integrated one-time password generation. I have retired Google Authentication app since I bought 1Password license. Specially, the apple watch app is so convenient for one-password. I love that experience and use one-password more and more as long as the service I use supports it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The chrome extension only works if 1Password app installed. It can't work as alone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't have to worry about my password was hacked or leaked on some online services. As before, I used 1 password for all services since I couldn't remember all if I used different password for each service. Now if one of services was hacked, hackers cannot use the password they got to access other services I use.

Excellent password manager

What do you like best about the product?
Very convenient to use, excellent integration with most browsers, and very good synchronization between devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional stability problems which require a browser restart to fix. I would like better integration with other applications on iOS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to 1Password I have randomly-generated passwords on most websites and applications that require them, and I am able to use much longer passwords, without having to remember any of them. This considerably decreases the risk of compromise of multiple accounts, as they all have different passwords.

Secure and Simple!

What do you like best about the product?
You only have to remember 1 password, the password to get into "1password" then all of your other passwords are securely awaiting you!
What do you dislike about the product?
The login page will sometimes randomly pop up when it has been awhile since I've logged in. It can disrupt a current sale that I'm working on. There can also be a little bit of lag when logging in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is one central location where any of our employees can access the passwords needed for many different sites and software that we use on a daily basis. There is no issue of trying to remember or having saved passwords on various sites that then become a security issue for the business.

Passwords Protected BUT So Easy For User

  • October 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I love most about 1password is it's ease of use, when you have the paid version your account syncs so whether you are on your phone or computer 1password works. You can go onto any platform that requires your login and you can use command forward slash to prefill the username and password which you have saved onto your 1password. You can also have 1password generate example passwords for you that are difficult for anyone to guess or hack however you don't need to remember them either. It's very safe because you can have a different password for everything but not have to remember them all.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I would say I dislike about 1password is its ability to be opened by one master password. It's not happened to me yet, but if someone found out your master password then they have access to all your passwords, credit card details in a second. What would make 1password safe would be the use of fingerprint, voice unlock and the master password.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the business problems you are using is: time-saving by not having to go searching through notebooks to find passwords or trying to remember them all. You also don't need to continually type out your username, email or password as 1password auto-fills the information for you. At an affordable price it is completely worth the time and effort you save.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend to use 1password properly in terms of ensure that you have set up all your passwords in one password so that when it comes to logging in anywhere you can use the short cut function to paste your information where you need it. I would also recommend not to save passwords on your computer for programs that aren't saved through 1password as this is very unsafe if your computer or phone was stolen.
