1Password - Review

  • October 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1Password is an application that collects all the passwords used in Windows. The program is both a password manager and a tool to protect computer access. It remembers all the logins used by the user - both for programs and on the Internet. Also, it automatically generates passwords for web pages, email, iTunes, and applications. The user only has to remember the password to access 1Password. The app supports most web browsers: Safari, Firefox, OmniWeb, Camino and so on. It also lets you sync between iPhone/iPod touch and Windows.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit complicated, and at the start, the UI might look less intuitive. However, you're likely going to discover yourself comfortable using this for some moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1Password gives me the ability to create strong random passwords that I can access from the device I'm logged in to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1Password I recommend for those looking for a password manager for business solutions, but also private.

Good option for save your passwords

  • September 19, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
1Password provides a simple and easy way to store most of my important passwords. I’ve been using it for 3 months, as an alternative to standard password managers. The interface is user-friendly, dynamic and properly coded. Also it has a device sync function, which allows you to carry your passwords in your phone/table
What do you dislike about the product?
1Password works through a master password system, in a very similar fashion to a cryptocurrency wallet. Although this brings better security to the table, it also means that losing your master password is going to render the application useless and/or forcing the user to contact customer support in order to recover their data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you work as a Community Manager or any other social media related profession, it is paramount to keep your account information safe from malicious elements. However when you have to run several accounts, remembering a long username/password for each account can be tedious. With 1Password such issues are gone. The main benefit is the enhanced security for your personal data. The password generator included in the application also provides robust passwords according to the needs of the user. They also provide alternatives for personal and corporate users alike. And let’s not forget the document storage feature.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1Password can be a helpful tool for personal/family users and standard business. They have 24/7 forum support, 2FA authentication and a robust security. So my recommendation is that go for it, it is one of the best managing password software out there.

UI is good, usability is terrible.

What do you like best about the product?
- Separate vaults
- Disabling vaults for a specific extension instance (I use it in Google Chrome for 2 separate accounts)
What do you dislike about the product?
- A new window is opened after you login through the 1Password X Google Chrome extension (this is pretty annoying)
- Generated password can't be saved, the error is "There is no access to the Internet" (after logging in on 1password.com, using a 2FA, the password is saved, not sure that was the actual fix for the issue)
- Login accounts are not synced in a single account when it's used in 2 Google Chrome browser instance with 2 different accounts.
- The so-called "secret key" - I get the idea what's it for, but the way it's done leads to putting on places where it's not supposed to live.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems that all of the password managers solve is obvious - minimize (remove) password reuse.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Not sure if there is a trial, but don't but an annual license.
There are small things that are really annoying and it seems to be so for over an year.

Best way to save passwords

  • September 12, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1Password is to my opinion the best password manager in the market at this day. It is an easy to use and very cheap program for what it offers, with many features and strong security so we are talking about an app that works for small business to big companies. I like it because it let me login automatically in saved pages and I know these password are well protected. I use 1Password in my Android device and it works fine.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very difficult to find the bad side to this program. What I think where they can improve is the way that operate each one of the platform. In desktop (windows) version operate some different that how it operate in mobile (android) version, with different and limited features. That's one thing, the other thing is that they force people to pay for use it, don't have a free version. I know it is cheap enough to pay without problem, but should give this option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving two main problems. Problem 1, the app remember for me my passwords and problem 2, I can manage them knowing they are protected. The big benefit that the app give you is the security. You know your important passwords and important contents, like credit cards numbers, are totally secure. The security is so strong that even large companies uses it. Other benefit is the automation of the login process, typing passwords like before is not needed anymore.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended, not even a doubt. I know the app is not free but come on, is too cheap for what it offer, with many important features. They give 30 of free trial so you can try it and test how the software adapt to your requirements.

Great Password Manager for Teams

  • September 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Makes it easy to share passwords with a team, which can be necessary for delegation. You can create shared vaults. Password updates replicate to all users. The password generator works extremely well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's easy to create duplicates and lose track of which vault has the correct password. It's a pain having to login to the password manager every 15 minutes or so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Delegation is MUCH easier! Our accountant is able to log in to accounts as needed and do what she needs to do without constantly calling for a password. It makes having many secure randomly-generated passwords a reality, so even with delegated access we have much better security.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Implement carefully. Know who needs access to what and share passwords with their vaults (instead of copying passwords to vaults). Plan it out and you'll have better success.

Provides Watchtower, that detects weak, expiring and duplicate passwords!

  • August 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The password manager is available for computers (desktop variant and browser extension), as well as mobile devices and I have been using it the three versions. The software has a transparent structure making effortless to add, edit and delete records, credentials and banking information. One of the most beneficial features, that provides 1Password is Watchtower, that detects weak, expiring and duplicate passwords. Password Generator enables me to generate strong and unique watchwords for every account. Moreover, an advanced searching option allows me to find a specific login or account and its location.
What do you dislike about the product?
Each variant of 1Password operates distinctly different, as the mobile application has limited features in comparison to desktop and browser extension. Besides, a team collaboration tool is only available via browser extension, so you need a computer to add and delete permissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1Password is a reliable and efficient tool for my business needs. It upgraded internal security protocols for our team and enabled us to share permissions quickly. Besides, our passwords and banking information are stored in a secure vault.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The tool is perfect for each business and individuals, as it provides an additional security layer storing passwords, eliminating weak ones and generating reliable credentials.

User since 2006

  • August 16, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I usually tell people: "If it is convenient, it is not secure". 1Password is an exception, since it makes my life easier and more secure, at the same time. I like the convenience of always using the longest possible supported passwords, and manage 2FA OTPs on the same platform. Also, authenticating with FaceID or TouchID makes authentication a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
No support for Linux yet. Also, I liked having the option of hosting my vault on my storage, and this is not available anymore.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can store and share passwords and 2FA tokens securely and conveniently, and manage exactly which passwords each employee can access. 1Password helped my company to get the ISO 27001 certification.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend any sponsor to consider training and following users, to make sure they adopt and use the tool. We include this in our security training, and we push our employees to use 1Password both on the job and to manage private passwords. Good security habits need to be adopted across the board to be effective.

Handles various devices so that you can maintain it everywhere

  • August 12, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1Password is an excellent password manager that handles various devices so that you can maintain it anywhere. Your credentials, as well as private and billing data, are gathered in an encrypted privacy vault, which is convenient because there is no need to remember the data. Authentication details may be separated into segments and attached an image or document. The system auto-fills the forms into the platforms and enables you to sign in with fingerprint scan. 1Password is armed with a unique password generator that allows each platform to have unique passwords. The program provides features such as 2nd-copy cloud or cross-device synchronising. The service also promotes several techniques of two-factor authentication.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI may become more customer-friendly and straightforward as it might be demanding to configure and customise the software. Honestly, the price may be lower as Keeper is an elementary application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The service is the best way to collect login credentials or savings and debit card information reliably. 1Password is well incorporated with many platforms, so the autofill function may be an excellent time-saver and allows me to reach pages rapidly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you wish for cloud service with robust security features and a cloud data sharing scheme, you might consider checking the product.
