Trustworthy Steward of Personal Secrets

What do you like best about the product?
Watchtower have to be the best feature among the features 1Password has added to its products. A heads up right from the password manager when some breach affects the user is what a manager should do.
What do you dislike about the product?
The weak point of 1Password is its relative lack of support to its Windows client software, and total lack of a Linux client. When I was using Linux I had to run the Windows client on Wine as a workaround.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1Password entered the password manager market earlier than most other players. In the beginning it even delegated storage to Dropbox. Over the years a lot more features are added and they took the storage into their own hands. It has always been the most seamless experience for me managing passwords.

1pw works beautifully across devices

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can store and retrieve passwords and other information across devices, and can retrieve securely even while offline. I like that the keychain is stored locally and I don't have to be online to get it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing to dislike about 1pw. I've been using it a few years without any trouble whatsoever.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can coordinate keychains across devices with this very compatible software. Dropbox provides an effortless sync from one computer to another. I have multiple keychains that are used in combinations of devices. Easy to manage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for storing little files containing keys or tokens for authentication. Works offline (where that's applicable - such as storing the combination to the office safe). Instant one-hot-key log-in to web sites using browser extension.

Excellent Product

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Excellent place to keep all my information secure. Because of ease of use I do not have to create passwords I can remember. I let 1Password generate complex passwords for each log-in I have (and I have a lot). Much better than my old way.
My family and I also enjoy shared vaults.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once I tried to find something of mine that was only in my vault. The search of shared vaults found many similar items in my spouse's vault that was not needed by me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More secure passwords. Since 1Password is so easy to use I have a different, secure password for each login.

the ESSENTIAL web safety tool

  • February 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Passwords are out-of-date as a web safety tool, but 1Password makes this necessary protocol as effective and easy to manage as possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of correspondence between fill-cells in various websites and 1Password's ability to ID and Fill.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security! Safety!

The Most Useful App I have

  • February 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Auto fill and login, ease of use and clean interface make creating and filling passwords a breeze. I have over 1,500 passwords, all are different and strong, yet I only have to remember one. That is powerful. And syncs across my phone, tablet and computer is fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
I used to dislike not being able to use my fingerprint to open it, it took a while to type my unique passcode. But now, that functionality has been added, making filling passwords on my phone very fast and easy. I very much appreciate that feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My ability to keep track of many passwords has been negated. Also, the ability to organize, tag or use secure notes has eliminated the need of an IT person, saving me additional resources and time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Having tried several different password management softwares, this one is my preferred because it overdelivers on my needs at a tremendous value.

Great app that does it's job without being overly complex or flashy

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and browser integration work great. Cross platform access to you database is helpful when traveling.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to auto populate the second tier authentication required by many websites (mothers maiden name, street you grew up on, etc). As well a better understanding of how to best auto store them (I always overwrite my password when 1Password asks me to store a challenge question, instead of storing it in the notes section or someplace else).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it for personal use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just download a trial and try it...you'll find you can't live without it after about two weeks.

Ease of Use is Key

  • February 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This software simply works, and the development team is constantly updating when things don't go the way they should with websites and such. I love being able to store various kinds of important information here, as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to see them figure out how to incorporate touch ID on the MBP Touch Bar so that I can just use that instead of typing in a password each time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlining access to financial accounts online is the main purpose. Makes it quick and efficient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I didn't try out any other similar software, though I know it's out there. 1Password has always served all of my needs.

Password managers are necessary. 1Password makes them easy.

  • February 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was skeptical of using a password manager. I started using a competitor (Last Pass) for free, mostly so that I could just remember my various passwords, many of which I would reuse but keeping them all in my head was sometimes tough. The software was clunky, and since I wasn't paying, I didn't have it on my phone, which left me stuck if I couldn't remember a password on the go.

I started a new job and they recommended I use 1Password and I quickly made the switch. It was like night and day. I went all in, having 1Password create a new random password for each website I used.

I now actually have none of my passwords memorized because they are all a random series of numbers/letters/words as created by 1Password. The keyboard shortcut (Command + \ on a Mac) works so well for entering my credentials. The mobile app is a breeze and allows me to have all my passwords whether I'm at my desk or on my phone.

I feel safer, and I actually feel more confident in having the right credentials since knowing my password is no longer dependent on my memory, but instead on 1Password.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I am creating/saving a login for a tool that isn't on the web, that is a bit cumbersome (say, Outlook or an app on my phone). Really, the only other complaint I have is convincing my wife to use the same password manager, which would allow us to share passwords among our "family" account. Still working on moving her over, which isn't the easiest process. (but worth it!)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All my accounts, whether personal or business, are safer now. I don't reuse any passwords. If one account is compromised (say LinkedIn or Amazon), that login information cannot be used on any other website because all of my passwords are unique and random.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is surprisingly easy to use (once you're set up, which can be time consuming if you are putting all your login information into a password manager for the first time, or switching from another tool) and has been an amazing peace of mind for me.
