Solid and reliable experience, with some problems when updating extensions

  • December 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The integration with macOS and Safari. It is very well integrated and have not produced any problem when used after installed. It is very easy to use and I think that everyone that has the opportunity to try 1Password should do it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had problems when updating the extension. It usually stops working after updating and I have to restart the computer to continue using it. It only happens when updating.

Also, sometimes the extension can generate some random UI glitches which I detected. It is not too disturbing and usually it does not avoid myself to use the application properly, but I think it is something to take into account. I would try to improve those small bugs to make the experience more satisfying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for saving tons of secrets I use when working and it is needed to be properly manage: passwords, certificates, personal data, etc. I have know a unique and well organise place to have every secret while being very easily accesible.

After starting using 1Password, I don't spent so much time trying to remember those secrets. It seems like a really simple task but, when you realise the amount of time and energy you spent remembering and organising any other kind of system, it is very difficult to go back to that solution if you have 1Password now. It is one thing less to worry about, and that is great!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it. If you don't like it, you can just unsubscribe!

Good tool to ensure better handling of secrets across an organization

  • December 16, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Helps improve the way employees manage passwords within the organisation. You can monitor usage within the org, and adds a 2FA authentication layer (enabling the option to make it mandatory) protection for any employee account in that way.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Possibility of adding 2FA authentication tokens into it for different logins, in practice defeating the purpose of 2FA alltogether. There is no option to turn that feature off
- No way to monitor employees better, such being able to get alerts if they do not use it to store passwords for many company accounts. Would be good to be able to get a report of how many secrets/passwords each employee has stored in the private Vault.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Improving company security. Trying to make employees handle secrets better / following best practices
- Sharing secrets among teams in a safe way, specially technical teams.
- When an employee leaves, we can see exactly what secrets were visible to the person, allowing us to rotate the necessary ones

It is the best password manager

  • December 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, effectively controls and evaluates passwords, I'm glad that the service can be installed on all platforms also has a plug-in for browsers, 1Password allows me to control my password on all my devices, just all I have to do is log in to the service. Their autofill function for applications that are mobile is always fast when I need to log in to different applications on my phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was not a fan on the learning curve. At the beginning it was a bit intimidating, as well as forcing the passwords in the application after forced modification.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1Password a offers a protected backup system as well as synchronization with databases in the cloud, so I will get my passwords even if my device is stolen.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1Password offers a free plan, which allows you to check their services before selecting a plan.

1Password Review

  • December 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having both shared passwords with teammates and private credentials in the same place, on the same account. This is extremely helpful for someone like me who shares multiple logins with my team but also has numerous credentials of my own, and lots of my credentials are for accounts that are confidential or off-limits to others, like online banking.

Prompts at login to save new credentials. This saves time and minimizes my ability to create an account or change a password and then forget to record the new credentials (which I do a lot).
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the prompt at login to save new credentials doesn't appear and I have to manually click on the Chrome extension. This means starting the process of saving new credentials from scratch instead of saving them automatically, on the go, and with a couple of clicks. I have already missed some opportunities to save new credentials as a result.

Access times out fairly quickly. I find myself typing my master key into the prompt at login more times than I would like to. Though, I completely understand that the main concern of 1password is cyber security and it wouldn't be secure if the program didn't time out quickly. It just feels like a lot of extra steps when I am busy, as my master key (like everyone's, I'm sure) is pretty complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned previously, it minimizes the risk of me making new credentials or updating credentials without recording them. It also stops me from forgetting passwords and losing time by resetting password, resaving them in Google Chrome, or not writing them down.

If a password changes for a shared account, everybody knows who needs to without the risk of someone not being informed and then changing the password again as a result of not being able to access the account.

It has made it very easy to follow my company's password policy, which requires me to have different passwords for every account that I have access to. Previously, I had some passwords saved in Chrome, some saved in Safari, some written down in my notebook, and half of them were wrong. None of this has been an issue since I started using 1password.

Great password manager, changed my perspective on cybersecurity, UX could be improved

  • December 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1Password as a product does what it advertises. It is extremely secure, the company doesn't keep its users' credentials and data on their servers, and it is relatively easy to set up and use on a daily basis. I like how it seamlessly integrates with my web and mobile experience, and has plenty of customizable settings for enhanced security. The Watchtower feature that alerts users about sites with security breaches provides an extra layer of security and peace-of-mind.

1Password is also great for teams. The shared vaults allows many working groups within our company to securely share logins, financial info, developer secret keys, and more. The Chrome extension and autofill is useful on a daily basis as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
1Password is bringing the complicated concept of cybersecurity to a wide user base - no small feat. The UX of the onboarding process could use more work, as most users are cross-platform and there are several apps / extensions required to make the most of 1Password. As a business and personal user, I am constantly switching between three accounts so having a better way of integrating would improve my workflow. 1Password allows users to log in to several accounts at once, but it still requires several steps to get there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cybersecurity is a top-of-mind issue for personal use. For business, it changes how confidential and private information is shared across team members, and automates the process especially in a large organization to reduce IT overhead.

What do you like best about the product?
It just gives me peace of mind that I know where all my weird and strange passwords are and I can lose that little piece of paper with them on it haha.
What do you dislike about the product?
The multiple layers of logins, but that makes me feel good that they're so secure with this stuff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My dis-organization when it comes to security haha.

I have peace of mind and less stress on knowing I'm not locked out of anything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

Very helpful

  • December 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The tool is simple to use. Especially the Google Chrome extension.
What do you dislike about the product?
The icon will pop up in a field even when that password hasn't been saved. It's a little misleading. Wish there was a different icon if the information is already stored versus the prompt to save it at that time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The tool makes storing and sharing passwords easier for our company as well as my personal accounts. I've realized that I was using the same password for far too many accounts.

Real Secure dint know why I dint use it earlier

  • December 10, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of having my passwords centralized
What do you dislike about the product?
I have to login to find a password everytime.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to keep my passwords unique and secure and not having to remember them all the time. I don't have to keep track of what passwords I used where and it remembers what I used where. 1password gives me the peace of mind that I'm not using the same password everywhere that could jeopardize all my accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will help you keep everything secure and centralized, you'd be able to pass compliance checks and make sure everyone is using a password that is secure and keeps company/business assets and trade secrets from being corrupted. Personally using it can make sure you're not falling into the trap of using common passwords that are easy to crack using bots referencing your personal information. This way you worry about one password which is your "master password" and let 1password generate new passwords for you that are secure and keep your information safe. It can store a variety of information like logins/credit cards/credentials and is flexible enough to have customs stuff.

Effective tool to manage passwords across various deployments and improved security

  • December 10, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Gives me and our team peace of mind that we have secured our passwords across all deployments on the front and back end.

It is also an effective way for team members to share passwords with each other without sharing them in an unsecured environment like Slack or Email.

It's also well thought out functionality in how they developed ease of adding/using MFA from within the accounts login page. Allowing you to input it via a few clicks instead of having to boot up your authenticator application or text messaging 2FA separately.

For our administrator, the usage reports are very helpful for measuring adoption and following up with staff to ensure that 1Password is effectively being used by all members.

The Watchtower feature is great in notifying if a company email was detected in a breach, even if no one saved their credentials for that website in 1Password. This is helpful as myself and our team use a broad range of highly established and less evolved Saas Applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be a more convenient experience if it integrated with biometric measures like Windows Hello or my phone. Occasionally entries get clunky when it clashes with Chrome's built-in autofill and password features.

Sometimes there are pop-ups for login that won't allow me to autofill.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1Password was initially given to our team to improve our password security but came with a hidden blessing in that it allows me to juggle passwords across various SaaS subscriptions and tools I use on a day to day basis, as well as multiple deployments of our firm's applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While reviewing various tools, it would be helpful to understand the types of devices staff have, as well as strongly recommending training to ensure staff are familiar with the various applications and entry points for 1Password.
