Shared team vaults have streamlined credential access and secured daily development workflows

  • December 04, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

1Password Business serves as my main solution for sharing credentials with my team and storing passwords for staging.

We maintain a vault specific for the team where we have access to our staging and test environments.

Whenever a new team member is onboarded, we give them access to the vault so they have immediate access to all the credentials they need to log in.

What is most valuable?

The best features 1Password Business offers are the developer tools, as they mean that if you have SSH set up on your GitHub account, you don't have to type in your password every time you commit and push something.

1Password Business has positively impacted my organization by making it more secure, easier to share credentials with other people, and more reliable.

If we were to forget our password, the owner of the enterprise can reset it and then log us back in. Using a password manager in general is more secure, especially when it's a trusted one by the entire team, and the reliability is evident because it's straightforward to log in knowing that your credentials will be there anytime you do log in. The developer tools make my daily workflow easier and more secure because they integrate with the fingerprint built in for MacBook, making it quick and simple whenever I have to log into something.

What needs improvement?

I choose a nine out of ten because I think some of the UI is a bit confusing, and the tutorials and documentation for 1Password Business are not the best.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using 1Password Business for about a year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

1Password Business is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

1Password Business has good scalability.

How are customer service and support?

I don't know how the customer support is.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was using the Google Password Manager before, and we switched over to 1Password Business because the company said it was going to be our password manager since it was more secure, better for people to be on the same software, and they had more control in making sure people could get access to it.

How was the initial setup?

I am not sure how 1Password Business is deployed in my organization.

What about the implementation team?

I didn't have to deal with pricing, setup cost, and licensing because the company handled it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I didn't have to deal with pricing, setup cost, and licensing because the company handled it.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using 1Password Business is that the documentation is pretty bad, but once you figure it out, it's a good tool. I would rate this product a nine out of ten.

Streamlined onboarding has strengthened employee login security and reduces our risks

  • December 03, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for 1Password Business is keeping all of our employees secure and managing their logins.

What is most valuable?

1Password Business is a super product that we enjoy using.

The best features 1Password Business offers are the ease of use and how simple it is to set up and get people onboarded.

What makes the onboarding process easy with 1Password Business is that everything happens within 15 minutes or so. It is fast and easy.

1Password Business has positively impacted my organization by reducing some of our security risks.

What needs improvement?

1Password Business can be improved by reducing the cost. I would recommend making it half the current cost, and I would be very happy with that change.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using 1Password Business for about two years.

What other advice do I have?

I would not add anything else about the features. On a scale of one to ten, I would rate 1Password Business an eight. I chose eight out of ten because it felt right. Generally speaking, 1Password Business does most things really well, but it is not perfect. The advice I would give to others looking into using 1Password Business is to make their questions count. My overall rating for 1Password Business is eight out of ten.

Centralized credential management has transformed password rotation and streamlined compliance

  • December 02, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

1Password Business is used to save all service account credentials for team members, with the need to keep everything in one centralized location. Multiple locations are created for each team, such as one for the analytics team, where all passwords, EC2 key pairs, and other credentials are stored and shared with team members for their use.

1Password Business is used to retrieve passwords, and when new passwords are created, the password browser integration auto-populates the credentials whenever connecting to the single sign-on environment, filling in both username and password from the vault.

AWS IAM access keys are currently stored in the password vault for a critical application where IAM roles cannot be used. IAM access keys are rotated regularly through a separate pipeline that generates new access key and secret key every 85 days. These are seamlessly updated to the 1Password Business vault, and the application team retrieves the new credentials from the vault.

How has it helped my organization?

1Password Business saves 10 to 15 hours of workforce time every week, totaling almost 50 hours every month. There is no longer a need to have dedicated users rotating passwords, sharing passwords with others, or ensuring stakeholders receive updated credentials via email. Critical password details are no longer shared with individual persons through email, which significantly reduces time spent on password management, sharing, and coordination across the team and organization.

Operational processes have improved considerably. Previously, whenever passwords or access keys were rotated, they were shared with individual team members, which was not secure. With 1Password Business implementation, critical password details are updated to the vault and accessible only to team members with appropriate permissions. This has solved numerous operational challenges related to password rotation and addresses regulatory compliance requirements. The organization can now demonstrate evidence of secure password storage, which has been instrumental in obtaining security clearance in the life sciences and healthcare sectors.

What is most valuable?

1Password Business provides seamless integration with multiple services, AWS accounts, and enables easy management of the password vault and passwords. The automatic password rotation feature is particularly valuable, as rotated passwords are automatically updated to the 1Password Business vault.

The time savings achieved through 1Password Business is significant, eliminating 10 to 15 hours of workforce time weekly and approximately 50 hours monthly. Previously, dedicated users were required to rotate passwords, share them with others, and notify stakeholders when passwords expired. This information no longer needs to be shared via email, and the time previously spent on these tasks has been substantially reduced.

What needs improvement?

More integration with third-party SaaS products would be beneficial. During the initial onboarding process, seamless integration with other services was not fully realized, and proper documentation was lacking. However, after becoming comfortable with the system, the overall experience has been very positive.

For how long have I used the solution?

1Password Business has been in use for the last one and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There have been no issues with 1Password Business regarding reliability, and no challenges have been encountered.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

1Password Business supports organizational growth by accommodating increasing numbers of passwords and integrations with multiple services.

How was the initial setup?

The setup and management of 1Password Business is straightforward, and it securely stores passwords effectively.

What was our ROI?

1Password Business saves 10 to 15 hours of workforce time every week, totaling almost 50 hours every month. Dedicated users are no longer required to rotate passwords, share passwords with others, or notify stakeholders via email when passwords expire. The elimination of email-based credential sharing has significantly reduced time spent on these tasks, resulting in approximately 50 hours of time saved monthly.

What other advice do I have?

1Password Business is deployed in a hybrid cloud environment using Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the cloud provider alongside public cloud and private cloud environments with some SaaS products.

An identity provider, Okta, has been integrated with 1Password Business, eliminating user onboarding challenges and providing seamless integration with Okta single sign-on.

Groups and roles are utilized to grant access to specific team members. Audit features are not currently in use. Integration exists with the AWS environment and single sign-on, but not with other services beyond these. Password rotation is partially automated, with some rotations completed manually.

The overall experience with 1Password Business has been smooth and positive. The review rating for this solution is 9 out of 10.

What do you like best about the product?
Excellent security, top-notch customer support, and an easy-to-use feature for daily needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main drawback of 1Password is that admin controls and user management can be cumbersome when scaling across large teams. Assigning roles, adjusting access rights, or managing vault organization requires extra steps that could be simplified. Some integrations with third-party tools also need more flexibility or easier setup options.
