Saves time and worry

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using 1password for many years and it hasn't let me down. What I like best is how it integrates seamlessly with my computer and browser to log in to the huge number of sites and apps that I've gotten registered with over the years. It's also good for recording other sensitive information such as email settings and financial records.

I recently took the plunge to update to the subscription version of 1Password. (The standalone app still works for those who don't want to subscribe, but it is unlikely to continue being supported.) It took a little time for me to adjust to the slight differences in interface etc, but I'm comfortable with it now.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be naive to ignore the remote possibility of a hacker somehow accessing the master password. There is malware that monitors keyboard activity looking for repetitive patterns, so obviously one has to take great care to avoid a malware attack – usually initiated by clicking a malicious link in a phishing email or on an attachment, advert or website that's been compromised.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
After a colleague's websites were hacked, it brought it home to me how vulnerable we all are and I researched cyber security very thoroughly for an article. I discovered reports that many small business owners are still using weak passwords across all their logins.

1password has become one of my top 10 must-have apps. I'm on a mission to persuade all small business owners to protect themselves. It's such a simple and effective solution. (There are other well regarded password apps – I am not advocating that 1password is the best, but I can vouch that it works.)

Strong passwords are the first defence against hackers and cyber criminals. A brute force attack can decrypt a 7-character password in 0.29 milliseconds; 8-characters in 5 hours; 10-characters in 4 months; 12 characters in 2 centuries!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at reliable comparisons and reviews and, if you have time, give several apps a trial and then make your purchase. We all have different needs and priorities and it's sensible to find the best option for you. Your security is paramount, so don't be tempted to make your choice based on price. 1Password has always been regarded as one of the best on the market and I have not had any reason to consider changing.

Completely changed how I interact with the internet

What do you like best about the product?
Before paying for 1password, I use to have a notepad file with all of my passwords on my desktop. Each time I would need a password, I would have to decrypt the file. 1 password simplified all this. At first I could access the passwords quickly. Then I synced the file on dropbox, and my passwords became available from my work computer, as well as home computer. I installed the Chrome extension, which allows me to input the passwords and generate them in an instant. This also means that I choose much more secure passwords. Then I installed the app, which give me access to my passwords from anywhere, and it's been super helpful (traveling and you have to access some account, or at the bank and they ask you your bank account number which you forgot etc).
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much I dislike, except that it updates a bit too frequently. I also started having a bug on my home computer where it does not auto-fill anymore.
Installing a license for multiple people is not super straightforward and each time someone gets a new computer I have to look for the email to download the license file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I bought a license for most employees, when I saw that they were keeping company passwords on notepads, and loosing them. Now I know my employees will not be losing important information, or choosing the same password for all their accounts.

What do you like best about the product?
With password requirements changing typically every 90 days, 1Password has made my life much easier with a safe and secure way to store my passwords without worry. I like the fact that I can store all different sorts of secure information in a well organized fashion.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I would change is adding new categories to the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing many different client accounts and accessing their information in a safe and secure way is of utmost importance to protect their data, and 1Password allows me to do this without issue.

Great Password Management Tool

  • January 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1Password has a very nice interface, and integrates well on with multiple devices... Mac, iOS, Windows and Android. The web browser integration is fantastic.

1Password's principle is great... have 1Password that allows you to easily have a different password for everything else you need to access.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I'd like changed is to be able to view/search passwords in only one account... this only applies if you're using 1Password with multiple accounts... for example one for Work, one for home/family and one for another organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use 1Password to manage and provide restricted access to IT passwords as well as passwords for various business teams.

Passwords are consequently now more secure as they're no longer e-mailed around or written on post-it notes. We also are far more efficient since it's quick and easy to find the correct password.

Office Security

What do you like best about the product?
In my old job, we could never get into our accounts, it was really hard to share organizational logins in a secure and consistent way. 1password allows you to store your own passwords as well as organizational passwords.
What do you dislike about the product?
Onboarding could have been a little more clear. I just discovered the password creation tool. No real issues or complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security and clarity. Spend less time looking for passwords. Some of my passwords are still stored in browser settings but this is a great solution for any business that handles classified information or needs to meet security standards.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend this product, and require all employees to use it.

A perfect keychain

What do you like best about the product?
The simple use across platforms and operating systems and the synchronization between devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quite high price tag and I have had some sync issues when I didn't realize one device had stopped sync.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a consultant I have huge amount of passwords and use many different computers and phones. To have all my passwords at the same place and synchronized is essential.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The best password manager I've come across.

An invaluable tool for managing secrets

What do you like best about the product?
1Password's integration in macOS and iOS feels very solid, and the openness of the development team inspires a lot of confidence in both the technology and the team behind it. Having the ability to sync using several different services offers a lot of flexibility to meet your and your organisation's needs. For my I've found syncing for free via iCloud works well, but Dropbox and 1Password's own service are good cross platform options.

1Password is excellent for storing more than just passwords. There is support for two factor auth, secure notes including attachments, credit cards, bank accounts, passports and pretty much anything else. It also stores the history of passwords, which is a surprisingly useful addition.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration in apps doesn't feel quite as seamless as most browser's built in password features, but this is more than made up for by the extra features. Occasionally, when navigating the password filling interface it behaves in ways I don't expect (for example opening the website of the password I'm looking for instead of filling or copying the password to the clipboard).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just by the mere fact we're using 1Password to generate and store passwords greatly reduces the risk that leaks from another service online will compromise other accounts. Syncing of passwords and other secure info between devices has saved me many times when I've needed to fix something without being near my computer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're not using 1Password or another high quality password manager, you're almost certainly at higher risk than you should be.

Fantastic and Secure System

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and secure system to store my usernames and passwords. Great tool to create passwords that I don't need to know but are secure based on whatever standards I need at the time. Works flawlessly with web browsers. Love the Touch ID integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much I dislike about 1Password. For the most part it works perfectly. Sometimes it identifies the wrong site but this is easy to fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a lot of sites with various usernames and passwords, this makes it very easy to have greater security for those accounts without having to remember a lot of passwords.

Best Password Management

  • December 28, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and security that 1Password offers is the best in class. I've been using 1Password for 3 years now. Started off with a basic license for Mac but now moved to the new syncing version.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, it's really the best password management tool around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to save and remember passwords. Using the business version allows me and my colleagues to share the same passwords with each other and they're always updated. Plus being able to use this on my phone is a helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just by using it you'll see why it's the best in the market.

My favorite password vault

  • November 18, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1Password's browser integration is seamless and the missing link with many other password vaults.
What do you dislike about the product?
The application feels clunky sometimes when working with multiple vaults. Adding and removing them can be difficult or confusing. Thankfully it's not something you have to do often. But when you do their online documents are very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security. Having complex and unique passwords for every login is the way to go. 1Password makes this possible. Also, the ability to have and sync shared vaults with team members.
