Offers faster development of internal tools to support e-commerce clients and companies
What is our primary use case?
I used it to develop internal tools and an e-commerce dashboard.
A few months ago, I worked as a Retool developer for ReadyIntolo in London. I was responsible for building several internal tools and dashboards for company users. It has several filter features, workflows, a chat component, and some other features.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the faster development of internal tools to support e-commerce clients and companies.
Retool supports AI-driven projects and data workflows.
What needs improvement?
There aren't many integration resources yet, like Airtable. There's no functionality to integrate with it.
When I used it, it promoted integrating with Airtable by using the REST API. I think that is a limitation for Retool.
In future releases, Retool should add more resource integration.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
There are around 50 end users in my company.
How are customer service and support?
I have not contacted the technical support team. I just contacted the Retool forum.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before Retool, I worked with Azure, where I used Python, React, Node.js, and Java. For rapid development platforms, I have used no-code platforms like Power Apps and Wix.
How was the initial setup?
It is very easy to deploy.
When implementing Retool, there is a problem regarding mobile development. It's better when using a view. It doesn't support mobile.
So there's an issue with Retool supporting mobile development.
What was our ROI?
To use Retool, we have to pay the price for each user, so it seems worth the money.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is very expensive. It costs for each user, for automated users, open-end users, et cetera.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend others to use it to develop dashboards and projects rapidly. It is a better development platform than other language frameworks.
With Retool, we just have to drag and drop, but with other languages, we have to develop from scratch using JavaScript and Python.
It will be easy to use Retool for the first time. It will take around seven days to get the hang of it.
Overall, I would rate the solution a ten out of ten.

The power of low code without no ties with proprietary data sources
What do you like best about the product?
My experience with Retool has been a blend of a fast learning curve and productivity. I achieved positive intermediate results, enabling the creation of highly productive features for my stakeholders even after the first day of use. It is accessible for individuals with basic knowledge of data structures and no programming skills, yet it is remarkably flexible for experienced developers to quickly generate low-code solutions using SQL and JavaScript. Intuitive functionalities seamlessly operate when experimented with, particularly when users comprehend the object/component model and data bindings. I discussed with my stakeholders the transformation of 40-hour tasks into a mere 4-hour cycle encompassing development, testing, and release.
It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to connect to standardized data sources such as Postgres or other DBMS, as it allows me to employ alternative solutions for tasks like backup, data migration, or other data governance procedures. As a multi-client team, utilizing multiple connections enables me to maintain the segregation of client data within our cloud structures or within dedicated client structures in a secure manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
Use cases with special requirements are either not supported or are addressed through workarounds. It appears that the Retool engine prioritizes optimization, maintaining a well-balanced component dependency tree. However, this safeguard introduces a barrier that I anticipate could be overcome by incorporating custom React components into the architecture.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All internal system management (every system for collaborators, partners and so on) spending less time in software development.
Retool is our perfect backend for our app

We have a great overview on the events we're running in our app. Also the difrent tabs you can make and the analyses are really good
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when there is to many data in the tabels there occures a bug.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The backend of our app is running in Retool we can see all our users and events we're running.
The no-code tool that goes beyond internal apps
What do you like best about the product?
They have a vision that goes beyond just building internal apps, and that proves to be very useful. You also want to be able to quickly pull together some marketing or sales tool, or want to collaborate with partners. That's where most no-code tools fail and retool does not. Next to that, the functionality covered by ready-made scripts or no code features is larger than most tools offer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their starting point that 1 tool = 1 page can be circumvented, but it's better if that design concept would be a bit more flexible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To build a finished tool without help of developers and in fast iterations.
