What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I worked as a marketing consultant for some time and managed to manage up to ten projects with Asana at the same time. This service helps to virtually eliminate the work with e-mail and work much more efficiently. People in my team know exactly what to do and when to do it. My clients know exactly what is happening with their projects. And I know how to plan my day. Communication is directly related to tasks and results - this is really important.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- At least 2 times a day go to the My tasks section and select the Calendar tab to monitor the task status and deadline
- Transfer tasks from work immediately from mail / chat to Asana
- You can not change the date of the task without comment
- If the user performed part of the task and had to transfer it to another responsible person, but forgot to do this, he and the project manager are to blame. If the task was moved to another user after 18:00, you also need to change the date by putting out tomorrow, and indicate the status in the comment to the task
- At the end of the working day there should not be a single task with the date of the current day

Asana Works Great for Simple Database Usage
What do you like best about the product?
I use Asana for a small side business that I run. It helps me to track current clients, former clients, potential clients, and track communications with all of them. Additionally it provides a simple platform to collect contact information, set reminders, etc. I use the free account, but it offers all of the features I need for the simple nature of the business I use it for.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is that the mobile app doesn't always communicate flawlessly with the desktop version. It seems to have a few glitches, but those seem to occur less and less over time. I do believe the company is working to fix these issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently using Asana as a small database for my business. It allows me to track conversations, contact information, and create queues of those I need to connect with, including past, present, and potential clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are running a small to medium sized business and are looking for a cost-effective solution to your database needs, check out this product. It is simple, easy to use, accessible across devices, and allows you to easily access stored information. I use this software to track conversations and contact information, to create to-do lists of past, present, and potential clients I want to connect with, and to track other business activities. This software is a time-saver for me for sure! I am grateful for the free version of this as well.
Asana a Great Feature to Hold Yourself Accountable
What do you like best about the product?
I love how I can share and collaborate lists and calendars with my team, which holds me accountable to my deadlines. Asana also took a lot of time on the design, so it's a modern minimalist look with a high priority of graphic integrity and usability. I've used similar programs and Asana is by far the most tech forward and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't add multiple team members to a single task, which has turned into a big problem. Also, sometimes I want to add a person's name to a project without having them download and sign in to a list. I wish it were possible to add names to an item without including their email just for tracking purposes and visibility for the rest of the team. Also, I have to click into an item before editing or marking off. All those clickthroughs mean I inevitably find it too time consuming to add end edits tasks, so I stop creating lists or keeping them up to date. While Asana is a great tool, there are definitely more updates to be done to make it more user friendly. Also, I REALLY wish that it were possible to integrate all these dates and calendars directly into Outlook so that I didn't have to compare and contrast my Asana calendar with my Outlook calendar. Automatic synching between Outlook and Asana would entice me to actually pay for a premium account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team collaboration on projects. Keeps everyone on track by keeping deadlines top of mind.
One of the best project management tools out there
What do you like best about the product?
Using Asana for many years and on multiple projects in various organizations (and personal), I can really recommend Asana as project management tool. It's not your all- in-one tool, but the simplicity makes the technology disappear so that you can focus on the work. If you need some more functionality, the integrations with other services work great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the limited feature-set is concerning, because you have to pay another company again for more features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All project management and remote working team management.
Asana for commercial cleaning
What do you like best about the product?
Asana gives us the ability to communicate with all levels of management. It allows us to find new and interesting ways to solve problems
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the structure of the projects can get a little confusing for newer users. Generally after a little bit of training and time using the product it gets easier
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has allowed us to affectively manage the projects that we have on a day-to-day basis. Instead of things getting lost in translation. Instead of things being forgot about. We have everything in one place
Good app for project management
What do you like best about the product?
Good for project management but not as seamless and funny to use as a MeisterTask or with as many powerups as Trello. Asana is generally used by a lot of my suppliers and that is why I use it. It has grown in terms of user functionalities and design and it is now much better. You can create projects, tasks, tasks groups, etc. You can do all kind of things inside the tasks such as attach documents, comment, set dates, responsible persons, tags, etc. The iOS app is a great app and you can do everything on the app that you can on the web. You also have a great calender view.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks the kanban board and the sexy and fun CX. Lacks also the Gantt chart view. It is not so fun to use as Meistertask and Trello.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To manage all kind of Projects with partners and clients. Generraly I'm invited to use the app by a supplier or client and I manage the entire project through the app. So that way you don't have to send e-mails or messages or call, you do everything on the app and that way it is easy to see the project satus and the tasks status. Also every comment and document of the project is easely find within the app on a search functionality. You can invite others to joint the project, give them tasks, etc. Is a great way to do it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should give it a try. also consider MeisterTask and Trello
Asana keeps me sane
What do you like best about the product?
Asana keeps my life organized. Asana allows me to keep my work organized. What's great is that not only am I organized I can keep my clients organized as well. It's a no pressure way of reminding your clients what they need to do and they can see what you have been doing too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the different views confusing. Sometimes finding your projects between the different tabs is slightly difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a great way to keep all my Clients organized.
Lots of features but I don't feel more organized
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it possible to collaborate with others -- to have shared to-do lists and events with all my co-workers so that we can coordinate within our team and across various teams in order to make projects happen. I like the way it's possible to create different projects and dashboards and to assign tasks to specific individuals.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to add another site/login to my daily work process -- I find that I still jot things down on post-its or use my calendar application to keep track of things I need to do, instead of putting them in Asana. It's also difficult to track where things are in a process or to schedule the order in which things need to happen. Also, it's possible to assign things to someone, but they don't necessarily have to acknowledge/accept that the tasks were assigned.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving the problem of multiple people working on the same issue without coordinating. Benefits include less duplication of work responsibilities and fewer conversations about "has anyone thought of x" or "has y been addressed." It's easy to find invoices, documents, and materials related to a particular project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend you evaluate what existing productivity tools you're using, and determine whether it's better to invest more in those (or upgrade to more elaborate versions of them), or to add another tool instead -- in which case you may want to divest from some of your current business practices.
Keeping the ever growing task-list organized
What do you like best about the product?
My husband and I can see every task we've recorded n addition to assigning those tasks to a certain person at a particular time. Takes the stress off us to remember everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, nothing really. The dislike is more with myself for forgetting to do what Asana tells me to do! :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time and task management, communication between partners
Easy, intuitive and good for small teams
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have oversight of both my tasks and those of my team members is very important. It's easy to set deadlines and stay on track. It has also seemed to have adopted certain elements from trello and other productivity tools which have helped create a more complete product.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are better tools for more graphic-intensive projects. All users on the same domain are automatically included in the same account. This is ok for smaller teams, but for larger more disparate teams this seems like it could create some organization issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a distributed team so it is important that the entire team is able to keep track of what the others are working on. It promotes accountability and allows us to adapt as needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We did trials of a few different options, and our trial with Asana helped cement our decision. If your team is small enough it can stay free and if you're looking for a way to manage your projects, no reason not to try it.
