Asana Makes Getting Stuff Done Enjoyable

  • May 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is one of the few tools I’ve used that actually feels simple and helpful. I use it for everything for my day to day! The layout is super intuitive — nothing feels overly complicated, and it’s easy to jump in and actually use it without a huge learning curve.

Also the celebration animations when things get checked off are super satisfying. It keeps everything clear, keeps things moving, and helps you feel like you’ve got a handle on things — even when your to-do list is a mile long.
What do you dislike about the product?
My least favourite part about Asana is the paywall... I think there are a lots of really cool features and automations that require a subscription that I'm unable to access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping us stay organized as a team, documenting things properly and also serving as a communication tool.

Asana as a Project Management Tool

  • May 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I love about Asana is that it provides a clear and organized way to keep track of all the projects I manage. It allows me to break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable subtasks whenever necessary, which makes it much easier to stay on top of deadlines and ensure that no detail gets overlooked. I also appreciate the ability to create dedicated teams within the platform, so I can easily share project updates, assign responsibilities, and collaborate more efficiently with my colleagues. Asana helps me maintain visibility into the progress of each project and keeps everyone aligned and accountable throughout the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I appreciate many aspects of Asana, I feel that the platform could be more user-friendly and easier to navigate in certain areas. For example, features like setting the recurrence of tasks were somewhat difficult to understand at first. It wasn’t immediately clear how to configure repeating tasks in the way I needed, and I found myself searching for help or experimenting to get it right. I believe that improving the intuitiveness of these types of functions would make the overall user experience much smoother, especially for new users or those who don’t have time for extensive training. Making key features more accessible and self-explanatory would go a long way in enhancing Asana’s usability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has been incredibly helpful in keeping track of all my tasks, especially given that I’m often managing multiple projects at the same time. It provides a centralized space where I can clearly see what needs to be done, set deadlines, and prioritize my workload effectively. This has been essential in helping me stay organized and focused, while also reducing the chances of important tasks falling through the cracks. With Asana, I feel more in control of my responsibilities and better equipped to manage the demands of working across various projects simultaneously.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Keeps remote teams organized

  • May 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I work for a fully remote organization and Asana really helps us stay on track with large projects that involve numerous teams and stakeholders. I find it to be a very user-friendly software overall and use it weekly, if not daily!
What do you dislike about the product?
Within our org, there is not a standard for how to use Asana, which means that everyone's organizational methods are different— the platform is so flexible that it can be a challenge to achieve uniformity. This can result in confusion when others are added to a project that another person set up, which may make sense to them but not to others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping our remote team, along with other teams and stakeholders we work with, stay on track with projects that involve numerous deadlines and moving parts.

A flexible and powerful tool for cross-functional collaboration

  • May 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is one of my favorite tools because it truly adapts to the way you work. Whether you're looking for a lightweight task manager or a fully customized project tracking system, Asana can be as simple or as robust as you need it to be. It's especially effective for collaborating across departments—providing clear visibility into interdependent tasks, timelines, and responsibilities.

I also appreciate how easy it is to store and organize documentation directly in Asana, so everything lives in one place. The ability to create and customize fields gives you total control over how you track work, which is incredibly helpful for managing complex or varied workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I’d love to see is more granular control over the left-hand navigation. Right now, favoriting projects is the only real way to prioritize what shows up there. I’d prefer to fully customize which projects are pinned and how they are sorted—ideally with folder structures that allow for drag-and-drop ordering.

Also, while Asana supports a wide range of integrations, I’ve run into some frustrating roadblocks when connecting tools like SharePoint. Even as the designated Asana admin with admin access in SharePoint, I sometimes get blocked due to overly rigid permission requirements. A smoother integration experience with more flexible admin controls would make a big difference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Asana, we were relying on emails sent to a single subject matter expert for internal requests, which often led to confusion, lost tickets, and inconsistent turnaround times. With Asana, we've built an internal ticketing process across departments using intake forms for different request types. Now, everything is centralized, easy to track, and visible to the right stakeholders—making it much easier to prioritize and deliver timely support.

Managing workflows and creating actionable tasks

  • May 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana shines as a take manganent system. I love the way you can implement simple workflows and automations to make real progress on important goals and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish is had a better database management system, similar to Airtable. I appreciate using custom fields, but they are a bit clunky at times to make mass changes to a group of items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us solve automating our event management systems.
