A solid easy to use PM software with a minimal learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
It was very easy to learn and implement in existing processes and workflows. The teams that needed to adopt it didn't have a large learning curve and were able to learn it very quickly. It can also be used in various degrees depending on the user which is nice for those that have various roles within a project.
The implementation and integration was seamless and the customer support was always great.
I also loved the different visual components of seeing and managing projects and tasks (list view vs. calendar view). It became crucial across the business for various programs and projects from ICs to Senior Leadership.
What do you dislike about the product?
The functionality at times was frustrating specifically linking certain tasks and projects. There are a lot of instances where a singular task was relevant for multiple projects and it was impossible to migrate them so they updated simultaneously across the projects. This made some of the updates feel repetitive and unnecessary which decreased adoption for a few people on the team(s).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cross functional collaboration and communication
Time management
Resource allocation and efficiency
Process standardization
Documentation
A highly stable solution that can be used for project management and task management
What is our primary use case?
We use Asana for project management and task management.
What is most valuable?
Asana has a wonderful user experience that is very easy to interact with and has tons of integrations with other products and tools.
What needs improvement?
Asana should provide the ability to have read-only users. Sometimes, I need to collaborate with people external to my organization, and I would love to invite them to my Asana board and assign tasks to them. Sometimes, these are short collaborations. I work in marketing, and sometimes I work with agencies.
I would love to do project management on my side, which would be way easier. It's difficult to have short-term collaborations with external users because the operations team owns the final licenses, and I work for marketing.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Asana for five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Asana is a highly stable solution.
I rate Asana ten out of ten for stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Around 250 to 300 users are using the solution in our organization.
I rate Asana ten out of ten for scalability.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have previously used different tools like monday.com and Productive.
What other advice do I have?
I am using the latest version of Asana. I was not involved with the solution's setup, but I was involved in onboarding the users, which was very easy.
I have contacted Asana's technical support with questions on how to do advanced things. Asana provides you with extensive documentation and documentation on the API so you can develop your custom integrations.
The more people use Asana, the easier it is to collaborate, and you will reduce a lot of messaging, email back and forth, and all those not-very-smart things that take a lot of time. Anyone who is considering using Asana should maximize their potential. Asana has many features like approvals, workflows, and automation, and it's best to spend some time learning them.
We were forced to take two hours of our time to learn how to use Asana, and it's a life savior. You can see people using Asana like any other tool, and then you have advanced users who utilize all the potential and boost productivity. You can really tell the people who are proficient with Asana in terms of productivity.
Overall, I rate Asana ten out of ten.
Simplicity
What do you like best about the product?
Incredibly useful tool especially nowadays with WFH it is very rare to have everyone on a team in the office and within walking distance to ask questions or stay on top of. Asana allows us the ability to assign and monitor each other's progress. I think even if we all returned to the office full time it would still be used as it just helps us remove so much wasted time and we are able to immediately identify where we are falling behind and support one another as a team to complete our targets and consistently meet deadlines I wish I had thise years ago.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing it did take a little while for me to be comfortable assigning and monitoring a large team but only a few days and I have been the go-to person when hiring new people to ensure they are up to speed with Asana and how our team operates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing multiple projects is always difficult esecially the smaller insignificant ones that often can get away from us. By setting deadlines and reviewing peoples comments and explanations as to why a deadline has or hasnt been met on time I can advise from Asana without the need to meet dozens of people individually saving myself and them time
Efficient project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I can see at a glance the tasks need to be completed, while the subtasks or details about it are hidden.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are limitations in its features. The app is also not as friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When launching a project, it helps in knowing what needs to be done at a glance. Then all that needs to be done is look at the details of the task when you hover over the right side of the task.
Great for managing marketing and web projects
What do you like best about the product?
Asana was useful for keeping our marketing projects on track, especially when there was multiple contributors and stakeholders. I like how I could get updates in Slack and it connected to our JIRA instance as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana took some work and getting used to in the beginning for setting up projects and workflows to easily show status and progression.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing team collaboration. Asana gives us Request Forms and tracking, project management.

What do you dislike about the product?
I hope Asana can integrate more with other tools and expand their customization options.

Asana helps us structure our projects by breaking it down into tasks, subtasks. It also helps in collaboration by allowing us to assign tasks, share files and communicate within the platform.

Easy to teach Clients to use it.
Easy to Implement.
Has great features for keeping track of Multiple Projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is my project Management Tool of Choice. I have been able to keep multiple projects running and well-managed because of Asana. Training and Integrating Asana with Google Workspace and Hubspot has made my life even better.
A user friendly Project Management system
What do you like best about the product?
Once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy to use and user friendly. It helps us to keep things organized and projects on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
It gets costly very fast and can be difficult to figure out account details and the reasons that things get so pricey. I had quite a few back and forths with their support to try to figure it out and I was still confused at thee end of it. So, Asana is not that scalable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to keep all of our client projects straight, keep specific collaborators within each project, use due dates etc to keep everyone on track. We use the Milestones feature to track how things are moving, etc. We are able to see for each client where their project is and what roadblocks there may be, etc.
Intuitive and Inclusive
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is easy to use for everyone, not just the IT folks. I found it easy to onboard business users into the tool witout having to give them a tour of the product. It's a great tool for keeping project communication organized. Owing to the integration with email, everything that's written on the tool, also goes out as email to the relevant stakeholders, which means it serves as a centralized repository of information without trying to bypass our email addiction. :-)
All project documentation can be stored with the project at the relevant task level, so there is no need to go searching in multiple libraries.
The rules and workflow features are useful for automating repeating activities.
Overall, I would recommend Asana for anyone who is managing a continuous stream of small and medium-sized projects, as well as those who manage repetitive request-based tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike except the fact that it's not yet a product for managing programs, i.e. a large project with sub-projects and multiple workstreams that are interdependent.
There are no features for measuring how much a project has shifted from its original plan, i.e. original dates vs. revised dates.
I am hoping that these are somewhere in the product roadmap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana provides structure in an environment where earlier there was no distinction between a project and an operational bug fix. We no longer lose track of work that came via email. There is a better management of the work queue and therefore, a better way to manage customer expectations.
Great tool
What do you like best about the product?
Keeping everyone on track and getting notifications
What do you dislike about the product?
Tag system quickly becomes a confusing eye-sore, not enough colours to choose from
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
