The Task Management App that strikes functionality & simplicity
What do you like best about the product?
I love Asana because it's easy to use. Such a relieve to onboard new users in my team to use the app. Beside that, we have been using it since 2018 and haven't noticed any slow down in loading all the tasks!
What do you dislike about the product?
The free features keep decreasing. I understand this from the business point of view, but some features should have been in the free tier instead of paid one. Also, the subscription is a bit steep if you're not doing business in USD.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana solve the problems of task management and task delegation because it has all the histories. It keeps getting better without adding too much features like other competitors do.
Asana just made my days a whole lot easier
What do you like best about the product?
Just stepping up to using a project management software from sticky notes on my wall has been a tremendous boost in my productivity so I want to caution readers that this is the only one of it's type I have tried so keep that in mind. I did demo briefly a few others but going from post-its on my wall to any PM software is like discovering fire for the first time. Being an extreme non-technical serial founder I've always had a tech geek or two or five in a back room somewhere doing all this for me...I'd slide pizzas under their door a few times a day and out would come my finished project. But my technical co-founder on this startup and I had a falling out and he bailed at a point to get another into the mix and up to speed so I'm taking this one as a solopreneur and doing all the tech side myself so also take that into consideration as well as meaning...If I can do it a pig wearing a birthday hat can do it ok? So the basic UX around this one is VERY easy to grasp right away. That's what I needed and that's what I got right away.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike all the little daily reminders nipping at my heels which you don't have to have turned on but as a procrastinator, I need them so I have them turned on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The team I have is a new Co-founder who brings wealth and knowledge with her within the industry (vacation rentals) and years of high-level corporate management experience with her but she's out of state doing what she does all day long so she does not relieve me from wearing two hats. The basic premise of this one is not an app or piece of code but rather more of a real estate fix and flip when you boil it all down starting out with the renovation of 8 structures situated on 20 acres of open range up at 9,200ft in a national forest, followed by the complete rebuilding of all utility infrastructure then adding in glamping sites, events, and last but not least a sidebar 501c3 Equestrian Therapy component. That boils down to a lot of post-it notes of many different colors on my walls with string running from one to another as complimentary projects or successive projects. Follow? So what Asana has done for me is provide me with a very "pig in a birthday hat" easy solution.
Asana is the online agenda everyone needs!
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great collaborative space where your entire team can create tasks, share and assign projects as well as give you a to do list to remind you of your tasks! It's so helpful for teams that intertwine on many projects!
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can take some time getting use to. It also does not have a time-tracking feature, which could be useful since it is focused on organization and project management!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps our company stay organized and on top of deadlines! It helps us communicate, plan and schedule many projects! Definitely helps our productivity and keeping each other accountable.
Who. What. When. Clear way to reduce conflict.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is built on the basics: track who will do what, by when. This is the foundation of integrity. The many features of Asana build upon this foundation, with a rich, easy user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana's flexibility (it can be configured for many different use cases) can be hard for beginners to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps teams, individuals, and organizations to clarify and communicate on their way to achieving their objectives. I find it intuitive to track my deliverables, coordinate with other stakeholders, and connect work across functions.
Great project/task management tool for a small but growing team
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is helpful for our small nonprofit team as we grow both in size and need for systems/accountability. The project templates are helpful and so are the rules and forms you can create for workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
So many of the helpful features are only available when you upgrade your plan, and that information is not very clear when you watch tutorial or help videos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up project templates has saved us so much time and helped our team plan/work further ahead on projects so we are not doing things as rushed/last minute as we were before.
Vital to our non-profit
What do you like best about the product?
I like the transparency and flexibility in organizing work streams and collaborations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the reporting features, including exporting, to be lacking. I would also like the ability to sort by "Start Date" in List view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's transforming the way teams think about group collaboration and the documentation of tasks (and level of task granularity).
Great Project Management/Task Manager for Teams
What do you like best about the product?
Subtask management is very helpful. Allowing multiple people to be assigned to the same task using subtasks without duplicating the parent task. Being able to audit number of tasks per team member is great too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The boards can get a little wide and lots of scroll time. When they get too big we have to create a new board. It would be nice to have some features to manage the size of boards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is solving task and team management issues. Our team of 10 is able to collaborate and complete different pieces of a single task and know what each persons role is.
One of the best PM tools out there
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a centralized hub for storing project information. Instead of having separate spreadsheets, resourcing software and communications channels, Asana allows me to assign, track and communicate with stakeholders all in one place while also sending update notifications to Slack and Email.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can be a bit overwhelming at first for those not used to such a comprehensive tool, but the onboarding video series is a great resource to help less tech-savvy folks learn how to use it at their own pace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps my team manage resources, schedules and workflows at a project and portfolio level. We can also track our performance metrics and share progress updates with all stakeholders in-app or choose to export reports.
A great project management tool with lots of customisable features.
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about Asana is the ability to manage my team's resources using the workload function. This enables me to adequately manage my team's workload, ensure no single person is taking on too much, and identify capacity gaps.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to be able to assign tasks to more than one person at a time and for dates in templates to be able to be set to "x days after preceding task" rather than after the start date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workload management, project management from one centralised location, the ability to see all of a colleague's work in one place (across different projects) makes it easier to reallocate work in the event of absence.
Asana organizes tasks for team in a complete and easy to use way
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of features and filtering possible make it easy to make sure tasks are organized, on track, and going in the right direction. Collaboration is so easy when a team is using Asana in a consistent manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, everyone uses Asana in different ways. This makes it hard to stay in sync and keep everyone on the same page. I'd love to see more functionality with Rules across projects, more ways to report on work, and ways to recover orphan tasks so nothing gets lost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it's easy to tell who is working on what and being able to see where our capacity issues and bottlenecks stem from. When we are able to identify what tasks are consistently getting left behind, we are able to plan an actionable fix. The team is definitely more in sync now and it's great to be able to see the progress on things as we go.
