Project Manager's Friend
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great place to keep track of all your team's projects in one place, with the ability to easily view and update your tasks asynchronously. The available integrations are also super helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can take a bit of getting used to for a team and takes some habit forming for it to be used consistently (and thus effectively). I do wish pulling reports was easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me solve the problem of tracking down updates on my team's projects. Asana also makes it easier to see which projects and tasks are off-track, as well as reporting progress to others.
Efficiency is Key for Success
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to collaborate with other departments on personnel and project needs. Having the feature to submit a form and then track the project was very helpful as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found something that I particularly dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We submit referrals through an Asana form to our support services team for our students. It then creates a project to track the appointments and needs of the students. It's helpful because we can all stay informed to better serve our students and can hold each other accountable.
Asana helps me organize my work and be more productive during the day.
What do you like best about the product?
Creating rules is very helpful to prioritize my work on a daily basis automatically. Being able to tag my tasks to projects so I can organize the display based on the type of work I am completing is very nice. I LOVE the celebration when I complete tasks...very motivating for me!
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating tasks through the Asana app and Microsoft Outlook add-in is not as easy/functional as the desktop app/online. Notifications for shared boards can fill up my asana inbox with tasks/ updates that are not totally relevant to my daily work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps us prioritize our daily work so we are proactive instead of reactive to our inboxes and also helps us collaborate on tasks and work progress on shared projects throughout our organization. It is also transparent so when you are added to a project all the historical information on tasks, history, and communication is available. whereas communication via email would be time-consuming to get caught up on requiring forwarding and manual dissemination of historical communications.
Great tool for collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
-Great tool for remote team collaboration
-Helps to keep an eye on team work
-Templates are so helpful - they are allowing us to streamline our work

What do you dislike about the product?
-Some features need very expensive plan upgrades - we are on a paid plan, but would love to be able to do some of the things that are advertised (but we can't afford the upgrade)
-As a non-profit organization, I sometimes have to look harder to find examples that are relevant to our work

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During COVID, we switched to a fully remote model, and having Asana has helped us to be able to communicate more clearly.
Also great for moving away from too many emails.

Invaluable tool for Project Management and team organisation.
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ability to design the tool around the way my business and team work, meaning I can tailor it to each project or requirement. This makes it easier for my team or new members to adopt if they haven't used it already.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike some of the functions not being as smooth or integrated as I would like. Using it with sheets and other systems isn't seamless, and some of the goals could be adjusted to allow for more automation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving multiple problems. It aids me most with my project management by being able to structure and organize my projects and all within them. It also allows me to triage team and company requests that I receive for future projects, requests and other incoming comms. And it also solves the problems of awareness from leadership, as I can share the visibility of my team's workspaces and project boards with others so they can dial in and see status updates remotely.
Asana is KEY To My Team's Success
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part of Asana for our team is the custom fields function. We have been able to use custom fields to mark each task with project numbers to easily search and reference projects completed even years in the past. We also create custom fields to mark which team and team member is requesting each task. This way we can also use the reporting function (which is also amazing) to track which department or person is requesting the most from our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the biggest downside to Asana is its flexibility. Like any software there are many times where I want Asana to do something that just isn't possible. For example, when you are creating subtasks within Asana, it doesn't copy all of your settings from the main task. So you have to go in and manually enter that info for each subtask which is very time-consuming. Also, awhile back they changed the coloring system in Asana which totally messed up our team's entire workflow. I have to use Asana in color blind mode just to fix this issue, which is a really wonky workaround for software as robust as Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our team the main problem Asana is solving is streamlining our workflow and tracking of projects. And I don't mean the day-to-day tracking because that is simple. But for our design team, we create projects daily that can be repurposed and reused in the future. We have hundreds of design tasks completed a month, so where Asana excels for us is the fact that I can search for something we made in September 2021 and if I use the right filters that I have set up, can find that specific file in minutes. I have never had a project management tool that has allowed me to do this the way Asana does.
Asana is a great tool
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes sure all my projects stay on track. I love being able to log tasks when I remember them to ensure I don't forget any important steps along the way
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if some of the premium features were available on the basic plan
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is a great benefit when working with different project teams. It creates visibility and ensures everyone can see the status of projects
Break free of email on your next project
What do you like best about the product?
I like a centralized tool that all team members can see each other's progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adoption can be a challenge. There has to be a leadership champion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integration features in Teams has been very useful. I'm glad to see this continuing to develop.
All the tasks are completed on time, less team meetings.
What do you like best about the product?
The software helps me to stay concentrated and is easy to use while working. Asana has revolutionized our ability to manage massive teams and ensure that all work is completed on time. It's wonderful that I don't need to constantly remind my employees and coworkers to continue working on their respective projects. Asana empowers them to take the initiative in their work, instilling confidence that everything will be completed on time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Except for a few minor issues, I have no complaints regarding this program. However, it would be great if there were features for human resources departments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we started using Asana, I felt like I had to constantly ping my team members to ensure we were on track to complete our projects and tasks on time. Using Asana, I can relax while still keeping track of how the rest of the team is performing. Since the progress can be viewed in real-time, we can hold fewer team meetings to the delight of all involved.
Love using Asana for PM Management (A great tool to use)
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has a very friendly UI/UX, perhaps one of the better ones in the market that is easy to use. The functions e.g. form, rules, etc. are super useful, allow a lot of process automation making our work seamless without needing to manually add tasks and assignees.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limitations on the number of questions the form can ask and also on the number of rules we can set.
We are a heavy user of Asana and we do our own testing on Asana, the advance training session / webinar are also quite simple for us in our opinion. Asana is a tool, but it's the process behind it that makes the tool useful, will be nice to see how other organisations are doing this and share best practices.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has a Community Forum and in fact, some leading Ambassadors who provide useful guidance, I often find a lot of relevant information in this forum, it is my go-to for all my unresolved mysteries. However, a lot of the functions requested since some time back (requested and liked by many users) are not being acknowledged / actioned on / paid attention to.
It's understandable that the organisation needs to consistently prioritise and reprioritise given the limited resources (typical in tech environment), but we hope to see some functions largely sought for are being considered.
