Asana Does What I Need

  • February 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can set up projects in different views depending on my goals. I also like how easy it is to add new tasks and group them by tags, projects, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app isn't fully there yet but it does the job. I don't use it on my mobile a lot so that's not a huge factor for me. I only use 1 feature that is in the paid version, so I'm a little irritated that I have to pay almost $30/month for that one feature, but the free version is more than I would expect, so I get it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to manage work and personal life. It's my go-to to keep everything in my life organized. I forget everything so I need an easy tool to keep everything in a single place.

Asana is everything the team needs in one place

What do you like best about the product?
Thanks to Asana's vast feature set and tool integrations, I can manage a project from start to finish without ever leaving Asana. I can intake requests through custom forms, chat questions to project owners, convert requests to projects or leave them as a task, show timelines in a visually easy to digest way, assign work to teammates with estimated hours, add cross-functional team members for visibility, share design work for review, send final files to the project owner, among other things.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish hours assigned to sub-tasks showed up in the "workload" view on portfolios. We use a custom form to gather project requests for our brand studio team and the requests auto populate in Asana as a task. When the project requests are big we convert the tasks to projects. When the project requests are small, we keep the project as a task and add subtasks for the things that need to get done to complete the project. We like to keep track of the creative team member hours (so we don't overload anyone) but the hours don't show up on their workload when the hours are assigned to subtasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana allows our team to get all the info we need without checking multiple platforms for details or messages. It also helps us share detailed project plans with cross functional partners and track creative team member work loads.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana has just about every feature you could ever need. It's up to you to use it!

Can't imagine (work) life without Asana

  • February 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Picking my favorite Asana feature is like asking me to pick my favorite child. Is it the ability to track the progress of a project across multiple teams? The ability to attach relevant files to their associated task? Maybe it's the (premium) power to mark one task dependent on another. There is so much to Asana that makes my everyday work life so much less chaotic.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love a little more customization at the premium level for controlling team structures. But I'm fairly certain that's available at a higher level of Asana, and that's understandable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana saves us from small pieces of a larger project falling through the cracks. Once our team has identified that something might be overlooked, it simply becomes an Asana task in our Project Templates so we can be confident it's not lost in the process the next time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is a fully free version of Asana available to try. My company used this for several years and Asana became almost a part of our company culture. If you're considering Asana I'd recommend starting there and once you love it upgrade to unlock additional features--you won't be disappointed.

Asana = Key to Organizing Organizations!

  • February 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is extremely easy to use and learn. The platform constantly adds new features and functions, keeping it competitive among other platforms in the same space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can sometimes move features to new places when the platform gets updated. This can be a little tricky if you're not constantly engaging with the feature announcement emails/videos/webinars, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There was no task tracking system available for my organization when I joined. They tracked projects in a google spreadsheet, but there are no features for automations/workflows in place to automate the process. We also use Asana to track workloads/available hours, goalsetting, and overall office productivity.

Easy to Use Project/Task Management Application

  • February 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use of Asana and the ability to have access to quite a few features, even with a free plan tier. The ability to create recurring due dates is a key feature that helps keep projects on track, and the use of templates speeds up our project creation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a way to assign the same task to a team or multiple assignees instead of only to a specific individual. I also feel like there are some business tier features such as goals and portfolios that could be expanded to allow them to be more helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we are solving is to clarify who is supposed to be doing what and by when. It also helps give accountability to tasks as well as helping those in management to see the progress on certain tasks or projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free trial and see if it fits your general needs.

Powerful project and goal management

  • February 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows for quick task and project management. This helps teams and organizations in getting aligned by linking tasks together.

Stop managing tasks scattered across different tools, and start simplifying visibility
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion there aren't that many things to not like about Asana, as their roadmap and integrations tighten across the SaaS space. However, if I have to name one thing it would be the roll up off numbers to the parent goals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We quickly realized how much time we were actually spending on copying sheets for project plans then reshaping it to team
Members where comms often happened on a different solution. We're saving a lot of time by centralizing the comms, tasks and projects

Asana is great for management of tasks, both small and large projects.

What do you like best about the product?
It helps me to keep track of my tasks and is very helpful with group projects to see where everyone is up to with their portion of the task. it helps the business run smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
there is some conflict between adding time in asana and harvest that cn get quite confusing for some members of the team. it would be good to just have one system so that there is no longer confusion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
time management was a big issue but with spreading the tasks much easier through asana and seeing how long till the due date this has made things much easier for the team
Recommendations to others considering the product:
it is a great tool for businesses to keep track of projects.

Asana has helped me scale my business and provide a professional face to my clients. Clients have also started using Asana now!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

User friendly PM Tool

  • February 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is a great tool to integrate to ensure communication with teams or to manage projects. Very user friendly and easy to use. It's also free for teams of 15 or less. So it's a great tool for small business to consider.
What do you dislike about the product?
For big teams it will cost you to use this platform. Therefore, if you arent a small business or an individual you will need to pay to use after the trial. Otherwise it's a great tool to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use the platform for managing projects and staying on track with team members. It's a great productivity tool and effective in managing a small or large project. The features are also great and easy to use!

Asana Review

  • February 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. The ability to clearly partition the company into individual teams with all projects and tasks visualized on a workspace.
2. Gives every indivdual more accountability by having all their tasks clearly marked down and collaborators updated.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. More flexible integrations that allows for interactions with more asana features
2. Continue to flesh out recent features e.g. goals, reporting and portfolios
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily, Asana solves the problem of employees having to remember their tasks and deliverables either by writing down on paper or remembering in their brain. The additional features (e.g. rules, subtasks, milestones) further help to delineate features and processes leading to the completion of a deliverable.
