Best project management tool I’ve used

  • February 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has a very clean look, and it's intuitive to find everything you're looking for. It's so easy to create tasks, add attachments, add subtasks, and create automations. For instance, one of my most-used features is creating a task that duplicates itself every time I complete it, but for a future due date. So if I have something I do every week, I don't have to keep creating the task every week. It'll make itself as soon as I've completed the current one I'm working on.
What do you dislike about the product?
The preset notifications and email alerts are a lot. It would be nice if the default were very few alerts, and then you could go into settings and change them later. I found that even after talking with support, I eventually just had to mute Asana in my email because I was getting so many messages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's really helpful for keeping teams organized. You can create views based on all the projects going on within a team, and get a high-level view. This is great for stand ups. Then within the project, individuals can create sub tasks that are most useful to them.

Asana is amazing for helping streamline tasks and make sure you're not losing track of anything

  • February 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to assign tasks and due dates (WITH TIME) to anyone on your team or in your company. You can list out specific team members or branches of your company as well to narrow down employees to assign tasks to.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have too many complaints about Asana. I think it's usage is specific to the way the company utilizes the tool- and most of my complaints would come from our functional usage. Not the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We assign tasks specifically to our data science team because they are sort of hands-off and have a lot of work coming from different directions in the company. This has helped to make sure nothing falls off of their radar. It's been very nice to put in due dates and times so they can prioritize work.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has many beneficial features such as assigned owner, due date, ability to comment, ability to tag/prioritize etc. It's been very helpful for external and internal collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app crashes and isn't very helpful compared to the website. Also, the system can be a bit overwhelming. I've been using the tool for years and still have trouble navigating to my projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility of cross-functional projects and what my coworkers are working on and need help with.

The best alternative to manage work teams and projects in our hands

  • February 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has had a positive impact in my organization, it has helped us to do a better project management and has been fundamental to make work teams more productive. Personally, I feel very comfortable with this platform where I can connect with my colleagues, mark and work on my daily tasks, track our group work and centralize everything related to projects in one place, it has improved our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana has many effective features for managing projects, but it also offers a bit of a steep learning curve, especially for novice users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since its implementation, Asana has represented a before and after in the way we manage projects in our organization; it has imposed a more organized way to manage our workflow and achieve the best possible results in our projects. It is incredible the way Asana has to centralize everything related to each project in one place and how much it contributes to the productivity of the work teams; Asana has made us better, which makes us and our customers happy to see the good results obtained.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended, it is a very interesting and above all effective solution for project management; it has a certain learning curve that once overcome, you will be able to take advantage of everything Asana has to give you; be encouraged.

Standard Project Mgmt System at Work

  • February 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can see all of the projects in the pipeline on your dashboard in one place. I also like how we can send Asana forms to our cross-functional teammates to organize their thoughts into a brief, as my team is service-based.
What do you dislike about the product?
One big limitation of Asana is that it can be difficult to route new work streams. For example, I had to take a work stream off of my colleague's plate but the notification system is still messed up and it's difficult to fix. Also, the way that our project manager has programmed our separate work streams can be confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can see all of our ongoing initiatives in one place and update their statuses through each phase of the campaign process. It is certainly better than keeping a personal to-do list or trying to keep track of everything in your head. It's helpful that we can see the details from each cross-functional colleague in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you know how to organize yourself before trying this product

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project launches (e.g. new softwares) involving members outside of the organization.

    Marketing and Advertising

Simple, straightforward and easy to use

  • February 14, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is an easy to use project managment tool for teams and divisions within larger organizations. It is so easy to learn and very intuitive. Document sharing is a snap, keeping everyone on the same page. The mobile app makes it easy to know where things are in meetings, and on the go. I find myself living in Asana!
What do you dislike about the product?
Advanced features in Asana do take some time to learn. For example, creating a dashboard report takes some knowledge that a new user cannot pick up. Integrations with other software, such as Slack is clunky and problematic in my instance. I have multipe emails for different clients, and as a result, have several different instances of Asana going in my tabs. It would be great to be able to log into it with multiple email addresses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Huge time savings and not missing any details in projects. It helps us to not only track projects, but we use for meeting agendas, status reporting, planning and calendaring of content.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure you have processes in place to enforce adoption.
