What do you like best about the product?
I like that Asana makes it easy to load from Gmail and simplifies the organization of assignments. It's efficient and doesn't require me to track my email anymore. I also find the selection of fields to be easy. The initial setup was very easy, and we switched to Asana because it had a better set of reviews from my colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've found that I have too many open tasks now and that I'm not tracking some of them very well.

Automated Reminders and Summaries Make Project Tracking Effortless

  • December 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. The system provides automated reminders to the assignee, which helps keep tasks on track.
2. Additionally, it generates weekly summaries of project or portfolio progress and status automatically.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Firstly, it would be helpful to have a recycle bin feature that allows users to recover deleted tasks or projects within a set period, such as 14 days, before they are permanently removed. This would give users a chance to restore items they may have deleted by mistake.
2. Secondly, adding keyboard shortcuts for quicker updates and navigation would greatly improve efficiency. Relying solely on the mouse, especially the left-click, can be time-consuming and tends to slow down the workflow for project managers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has offered a common dashboard for real time collaboration by CFT team. Communication gaps is resolved and information flow is streamlined. Single assignee feature makes one person accountable even though there are multiple collaborators working on that particular task.
Asana also generates dashboard on portfolio level on a single click and we can customize the view as per our choice therefore saving a lot of time in creating dashboard for review by senior management.

Innovative Portfolio Structure Makes Project Management a Breeze

  • December 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the idea of portfolios as the skeleton of the house and the projects as the individual rooms
What do you dislike about the product?
Common Pain Points with Asana
1. Can feel overwhelming for new users
Asana’s flexibility is great, but it also leads many teams to say “There are too many views, too many buttons, too many ways to do the same thing.” Onboarding can feel heavy.
2. Too easy to create clutter
Workspaces, teams, projects, subtasks, sections, tasks… without strict conventions, things quickly get messy. Asana doesn’t enforce structure, which is powerful but dangerous.
3. Limited customization compared to competitors
Fields and rules exist, but some people find that Asana’s automation and custom fields aren’t as deep or as dynamic as tools like ClickUp or Monday.
4. Subtasks can be confusing
Subtasks don’t always inherit properties (custom fields, project info, due dates, etc.). They also don’t always appear clearly in timelines or calendars unless manually added to specific projects.
5. No true native time tracking
You need integrations for proper time tracking. The built-in “time spent” field (if enabled) is still very basic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping us solve a few major challenges around clarity, alignment, and execution. Before using it, our work and priorities were scattered across different tools, making it harder to see how day-to-day tasks connected to larger goals. Asana centralizes everything—projects, owners, deadlines, and progress—so the team has one shared source of truth.
This has been especially beneficial as we build out our team goals and strategy map. With Asana’s Goals feature, we can set clear, measurable objectives that ladder up to our broader strategy. Each goal ties directly to projects and tasks, which helps everyone understand how their work contributes to the bigger picture.
The strategy map becomes much more actionable because it’s not just a document—it’s linked to real, trackable work in Asana. That means we can monitor progress in real time, identify risks earlier, and adjust priorities proactively. Ultimately, it keeps the team aligned, focused, and moving in the same direction.

A Game Changer with Versatile Options and Simplicity

  • December 08, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The variety of options that y'all provide. From views, project types. Its easy to use and straight forward enough to be simple. Its been a big game changer for our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have the free version, so lots of features are unavailable and we frequently get pushed towards the paid version. Understandable as a business. Other than that, its a great tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently restructring, so being able to create task list/projects for each team, set it up on a regular cadence, then after set up, our team just needs to execute. It's consolidated lots of oversight.

Seamless Integration, Slight Learning Curve

  • December 08, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I think the best thing about Asana is that it can be easily integrated into other platforms and also integrate other platforms within Asana. This way, it allows us to create different automations that we are currently exploring. It easily integrates into anything, so any application that we already use or tool is, like, 99% sure to integrate with Asana. This capability helps us automate and save time on tasks like creating new projects, triggering populating summaries, or moving things down the pipeline. It's a lot of great things that contribute to our small team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is quite complex, and I find it difficult for other people to work with this tool. Some of my colleagues still prefer writing tasks in Word documents because they find Asana's complexity too much. I think it would be really beneficial if it could be simplified for those who don't need all that complexity. Also, the initial setup wasn't easy. There were many fields and options that were difficult to understand and navigate. It definitely has a learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana for time management and distributing work between teams, improving our efficiency.
