Asana is a great project management tool for specific reasons
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is great for one thing, the completion of the tasks. This includes the follow-up of each task and team member given to that specific task, documents, and critical path of these tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inside of the Project Management criteria, there are some things you have to do first. As is the Project Charter, WBS, Critical Path, etc. As of my experience, Asana works best for the completion of the project, not the creation of the project. There are many project management tools that could be integrated into the platform
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana gives accountability to the team. Every member can see the follow-up of every task for the completion of the project, giving full transparency and accountability of every team member.
Asana is solving problems that other platforms cannot
What do you like best about the product?
There is no better tool for Agile management than Asana. Being able to have multiple views, boards, and tech specific dashboards has truly changed the game for our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much that I dislike, but I would say maybe the pricing if you have a large team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving team/ticket management issues as well as cross-functional dept issues that have not been resolved in the past.
Not for complicated projects
What do you like best about the product?
For basic and simple task management this is a great program. Somewhat easy to navigateand can assign tasks to other team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
For complicated projects this program does not fit the bill. There is no way to copy and paste tasts into multiple sections. Once you have a filter or view set up it doesnt feed into other sections. It also does not aave settings. Every time I log in I have to refilter to see what I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think asana has solved some organizational issues. But has also created more issues as well.
Asana is a great visual tool
What do you like best about the product?
The subtasks that are like a checklist of work for each ticket have helped our team with the workflow, and it is much better than the hot potato ticket system that we were previously using. We can also templatize different ticket types to fit different workflows for various project types, which has been a massive success for our team in getting work done quicker.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting system still appears to be early in its development, only pulling very high lever reports. Getting down to more detailed or cross-person views has proved to be challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team had a workflow issue with our old system since we had hot potato tickets. Asana has helped us fix that issue with the subtask system, along with being able to templatize different ticket types for different workflows.
Easy to use and increased functionality
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has the ability to serve multiple roles within an organization. Personally, I have found the ability to make multiple different boards for different projects very helpful. Also, the ability to see and manage all tasks assigned to you across different boards is a game-changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana's help FAQ and functions are definitely lacking when compared to competitor monday.com. Also, you can only select one team member for each task which makes it difficult to assign work that is being completed by more than one person.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team is using Asana as a to-do list and project management software. We have found that we are able to track and update progress for all projects throughout the life cycle. Documents, statuses, etc. can be easily shared and tagged within the tool. Also, we have used it to create an Agile backlog which has assisted in figuring out what projects are coming up next.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend other organizations and individuals adopt Asana. My team has previously used monday.com and has noticed a definite improvement after switching to Asana. This tool is great for teams of all sizes and especially helpful when multiple projects are being worked on and the team is remote.
Awesome for team /project management
What do you like best about the product?
It has all the functionality that you would need to collaborate with team members on projects. Plus, it's great for individual organization as you can display all your information in a variety of ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I can't see my member's tasks in all the same ways that I can view mine. It would be nice to be able to visualize it in the way I prefer rather than just as a list of all tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Daily task management, project management, organization, and communication. I love that I can pull everything I need into this platform. It saves our agency time and money.
Good Project Management Software
What do you like best about the product?
I like the integration capabilities, which help create a customized experience in a way that leads to personal productivity. I think Asana is also great for tracking personal tasks and smaller team projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The recurring task configuration doesn't seem as effective as it could be. Right now, only the first recurrent task shows up. The next task won't show up until that first task is complete. It would be awesome if there were a way to display multiple recurrent tasks at a time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps our team stay on track when it comes to project management. From an individual standpoint, it's a great tool to keep myself organized and on track.
Asana review
What do you like best about the product?
Good for organising a team project and assigning tasks to members
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not the best software visually. I would prefer another similar program that is more aesthetically pleasing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes project organization much easier and improves productivity, efficiency and communication
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Would recommend it for short form projects rather than long term projects. There may be better programs to help with organization of longer term projects with many shared files.
Usable project management, set back by UI aspects
What do you like best about the product?
Asana works for project management: assigning and updating tickets, seeing what tasks are assigned to yourself, etc
What do you dislike about the product?
When you click on the text box to comment on a ticket. the box gets taller, shifting up the comments above it. When you click off this text box, it reverts to being less tall, shifting down the comments above it. As a result, when you are commenting and try to copy/quote prior comments, you click on the wrong target. I could not find a setting to disable this behavior. Asana would be improved by leaving the text box a constant size. It would also be acceptable to let the user manually resize it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for project management. The benefits are team coordination of tasks.
Asana is amongst our Top 3 choices for project management tools!
What do you like best about the product?
The waterfall project management style helps keep things on track—especially when dealing with rather complex projects that involve different departments & different timeline goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure yet. We're using a few different project management tools ( such as Basecamp, Trello, Notion etc. ) based on different client needs and Asana tends to be one of the top tools we like to use. I truly don't have much I can complain about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Productivity plus meeting deadlines & budgets are the biggest 2 problems that Asana helps us solve.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I strongly suggest that anyone who wants a more productive team and to keep their clients happy - to give Asana a shot. I know there are plenty of options available, however, in my experience Asana is always going to be at the top of the list.
