What do you like best about the product?

I do small scale home renovations and dependencies used to be something only I kept track of in my head, painter can't start till tile's done, tile can't start till the plumber's finished, that kind of chain. If tile ran a few days late, nothing automatically told the painter's task to shift too, so I'd sometimes only catch it when the painter actually showed up to a job that wasn't ready. Set up a rule so when a task marked as a dependency gets pushed back, everything downstream automatically shifts its due date too instead of quietly staying wrong until someone notices in person.

What do you dislike about the product?

Got the rule a little too aggressive at first, had it shifting dates on tasks that weren't actually blocked by the delayed one, just happened to be scheduled around the same time, so I had to go back and fix which tasks were genuinely dependent versus just coincidentally close together on the calendar.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not finding out about a scheduling conflict because a painter physically showed up to a job site that wasn't ready has saved me more than one awkward phone call. Getting the actual dependency logic right took a bit of cleanup after I first set it up too broadly, worth being more careful about which tasks are truly linked before turning a rule like this on.

Easy to update tasks. Easy to see overall view of each project

Can get crowded. Can be hard to find my project in a long list without manually reorganizing it

Project management task and deliverable tracking is simplified

What do you like best about the product?

I use Asana for the projects where one task usually passes through a few people. For example, a content request might start with me, go to design, then come back for approval. I can see the handoff in the same task, which is much better than asking each person where it stands. I also use subtasks quite a bit. They are useful for those jobs where the main task looks simple but actually has five little things behind it.

What do you dislike about the product?

My only real complaint is that our projects can get messy when everyone starts adding their own way of doing things. We had tasks with different naming styles, random fields, and sections nobody understood. Cleaning that up took some time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Asana works best for me when the work is shared. For my own small reminders, I don't really need it. But once a task involves other people, deadlines, files, and approvals, I find it much easier to keep everything in one place. One feature I use more than I expected is task comments. A quick decision stays with the work instead of getting buried in an old chat message. The timeline is also handy when one late task starts pushing several others.

What do you like best about the product?

I was job hunting a while back and honestly my system before this was just chaos, forty tabs open, a notes app with half typed reminders, completely losing track of which company I'd already followed up with. Set up a board with columns for applied, interview scheduled, waiting to hear back, and offer, then just dragged each company's card across as things moved. Sounds basic but actually seeing everything laid out like that stopped me from double emailing a recruiter who'd already responded, which I'd genuinely done more than once before setting this up.

What do you dislike about the product?

There's no limit on how many cards can sit in one column, so my applied column ballooned to something like thirty entries at one point and just became this long scroll instead of something I could glance at quickly. Had to manually sort through and archive rejected ones myself since nothing does that automatically.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Going from scattered tabs and half remembered follow ups to an actual visual board changed how manageable the whole job search felt, even on weeks where I was applying to a lot of places at once. Not having any kind of cap on column size meant I had to police that myself, which is a small annoyance but not a dealbreaker. For something I was only using for a few months during an active search, it did exactly what I needed without me having to build anything complicated.

The ease of organizing and assigning tasks

It's confusing to assign tasks to different projects/low project capacity

Streamlining task organization amongst different people + communicating updates without the need for meetings

It's consistent across the UI and let me do lots of different integrations and automations.

It could have more themes or colors to choose from for personalization

Keeping the team organised, and having oversight of tasks and projects

Sometimes new features are introduced which we don't necessarily want to use but can't turn off

Team and project management - more team morale, and clarity. Better performance.

It is an intuitive tool and centralises reporting.

I haven't used the tool long enough to know.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Duplicate reporting is currently a pain point for us so Asana allows for multiple reports to be extracted from one set of data.

I like that it helps keep me organized. I’m still learning how to use it, but it already makes a big difference in keeping everything in order.

What do you dislike about the product?

I can’t search for something if it’s in a custom field.

Task things to do around the office and with office staff

What do you like best about the product?

All tasks can be organized across different project boards, and each board can be managed and reviewed by different owners.

What do you dislike about the product?

The AI still isn’t advanced enough to help set up more organized templates, tasks, and similar items.

It helps me make sure nothing gets missed and that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
