I really love Asana.
What do you like best about the product?
I love the way that Asana creates space for meaningful, asynchronous collaboration around work right where the work is being completed. I love the way we've been able to systematize our processes - and especially our communication.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish templates, workflows, and forms could be copied across projects. My job is largely helping people work together, and that means a lot of repetitive work rebuilding things I've already developed in other projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are tracking work, noticing where work is getting stuck and resolving impediments that are slowing us down, creating transparency around what is being done by whom, and facilitating easy meeting agendas around the work that's actually being done!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is so adaptable! You can make this system work for you, especially if you're willing to dive into the (excellent) training videos and establish norms around how you work with others on your team. I am obsessed with Asana because it has given me ease in my daily work.
Asana is the smoothest and prettiest solution to our organizational needs
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is smooth, fast, and beautiful. It's an elegant solution to any project/task management needs that my small company has, and it's more powerful and capable than any other platform I've used.
What do you dislike about the product?
It broke my heart when Asana muted their color palette; I wish that there was more visual differentiation. Also, the inability to save task templates to be used workspace/organization-wide is limiting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before, my team was using Salesforce to house our work and manage tasks. It was clunky, because SF is a CRM and isn't designed to handle project/task management. Asana was obviously created for this very purpose, and it's much more effective.
Best Invention Ever!
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has been a part of my work life for over a year now. As an executive assistant, it keeps me updated on what I need to do so that I never miss an assignment. I would be lost if it wasn't for Asana. Thank you!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about the feature. Everything works exactly as it should and there are never issues with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have never missed an important date or task---thanks to Asana. I can easily share status with my colleagues on pending assignments and share/respond to feedback almost instantly. This is great!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is going to be your new best friend. It is great, easy to use, and for administrative assistants like me, a dream come true. Organize your life now!
Best project management system that I have ever used
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy how user friendly it is. Asana works well with other important systems that my organization uses.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that my organization does not have the Business level of Asana...we're working on it; however, we are a nonprofit
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has helped our team with the flow of project management and accountability for those projects
The tool teams need to do their best work together
What do you like best about the product?
The flexible nature of Asana, meaning whether a team is looking for a simple tool or seeking more complex features, is what I love most about Asana.
In particular, some of my favorite capabilities include board customization to meet a team's specific needs, the ability to build out an entire step-by-step workflow through tasks and subtasks, and the calendar view for a holistic understanding of tasks and deadlines. I use My Tasks to manage my to-do lists and appreciate that I can store my to-dos in one place, even if they aren't tied to a project or board in Asana.
The interface is relatively intuitive once users get over the initial learning curve.

What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on how a team plans to use Asana, or if a user has never dabbled in a project management tool before, Asana can have a steep learning curve. Fortunately, there are many resources available to overcome any learning hurdles.
This may be self-explanatory, but I didn't find Asana as valuable when I worked strictly as a sole contributor. Users get more value from the tool when they're using it with one or more team members. Previously, I was granted access to Asana as an executive assistant. My executive team did not use Asana, so I didn't need all the robust features and capabilities to manage my workload.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in business operations, and the main benefits we solve with Asana are communication gaps amongst teams, commitment to project deadlines, and streamlined workflows through templatizing project initiation. Asana enables cross-functional team collaboration and makes it easy to repeat the same steps for projects repeatedly, which helps maintain quality and allows new team members to adopt processes quickly.
It runs our entire remote and in-person operation.
What do you like best about the product?
The accountability is second to none. Having people tag who needs to know what, set deadlines, and make it easy to monitor progress and response has changed our game.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is slow to add features we really need - and I don't love the graphic experience (I do love the narwhals and such - just wish I could make it cleaner appearing). There are add ons that allow us to get the workflow we want but we wish it could either integrate more easily with 3rd party apps or function such that we don't need them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accountability
Communications - we've all but eliminated email
Discovering holes in our processes and finding ways to solve them

Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need to get at least one person certified as an Asana ambassador who administrates and trains, not a full-time role, but it should be someone devoted to that expertise or you won't be successful in adopting it - and you'll likely need to get fluent in Zapier in order to get the most out of the software.
Organization
What do you like best about the product?
The most useful thing about Asana is that it helps you define workflows in your team. The advantages are many: Better organization. Effective productivity. Tracking and achievement of goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I don't like is that it doesn't let me convert already structured projects into the components of another project. I can import or do tasks from another project, but it doesn't allow me to pull the entire project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
definition of processes, structure of new and established areas.
creation of workflows in a department.
Distribution of new tasks
tracking of objectives.

Great tool for tracking tasks and getting work done!
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating a task. This makes it pretty much impossible to forget to record a task for future effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sorting and viewing items is very limited. This should be expanded so that data can be filtered in any way which is useful to the organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking recurring tasks, yearly renewals, etc. The benefit is that these things can be worked proactively instead of reacting to an overdue notice.
Experience of a Project Manager
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility and user experience. I also like Project, teams and tasks organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike absens of gantt, dahboard for management, repository for documents, export Dashboard for customers reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration with different Teams , reducing emails, alerting for incoming tasks.
Effective for managing EVERYTHING
What do you like best about the product?
I love how Asana keeps developing more ways to make work more fluid. As soon as I can come up with a way that it would be more useful, they release features that help solve my issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the initial learning curve can be a bit steep for someone who's never used task management before. Sometimes there is more than one way to accomplish a task and it can make it overwhelming to figure out the "right" way to get something set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving how to effectively transfer work and information between team members without needing meetings. Our office is 100% remote and it would take so many meetings to get everyone as on the same page as Asana does. We can collaborate seamlessly with Asana!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Asana to anyone wanting to collaborate work tasks across teams and even just for daily task tracking.
