We absolutely love Asana for the workplace

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is hugely useful for our fully remote team. It is straightforward and easy to use for members of all tech backgrounds, and it helps us to organize our writing and marketing projects in an intuitive way. We are able to make some projects private and others public, and to keep all of our work organized by client. It's a great tool for our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
We do wish that Asana were a bit more affordable. It is a little pricey to upgrade beyond the basic level, which you do need to do in order to get any sort of privacy settings. Being a larger team we do need to keep certain projects private. Otherwise, we have no complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is large and fully remote. We are able to effectively manage our entire workload and keep tabs on what all team members are doing by using Asana. In addition, Asana integrates with many of the other tools we use, like Harvest.

From Marketing Based Product Manager

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to join, invite someone, create a project, use sub-task structure and DUE DATE
What do you dislike about the product?
I prefer to add component or label to categorize tasks. If you have this features, it is not easy to find because I have never used these before. Also Kanban board view would be perfect for us. MB limit for files is also annoying me. Sometimes I need to add video like more than 100 MB but I can't (I know it is very normal and cost benefial but as a user, I want to be fast while creating tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am managing our Facebook and Google Advertising team on Asana. It is bringing us some benefits such as writing briefs, setting due date and assignee. Collaborator feature is perfect for us because sometimes we have more than 1 person to solve issues. Notifications is working perfect also. I didn't miss any issue after using asana.

Perfect for use across teams!

What do you like best about the product?
This platform is able to work as "big picture" OR as "detail-focused" as you like! It's easy to communicate across teams, and the Outlook integration makes creating tasks a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
I frequently have to sign back into my account, but this is more of an inconvenience than a true disklike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team communication has improved, progress tracking is simpler which is great for teams working virtually, in different time zones.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Allow team members to discover their own uses instead of just saying, "this is how we want yu to use it."

Great for teams, helps you manage assignments and assign them to your teammates.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the different tabs that you can use to view different assignments. I also love how easy it is to add collaborators and to assign tasks. It doesn't stop you from assignming even if you are not the supervisor for example. I also love the different options such as the board view as opposed to just a list view for example.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a function to view all tasks in general and not have to go through to each tab to view current assignments. Also, I noticed that on some of the tabs (teams) when you mark an assignment complete, it disappears which is confusing because then you can't see your progress right on the page or if you need to re-work or check something it's gone. I also wish that there was maybe a drive or some way to share larger projects right on the upload part.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my job, we are completely remote, so Asana has been very helpful in collaboration and allowing teams to run smoothly. It also helps act as a hub where all assignments are approved and has even replaced a separate scheduling calendar. One of the main problems was a lack of organization and going through many emails to track down correspondences of different assignments. With Asana, everything is in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an excellent tool for collabing and keeping track of due dates. For bigger files, you can always use Google drive files to keep things running smoothly.

To me, Clarity = Asana

What do you like best about the product?
I have a lot on my plate and I remember how lost I was before Asana. Now, I create my weekly projects every Sunday and go through them day by day. It is the best!
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve was steep for me. I had to watch numbers of Youtube videos at the beginning. They had guides I remember, but I'm a visual learner and I didn't find them helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing projects. Metting deadlines.

As an Enterprenure I have to wear many hats and do completely different things. Asana help me get more out of my day and waste less time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have never used a project management tool before search on youtube for tutorials + creative ways to use Asana. There is a lot you can do with it.

Try it for free first. The free version offers a lot.

Great project managing program with essential features!!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana lets you assign a project to a specific team member and allows you to add a due date. You can easily organize your tasks by project and department. The whole team is notified when a project is completed. They also have an IOS app that is integrated with the apple watch and allows you to get notifications each time some edits or adds a project to asana.

Asana was brought into the company at a time where tasks were getting forgotten and pushed back. They were getting lost in emails and instant messenger messages. This was a great tool that has allows us to have more organization and a better flow of tasks. If we have an issue with our software the operations team posts these issues on Asana and allows the program to notify the development team. After this, the development team works on solving the issue or adding the feature the operations team is asking for helping keep the process very organized and simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that anyone is able to change the assignment. If an assignment is assigned to the person it should stay that way unless an administrator or manager changes it. I also don't like that tasks get deleted after they are marked completed. I recommend that the program allows you to see past tasks and projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using the project to keep the whole team informed on what each specific department in the company is doing. This allows us to all be on the same page without having to send emails back and forth. It has helped us keep track of what needs to be completed in all our departments and see what each team member is responsible for.

Thanks to Asana the company was able to target tasks that weren't getting completed in a timely manner and pinpoint where team members were having a fallout with their responsibilities. If a task is overdue Asana adds notifications and sends an email to the assignees.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend you add everyone on your team to Asana from the beginning. People in our team kept forgetting we had implemented the use of Asana and kept sending emails to their upper management to inform them of completed tasks when everything was on Asana. Tasks were getting forgotten or pushed back since team members were not using Asana to its full potential.

Once we made the use of Asana a requirement tasks were getting completed faster. The visual timeline helps keep team members motivated by checking off the completed tasks.

Interesting task management software for company use

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It looks and works in a simple manner, tag multiple users In a task or link up multiple people for a project updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no way to keep a task list to follow without being assigned. The app on the phone crashes and doesn't handle images or downloads well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy way to assign tasks to coworkers . Great for introverts who don't want to talk to people and let's them work in peace
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to use it in small ways to get used to it. Requires everyone else to use Asana too to work well

Excellent Project Management Tool

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana helps with large-scale projects, and while it seems overwhelming at first glance, the platform has a great interface. Everything can be color-coded and tagged in a way that makes it much more manageable when there are 50 or more users workings on multiple projects at once.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many manual checks and balances within Asana, making it easy to forget to mark certain items as complete or tag certain people. Certain things should be automated to reduce opportunities for human error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana promotes efficiency and allows for quick communications across its platform. Tasks are very easy to delegate and users can have visibility to know how far along the project has come.

I wouldn’t have a business if it wasn’t for Asana

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a task management / project management tool that is collaborative, organized, and consistently evolving. This will sound dumb, but they also offer "celebrations" for completing tasks, and it makes me happy to see a unicorn fly across my screen when I check something off of my to-do list.
What do you dislike about the product?
I use a free version for my side business and the paid version for my day job. You don't get advanced search with the free version, which is a bummer, but everything in the paid version is exceptional.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Day-to-day task management and long-term project management. It does it all! It holds everyone accountable, which is the biggest pro, in my opinion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are debating between other project management tools, I've used Wrike and Trello, and Asana has been the simplest to use and set up, while meeting a wide variety of needs. It also does have solid integrations available to auto-create tasks, set notifications, etc.
