I really like the structure/user interface of Asana. It feels clean and organized, without being overwhelming.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I truly dislike about Asana. I've had a good experience with it over the years!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has helped me organize teams for events. I was able to set it up and make sure everyone knew what they needed to do and what their deadlines were. Questions and comments helped us stay focused in one space and solve problems together quickly. I've used Asana to work on planning a retreat for a client, managing general projects, organizing marketing plans and deadlines, and more. It's a really fantastic tool for a variety of purposes!

Help Asana help you! Be thorough and detailed when you set up your organization and task lists. Don't forget to assign users and deadlines to each project!

What do you like best about the product?
It is an application that totally facilitates the work, it is intuitive and interactive, and it is easy to learn to use, I like it because it allows the assignment of tasks in a detailed way and in turn follow each step that is taken in the activity, and thus achieve the fulfillment of each objective. Asana is an interactive software, you can insert names and images to each task, making it more attractive to carry out all the activities, I like it because I can change the order of the tasks, if necessary and the project members can reorganize them too, each collaborator receives updates , facilitating teamwork.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no complaints about the program for now, I have found it simple and useful to use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Asana I can create tasks based on the main tasks, which is advantageous to meet each objective, the use of the software generates a total benefit, we have been able to meet deadlines and delivery deadlines, it is easier to follow up on each project, and correcting any error on time and in the specific objective, allows you to see how all projects are progressing in real time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This software is recommended, all companies must seek the effectiveness of the work in the simplest way, and Asana offers you this service, it is easy to achieve the fulfillment of the objectives effectively.

Indispensable for my daily tasks

  • June 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful about Asana is the clear calendar overview. You can easily distinguish projects by color and quickly notice how much time you have left in a week.
What do you dislike about the product?
You cannot archive a section in a project overview. Our organization works with an overview of tasks per month in list-view, so we would like to archive the months that passed. This way, we can still look back on a specific month if needed but not see it in the overview every time we open a project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management is why we use Asana. It shows our projects in one clear overview and keeps all tasks organized. All members can easily see who is responsible for what job, which lessens the number of emails we need to send to colleagues. It also shows how busy everyone is, so project managers can delegate tasks more efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend setting up an account to get a feel of the software. Many options are already available in the free version.

Increases Overall Productivity

  • June 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can create multiple projects. I like that the free version alone adds so much value to my business and creative projects. I like how I can create boards, sub-tasks and add due dates. I usually write my goals on paper, and brain storm in excel and tranfer everything to ASANA as my last step before I start my hands-on work. As soon as I put everything in ASANA, I know it's going to happen. ASANA keep me accountable and organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not dislike anything about ASANA. ASANA is a way for me to see what I need to get done, when I need to get done and how it fits into my schedule and to-do list,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I create different projects for all my goals, I wish there was a way to put all of my projects on a timeline to see how everything looks together. Usually, I take all my daily tasks schduled in ASANA and put it in a separate to-do list to show what I need to get done on a daily basis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time learning the functions of ASANA. It appears intimidating in the beginning, but it makes sense after you use it a few time.

Managing teams with asana

  • June 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most useful aspect of Asana is the tasks and subtasks. My team and I have a more streamlined method of assigning tasks and prioritizing them. The task deadline setting has also helped us to be more aware of task deadlines and make sure we don't miss deadlines.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the case of Asana solution, I really don't like the option to create task templates
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team uses Asana to manage project deadlines. This enabled managers to track progress more efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My whole experience with Asana has been positive. Asana is a cinch to use and should take no more than a few hours to become used to. I am certain there are other things I have not learned from the curriculum that I am unaware of. Extremely user-friendly.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to organize all tasks by dates, priorities, and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Precisely, when using the "My Tasks" tab, sometimes the screen moves, so it is tricky to navigate on that screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am mainly organizing multiple tasks across multiple projects that involve different people from my team. The top benefit is that I can clearly visualize what I have to get done today and the days after.

Does Not Scale Well - Major API limitations for High Growth Company - Very high switching cost

  • June 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
For anyone who wants to be a power user, this is a powerful tool.

Easy to "plus" tasks into multiple places so they can be viewed in different places / projects across teams which I love.

Extremely powerful for a small team and can create LOTS of accountability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search in asana is AWFUL. You can only search the text of topline objects (e.g Projects, Tasks, etc.) If you keep information in comments of a task, descriptions of a project, descriptions of a task, custom fields, it is tough to seek out that info from within asana unless you know exactly where it lives.

It is extremely hard to keep assignees accountable at scale. Anyone can just unassign themselves work and it is very hard to track down that information without manual audits. Also it is hard to enforce workflows dynamically. They have a dynamic dating system for premium (which we use) but it only works upon creation of a project, not if deadlines are extended or tasks delayed. It also cannot dynamically assign PEOPLE to work based on roles or any automation tool like zapier or tray without a LOT of lift outside of asana.

I am not sure if there is a way administratively to prevent users in an org from deleting data from asana, and the archive function is not very clear in the UI so users LOVE to delete things if they no longer need them.

When using project templates with dependencies we had major issues with dependencies being related to mulitple endpoint NEW projects created from the template project. VERY confusing for users and killed the native automation that we had set up to dynamically assign the next task's due date.

Generally, we are having a very tough time with scaling our sales process which is tracked across 4 sales related teams within asana. The API is limiting in what we can do to support automation efforts and the lack of safeguards / validation rules is crippling our ability to stay with asana.

We are looking for a replacement or to move at least half of the process within SFDC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to systematize our sales process across four teams and create accountability across those stakeholders. We want the process to be so clear and automatic that someone untrained could execute the whole thing just by taking it one task at a time and having the next steps clearly direct the timing and owner of each next step. This is far to complex for asana.

We do realize savings financially and ease of communication across the whole organization because asana is one of the only tool every single user on the company has an account (besides gsuite and slack).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Are you planning for your team to grow beyond 50 people?

Do you have a high-volume business model?

Look for something with more admin control that will scale with you.

Are you looking for a tool that is more powerful than a basic task manager? Are you still using SPREADSHEETS to manage projects? Will your team always remain below 50 people? Asana is a compelling option and will be a net positive if you have someone in-house who will be the power user driving your implementation forward.

Nice Visual Project Management Software for Cross-Functional Teams

  • June 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and is a good to-do list to keep projects on track and also to track the status of projects in other teams
What do you dislike about the product?
When creating subtasks to a task, they do not get automatically added to the timeline unless you also make them subtasks of the project, which creates multiple duplicates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project tracking. When a lot of people work remote or from different facilities, it's nice to be able to see what is going on everywhere
