Beautiful Organization

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Over the last two years, Asana has been instrumental in our organizations transition from a reactive and chaotic workplace to a collaborative and organized workplace. It is highly useful for collaboration on projects, especially with new features such as Messages. It provides a transparent process for any project, allowing team members to be aware of project process and next steps. And Asana has a very clean and friendly interface, making is easy to use for any team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much that I dislike in my day-to-day use of Asana.

For those who prefer to view their tasks in a calendar, I will say that when tasks do not belong to a project, viewing the white task on a white calendar can make it difficult to see visually.

I would also like to see a feature that would allow for exporting some kind of report from Goals/Portfolios. This is especially useful when senior leaders are required to report to a board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has solved many communication problems, especially in regards to project process and progress awareness.

We have expanded our use of Asana from product development to workflow management, collaborative information tracking and marketing campaign development.

While our workplace previously was reactive and we were always playing catch-up, we are now more equipped to think and plan into the future, and with better accuracy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have an onboarding/transition plan and prepare for the transition. Some will adopt quickly, others will need some time and practice.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some limitations are not fixed when they could possibly improve the product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I save a ton of time and energy by having a clear todo list.

Outstanding Solution for Team Collaboration

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a comprehensive solution that is thoughtfully designed and in constant development. It's supported by a company that's passionate about team collaboration and dedicated to helping organizations thrive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is a web-based solution and requires an Internet connection. It would be helpful to have the option to work offline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana for collaborations within my team, most notably while working with contractors (e.g. web developers and graphic designers). Asana has made it possible to keep everyone on the same page and make excellent progress, while virtually eliminating the need for internal email.

Easy to get in, difficult to live without

  • February 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having all the information concentrated, organised and structured lets us reduce the amount of time we need to invest working on our business and thus increase the time we focus in our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to interact with Asana through my smart assistant : Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It handles personal projects and lists and also helps me manage my company projects interacting with a team of 25+ people as well as external users (clients, partners...)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easier to use than its competitors, powerful enough to scale if needed

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and collaborate with all of my clients and team members. And I like being able to see everything in one single space without having to jump to different platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could assign tasks to more than one person at a time. Seats are not incredibly clear in Asana. I pay for Asana and have 5 people on my team, and somehow, I'm still only using one seat. Clarification there would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all of my team members and clients' projects manages in one single place. More ease in my business and project management as well as not missing tasks and goals.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Asana especially for people who want a system that is already put together and that like things in a clear concise manner.

Efficient, intuitive and delightful.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the UI and extra delight features. The collaboration with other team members on a project is invaluable and I really like the fact that you can view a project in a list, calendar, or board view.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like everything about Asana, but I can't use all the functionality in my free plan. Still, nothing to complain about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management collaboration with other departments and colleagues. Super easy to invite more users, even outside of my company.

Thanks to Asana, our lives are much more comfortable

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to create a task / sub-task for a task. It is not difficult to monitor the improvement of all completed work, assign activities and visually monitor. The emoji integration/app is also beneficial for staying single-minded and connected.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a minor problem, even though I don't want to push a job through to finish a cut. I often click "Send" and need an additional procedure that I do not have. So I have to invest time to delete them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to handle many of my customers and tasks carefully and transparently. With all the search functions, I could get to older jobs quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana makes project management so much easier I recommend everyone to check it out

Nice and easy interface for task management but poor on metrics

  • February 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is really clear and intuitive, it is also beautiful. It is nice to use, you can split the tasks in projects and get updated of what is going on in each product in a simple way, you also have a schedule view where you can see how the project is evolving during time.
People used to like it, very fast learning curve to start using, create tasks and organise everything if you could build a team culture that has the habit of updating and documenting what is going on.
For teams that are not so focused on productivity metrics and agile methodologies (like Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, etc.) could be a great solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you compare to a more robust tool like JIRA you will miss a lot of productivity and agile metrics like velocity reports, burndown charts and etc. So if you would like to be more predictive about how much work your team can deliver in certain amount of time is not easy to get this information from using Asana. Also if you are working with software development it lacks integration with tools like Github to keep everything synced and easy to find out. If you are using a free version and your company is growing fast be aware that if you reach the limit of the free version the cost for keep using it could be much more than you expected and not fit your budget.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using to keep in the same tool all the company projects from almost all departments, so every manager and team could keep updated about what is going on in each product. It was really easy for everyone to adopt and the user experience is great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware with the price tiers if you are starting to use the free version, maybe sometimes the pricing could scare you in the future. If you are planning to be predictive on how much work your team could deliver or focused on the productivity metrics could not be the best product for you.

Asana User 2020-Present

  • February 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Interface is very clean and navigation is really intuitive. I really like the use of sharing forms as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Auto rules were very confusing and I wish there were some custom settings we can manage. For example, I would love it if there was an auto rule that will duplicate subtasks everytime a new card is created rather than having to manually add them to each new card.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We just started using Asana for one of our teams in need of project management. I really like being able to get notifications for updates and task progress. As a project manager, having this visibility is a powerful tool.

Love the ease of use to organise your teamwork

  • February 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The intuitive interface makes it easy for new users to quickly start using Asana. Creating your own preferred board but keeping all the data in sync with company level fields allows your team to work on the same details for all projects while having your own overview.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adding several date field, Asana only allows for one Due Date field. For events, this can mistakenly be the actual event date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team alignment, working with external agencies, own task management.
