Incredibly Customizable
What do you like best about the product?
Love that you can create draggable cards - can basically create a sprint board for projects. Tasks can be added to multiple projects and it's easy to create a new task and assign it to someone.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think without a clear team structure, it can be easy to get lost in the program or not be aware of the full extent of possibility in the program. I still feel like I need to do some additional research to really begin utilizing this tool to its full potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides an all-up view of project progress (tasks and milestones). Forms also provide an easy way to track bugs and assign resolution to a particular team member.
Easy to use and simple to understand
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it has a message board quality to it where you can directly ask questions about an assignment and have them answered in the same place.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to get used to after using Trello or other CMSs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of communication with teammates over shared projects and assignments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure all entries are very detailed to avoid confusion when it comes to projects and assignments within your team.
Powerful tool, extremely capable, somewhat of a learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is great for managing complex projects with many interconnected parts. I really like how each task and sub task can be assigned to a particular person (and subtasks can be assigned to different people than the larger overall task) and this data is then funneled to each individuals list of tasks to accomplish.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only difficulty I've experienced is that folks who are older and slightly less technologically adventurous are intimidated by the user interface. There are a lot of features (which to be clear is very beneficial) but that can make some folks nervous about learning how all of the features work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is solving the problem of complex project management. It helps me as an individual understand and track my tasks and helps the team understand where projects are at and who's responsible for what.
Easy to use but sometimes too basic
What do you like best about the product?
I like the feeling of checking something off of my list which is what asana has. I like the ability to add tasks and share files easily without having to use Dropbox. I was super excited to see the new hire checklist option was added in. It's been super helpful for me since I don't have to go look for each of the documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish asana had a better calendar set up that looked more like a timeline I could use for my team to understand how long we had on specific projects rather then just an end date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nothing too big problem wise. I like being able to nudge my team in the right direction without seeming to micromanage
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make a timeline calendar set up
Great for project management!
What do you like best about the product?
I am able to see all of my upcoming projects and tasks and can work collaboratively with my team to execute them. Keeps all of my tasks in order and in a nice, organized view.
What do you dislike about the product?
The calendar view can be a bit cluttered, wish there were some more customizable options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Never lose track of a project and can communicate with team members on separate projects in an organized way on one platform.
Tracking with Asana
What do you like best about the product?
We use Asana to track our quarter end work flow. I like that we can see the whole teams work load for the quarter, and interact on the site as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since we only use Asana to track workflow right now, there is not much that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workflow taking is our main use for Asana
Task management made easy
What do you like best about the product?
I work on a medium-sized office with several departments under it, and it's critical that we work in tandem with one another. Asana performs admirably in keeping our teams running in sync and allowing us to work on large projects seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Most of what we dislike stems from our task managers' internal practices with the platform; finding a balance between obsessively checking off minor tasks in a large project becomes tedious - Asana users need to find a balance when creating tasks. Too granular, and you'll start to hate the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is great for organizing tasks in a clean, cohesive manner. We are logged into it daily and it helps our team stay focused and productive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find a way to add clarity to your tasks by organizing them into different views. We use Calendar view for some larger projects and Timeline for projects that are divided into separate parts.
Love the task view!
What do you like best about the product?
Love being able to prioritize what's due today, and see a bird's eye view of what's coming. Commenting and tagging others is so helpful as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the parent tasks -> trickle down causes things to get a bit lost in translation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving issues with deadlines/due dates and communication regarding specific task needs. The benefit has been more tasks occurring on-time, with greater communication about specific questions or needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I love the deadlines, ability to copy task link to share in Slack with specific questions, ability to tag in team members, and the ease of keeping track of tasks that are received, in progress, awaiting review, or completed.
Decent team task management software
What do you like best about the product?
Pleasing design and layout. Easy to create tasks, adjustable timelines, and assign them to teammates. Super simple to adjust to, learn, as well as teach people.
What do you dislike about the product?
It served the purpose we wanted to use it for. The one challenge is that engineers, or computer software people prefer using Trello.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It did the job fine.
Asana has made my life so much easier
What do you like best about the product?
I constantly have 3-7 projects going at once. Asana allows me to create the projects, tasks and teams that I need to keep track of everything in one place. I've even started adding some personal tasks just so that I know when I log in to Asana in the morning, I can see everything that's expected of me for that day, the coming week, month etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I dislike (and it may just be a feature that I haven't found yet) is that I can't schedule a specific time to do a task, only the day. It would be helpful to be able to set up times as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to have different notebooks and calendars for projects which was okay until I forgot to look at one notebook. Asana allows me to put all my projects and tasks into one dashboard and see everything at one glance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd say you have to at least try this. It's pretty easy to use and it works great for us. We have a small team of three currently but multiple clients and we manage everything easily.
