Excellent project management software for small to large teams.
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility of the software, and ongoing improvements to address the needs of companies and teams managing diverse projects. The paid version for some teams at our company is wonderful for setting up 1-1 meetings, organizing projects by portfolios, creating custom fields, and also setting up automated workflows. Integrations with other software like HubSpot, Slack, and Gmail also make Asana a great tool for our company.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a learning curve and adoption process to get team members to use; the flexibility is great when you know what you want to build, but it can also be helpful to provide more structure and direction up front for usage of the software. Since Asana has so many users with different needs and requests, it may take a little longer for customized requests to get addressed. If norms of usage aren't set up, then there's also a lack of consistency in how the platform is being used across the company that may cause some challenges as it relates to corporate-wide collaboration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The software is excellent for promoting transparency of work across the company, as more collaboration is happening remotely and across geographies. Within the system, users are able to clearly assign tasks with responsibilities and deadlines, and keep track of comment threads and files as they relate to each project. Asana has also been useful to keep track of messages and organize corporate brand elements, as well as setting up a social media and content calendar for the Marketing team.
Powerful Task Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The variety of functions to collaborate with the team
What do you dislike about the product?
Many functions are behind paywalls (several tiers)

Collaborating with teams
Asana - the most versatile Project Management Tool available!
What do you like best about the product?
- price / value for money comparing to other similar project management tools/software.
- intuitive interface / not a big learning curve. Even inexperienced team-members can start using Asana straight away and collaborate with no issues, thus minimizing communication friction among the team and increase productiveness.
- versatility. Asana does not constrict you in a certain way to use the tool. You have the ability to adopt any framework you want like Agile, Scrum, Kanban without restriction - while at the same time offering pre-set templates to kickstart your projects with ease without locking you in a rigid approach/way of project management.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Portfolio option available only to Business-tier members. In general the sell to the Business plan is quite hard as there are workarounds that can be implemented to achieve the same goals in the Premium tier.
- There is no ability to not include certain members to the Business-tier. This is a bit odd as only managers would need to have the features available in this tier and not the whole team. It would be great if there could be a distinction so when in Business plan only certain members could have access to the most advanced features. Having access to the Portfolio feature for example does not make sense for a team member that does not need this zoomed-out, birds eye view on their daily workflow.

- Project Management for Digital Media Projects - from website creation boards / to-do lists to Bugs boards to Promo boards in order to manage internal workflows so that all team-members are aware what are their tasks, what everyone is doing and what is the status of each project - without bombarding each other via emails or IMs, everyone is on the same page about different projects in the easiest way possible, minimizing communication friction and saving time with a piece of mind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My advice to those evaluating Asana is that is the best tool if you want to manage an array of different Digital Media projects, as it is not rigid but quite flexible in letting you apply the PM framework you want or hybrid approaches where and when needed. You can manage Site creation workflows, Product creation workflows, Promo-Offer workflows while also have the dev-team following up with Bugs and Improvements in a more defined Agile / sprint based way.
The implementation with the team is quite easy as the intuitive interface permits for small learning curve even for team members that didn't have previous expose to the concept or project management or other project management tools and is a great introductory tool for them as also stands really good for professionals with more advanced granular needs for control with the ability to add custom fields and amazing Filtering/Reporting options.
With a great documentation, pre-selected templates for a variety of projects and also a very useful community forum, Asana is a tool that when implemented on the team's daily workflow will minimize workflow bottlenecks, increase productivity, save time and also help the team achieve the goals needed with a more focused communication that makes all the difference needed.
Highly recommended!

Ease and quickness of creating new tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are paid only, such as Portfolios

Product roadmap, meeting agendas, product tasks that don't belong in Jira. More clarity and efficiency on the team.
Work management at is best
What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive platform, allows me to get the job done without getting in the middle
What do you dislike about the product?
This applies to any work management app; without a business framework asana is just a powerful tool. Is best when asana is paired with something like GTD or similar
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We apply asana to almost all our business processes. Currently we are implementing GTD across the company
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Implement asana with some work management strategy or methodology like GTD. We did not do this at the start and have discovered it would have helped tons
Gotta do the work to do the work
What do you like best about the product?
Asana can be whatever you need it to be. Once you set up protocols for your team, you can easily track projects, processes, anything! We even made a project for everyone's coffee orders. Very customizable and searchable. The support is great too!
What do you dislike about the product?
Your whole team needs to commit to protocols and to using Asana in general. Because it's so customizable you need to all be on the same page and use it the same for it to be effective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The number one problem we've solved is projects getting dropped or lost in email inboxes. We've also created an intake system so all projects start in Asana. This has been SO HELPFUL! Doing the work to do the work is lot more streamlined.
Hands down, the best management tool I've ever used
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Asana for the last 5 years. This is absolutely universal tool.
It could be useful for personal day to day tasks like fast notes and personal agenda as well as a large company management instrument.
As CEO in one and COO in the second company, I've been using it for building the company structure and processes from scratch.
This is the best example, showing the flexibility of Asana.
It's absolutely well-designed and ready to use right from the box instrument.
Moreover, for non-standard structures and company tasks, the only limitation is the management team's creativity level. Managers should be set to think out of the box and they will definitely find the way to set Asana for solving any problem.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's no such thing)
There was a problem for me, as COO. I felt a lack of information about upcoming and actual details on Asana product updates.
After receiving the status of Asana Ambassador I've no longer experiencing any disadvantages.
Now I'm confident with my plans for the company workflow improvements.

Coordination of projects within a working group.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana's interface is convenient to perform project coordination within a working group. This is a better overview and analysis of the needs of the various projects I'm involved in and other professional teams. You can now invite members. In particular, the application allows me to map the assigned tasks and deadlines to my project. Any of them can be mapped and I will add comments, discussions and contract information. You can see an analysis of the performance, tasks and sub-tasks of each project, their efficiency and I enjoy it as it allows me to monitor the quality of service.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't have any problems and I think it's a great collaboration tool that fits my needs and perspective!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualize and track the progress and development of tasks during individual and other teams' work. This includes a schedule for each of the planned projects to reach the overall goal. The system is designed to execute each project as requirements and circumstances change.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Managing and monitoring projects and dividing them into little and simple activities benefits the team. We recommend it as a leadership tool that allows managers to communicate with each other.
A whole new way of (proper) working
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, finally getting email not the main tool of work and the asana academy
What do you dislike about the product?
Not widely used yet in companies, what makes it not a must skill to have in the market
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having everything in the same place makes it more efficient to work and focus on what adds true value in my company and our clientes
