Task and Project Management Gold

  • October 12, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great tool to manage tasks and projects on a daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly level. Easily invite coworkers to a team, build projects under that team, assign out tasks, add due dates, and even sync with your Google calendar. Additionally, they send you reminders when tasks are due with a daily/weekly digest. You can attach files/URLs to tasks, making it easy to keep track of things.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside of Asana that I have encountered is annual repeating of specific tasks that don't fall on the EXACT same day each year, but around a similar time. I have yet to figure out how to easily achieve that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving the problem of divvying up a former co-workers work, so we can all see what there is to do and then assigning out tasks as they fit into our regular cycle of work so that it is all finished but no one person gets overwhelmed. Additionally, we all work on our Annual Conference planning, and so tracking all the tasks/timelines to have a successful conference in Asana makes all of our jobs easier because we can see when tasks are completed or if someone needs something to complete a task, they can message through Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to organize yourself or a team of people to keep track of projects and make sure nothing slips through the cracks, I highly recommend Asana. It takes some effort to set up, but as you use it, it becomes second nature to add tasks/projects in there so you can easily track productivity and completion.

An amazing tool for project management

  • October 11, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is easily the best tool I've ever used for project management and staying on top of tasks. It can be as in-depth and complex or as simple and easy as you want it to be. The wide range of project templates give you a lot of flexibility for managing your work the way you need to, and the various views and plenty of customizable options let you track things however you'd like. Overall, it's a great tool for working with teams or even keeping track of your own tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can be a little overwhelming when you first start using it. Before I used Asana, I used another project management took that overall looked more user friendly and was easier to get started. It's possible that I missed training videos or manuals for Asana, but streamlining the getting started process and possible sending tips or training videos via email would strengthen the user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana as part of a small (5 people) marketing team. Before we started using Asana, we kept track of everything in our heads. Tasks constantly fell through the cracks and we constantly felt behind. Through Asana, our team has been able to consistently track and manage projects in an easy way that helps all of us stay on top of things!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's worth it! Even if it seems a little daunting to get started, go for it. It's well worth your time, and will save you countless hours down the road.
