What do you like best about the product?
I love the simple, logical interface of Asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Asana makes me feel like a machine at the end of a long work week...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps with communication and oversight between minor steps in projects that otherwise might become a source of tension.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a simple project management software that focuses on transparency of workflow, look no further.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monthly newsletter needed to be organized and give everyone a task to stay on track.

Great for finding and assigning tasks quickly

What do you like best about the product?
This is a great tool to use when you're managing a number of projects, ideas or clients. I'd recommend it to people.
What do you dislike about the product?
The layout was not initially intuitive to me, but I also think that it takes time to understand the platform generally when you start out. Now, it's easy for me to navigate where things are.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Adding the time clock if it's not connected to Harvest takes an extra process - so it's important to note that the drop down for "add to project" is actually helping you to add the time clock by adding the tag for the project.

Worthwhile Tool, but a Little too Complex & Time Consuming

What do you like best about the product?
There's no doubt that most companies will need some variation of a tool like this, whether it's Asana, Monday.com, Zoho, or any other well known project management software. It's easy to breakout different sections/teams within your business- teams like Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Customer Support and so on. Also, for smaller companies it's simple to create and break out areas of responsibility for individuals, which lets others know who handles what and where you can go to find help on certain topics.
What do you dislike about the product?
The problem with a lot of project management tools is that they often require a lot of time and effort to enter individual projects, the details of those projects, tag key followers, and then to make sure the task is organized correctly. Asana has this same problem. It takes too long to navigate the tool- it's difficult to navigate, especially when a company has a dozen or more teams and then 10-20+ channels under those teams (for example a team might be "marketing" and some channels would be "Digital acquisition", "Digital retention", "TV acquisition", "brand digital", "brand offline", and so on..).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows everyone to stay connected and up to date on what everyone is working on, however it's only as good as the people who are using the tool. It takes a lot of time and effort to keep it updated and organized, as well as to manage the users who are utilizing the tool.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Keeping your workflow streamlined

What do you like best about the product?
Using Asana helps us keep up with tasks and projects. Before we had no way of organizing assignees, due dates, and a synchronized way of sharing event/project details. With Asana all those boxes are checked. Very user friendly and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
We wish there were more reasons to upgrade to premium. But for now we’ll just stick with the free version
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned earlier, our project due dates are taken more seriously and tasks are delegated efficiently. The benefit of keeping everyone connected and on task is extremely helpful in the early stages of project development
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give Asana a chance, it may look simple but as you dive deeper into the tools and features you’ll realize what a powerful software it can be for your organization

Productive if you have a smaller team

  • October 08, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can have different boards, either for projects or individuals, to keep track of project stages. It makes it really easy to see where individuals are at any given stage of a project, which makes it easier to locate where problems are within a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's REALLY hard to keep track of things if you have a lot of projects or if you have a larger team to keep track of. Things can get confusing pretty quickly if you're not actively managing projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to set dates and deadlines in Asana, which makes it easier to stick to a timeline. It also makes it easier to identify who might need help, or what parts of projects are really starting to fall behind.

Strong PM for Self-Employed

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoyed when Asana introduced the Kanban feature. It’ the best of Trello and Asana but just needing one tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can’t switch from Kanban to list format and vice versa. This makes it extremely cumbersome when you’re knee deep in your board and realize the other format would serve you better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I initially began using Asana for help with personal and family tasks but moved on to using it for business and consultant tasks as a project manager and workflow assistant.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Asana to its fullest before switching to another tool.

What do you like best about the product?
I really love how colorful it is, it makes it easy to categorize things. I also really like the checklist and the ability to assign projects to people.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it's pretty basic, you can really just create to-do lists. I wish you could upload files, and share more on it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We didn't have a project management tool to begin with so it at least provides us with some sort of project management tool
