Asana is a Phenomenal Product
What do you like best about the product?
Asana does a great job with their underlying data structure. Allowing a many-to-one relationship between different objects helps make it very easy to cross-collaborate, track, and manage various tasks for different projects with concurrent or overlapping work.
Having the ability to create projects that can be duplicated has helped out team tremendously for being able to track similar customer-facing projects that have different implementation flavors.

What do you dislike about the product?
Subtasks are unfortunately treated as a forced bundle that requires the user to think more than they have to about what belongs as a task or a subtask.
Adding a task to 2 projects means that inherently ALL subtasks are required to come along with it. Similarly, filters on projects only apply to metadata at the task level, and cannot be used to filter out subtasks that fail to meet the specified criteria.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is allowing our team to create multiple flavors of our implementation strategy, which means we can have a project act as our single source of truth for all implementation tasks that can exist across all flavors of implementation. We can then create different projects that make use of these shared tasks so that the project can be duplicated for a given partner project.
This allows for us to have an easy one stop shop for updating a task that then cascades to all shared projects. It is also beneficial that the duplicate projects are disconnected and not linked to the source tasks, since this allows for individual customer projects to be tracked independently with no need for shared tasks.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great integrated workflow system to help organise workflow through teams, I like how you can personalise your own project space and add teams to collaborate or set certain tasks,
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lot to learn about Asana, so a lot of training and onboarding is needed in order to understand all the different uses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is benefitting the workflow system but helping organise workflow and assign jobs from a design perspective.
Complex Yet Comprehensive for Growing Teams
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Asana consolidates all my processes into one system, which helps me organize everything efficiently. I also find the project boards, templates, and AI rules incredibly helpful for managing tasks. The ability to track workload and team capacity is particularly beneficial for our growing creative studio.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana feels unnecessarily complex for a small business like mine. I had to hire a project manager just to get it set up, and even then, it felt like dealing with complicated Excel formulas. I manage operations and finance solo, so I need tools that are efficient and intuitive.
It sits awkwardly between something too simple like Trello and something overly complex for our needs. The $3,000 annual price tag is hard to justify — I wish there were a more affordable plan for startups or smaller teams.
Contractor access is also limited — they should be able to input and track hours, not just view tasks. I spent time setting up workload and portfolio features, but they didn’t work as expected and felt overly complicated.

Streamlined Project Management, Needs More Intuitive Setup
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the helpfulness of Asana boards in keeping the entire project in one space. I find it really beneficial to have all my tasks in one spot, making it easier to check what's on the docket for the day. I also find the task functionality vital for moving projects through different stages effectively. Additionally, Asana assists in organizing what needs to be accomplished in each project, which is particularly crucial for our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not find Asana's "best use" very intuitive in setting up projects, particularly when deciding between using tasks versus subtasks etc. Setting up the system can be quite a challenging task. Despite having used Asana before, where the system was already set up and just required me to navigate it, setting it up myself proved to be significantly harder. Additionally, it takes longer than I would like to input a task into the system, which could be partly due to user error as I'm still in the learning phase. Any form of simplification in this process would be greatly beneficial. Furthermore, while I see potential in integrating Asana with other tools, like the Google Suite and Slack that we already use, we haven't gotten around to it yet. One major feature I would love to see is the ability to create tasks via voice memo, which would enhance its functionality and my productivity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Asana helpful in keeping all my tasks in one spot, streamlining project management, and moving tasks through project stages. It aids in organizing thoughts on what needs to be done, especially with minimal record-keeping and template use.
organize my tasks
What do you like best about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tasks organization, the benefits are time management and task prioritazion
Great project management features; severely lacking on organizational management admin features
What do you like best about the product?
Multiple ways to create and organize projects and associate and assign tasks to others on your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Admin options and features are severely lacking and very confusing. Asana needs to provide features that allow single organizational admins to access and modify divisional billing and ownership aspects. Currently have to do this via support tickets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We didn't have a flexible project planning tool before, so this allows the entire organization to use a single tool and collaborate more effectively.
Keeps my work organized and efficient...
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it very easy to manage projects, track progress, and collaborate with my team. I like the clean interface, the ability to assign tasks clearly, and how everything is well-structured. It helps me stay on top of deadlines and makes teamwork smooth and transparent.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s not much to dislike, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming when managing multiple projects at once because of all the notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me and my team stay organized, prioritize tasks, and track progress across multiple projects. It solves the problem of scattered communication by keeping all updates, files, and responsibilities in one place. This saves time, reduces confusion, and ensures accountability. Overall, it helps us deliver work more efficiently and with better collaboration.
