Does everything and nothing special at the same time

  • July 19, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Assigning tasks to team members when things fall between the cracks via Slack
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not a whole lot I like about this program. It's clunky, the UI isn't particularly user-friendly, the emails are obnoxious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management is about it -- the reminders and to-do lists come in handy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend some time getting to know it before you commit to it

What do you like best about the product?
Visibility on tasks, ability to assign different team members, create projects and subtasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana often crashes and randomly signs out when I am in the middle of creating a project. Sometimes, tasks take about 5-10 minutes to create.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility across different roles working on one project. This has been invaluable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool, relatively straight forward and easy to use. Constant updates, so the vision is on the right track.

The Only Project Management Tool I Need

  • July 19, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I work with a lot of different clients and it's almost impossible to keep track of everything through email and google docs. Asana takes care of everything. If I want to know about a specific task or project, its super easy to find. If I need to know when something is due, also very easy to find. When working with my team we can easily comment on different tasks and keep things organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be great if there were more templates on the free plan. Something like a website launch plan, book writing launch plan, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me with time management and organization. No need to search my email for hours just to find one little note. If I have a question for my team about Task A in Project B, we can all easily find it. And the questions go right to their inbox so it's easy for them to understand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are lots of project management tools out there. Asana makes things simple and easy to find.

What do you like best about the product?
It's so easy to collaborate on projects! You can assign a task or project to a coworker, or just tag them if you want to keep them apprised of your progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to upgrade to premium, they charge you for 5 people (even if you only have one person that needs an upgrade).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to keep my projects organized and actually get them accomplished!

What do you like best about the product?
I loved the collaborative aspects of the to-do list. It helps with communication for traveling team members on remote projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Asana can do a lot more than I could figure out. I also wish there was a bit more tagging and organizational availability. It can be complicated to set up at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for group projects and templates for projects happening in other cities. We are able to communicate with team members on business drips and satellite projects much more easily this way. It's helpful to know that we are all holding each other accountable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be prepared to spend some time getting the ball running and then reap the rewards! Templates for repeat projects and super helpful project management,

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to collaborate with my co-workers on a given project. Love the ability to assign a task to a specific co-worker. No more ambiguity over who is doing what.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't love the calendar function. I find it difficult to tell which are my tasks, and which belong to co-workers. Wish I could add events to the calendar that don't correspond to a task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with a team and project management.

Asana in the workplace

  • July 18, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I liked how customizable the backgrounds were. I enjoy "pretty" and colorful things, as opposed to all the other dull monotone softwares I need to use everyday.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disliked the posting of tasks themselves. I wished there were more features or more options for longer projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to use the platform for team project management. While it worked for some tasks, it was confusing for more complex jobs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana can be a low-cost (free) solution for a task management platform

Great task management for individuals and teams

  • July 18, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very easy to use. You can create tasks in a matter of seconds from the browser or the mobile app. It is great for individual tasks as well as team collaboration. When working with other people, we always know what's going on by using due dates, task assignments, and commenting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I like least about Asana, which really isn't that big of a deal, would probably be the list view of the tasks. You can sort it by date, but tasks without a date automatically get lumped into the New Tasks or Today sections and then if you sort them, tasks go down into the Later section and the default is that those tasks are not expanded. Just seems like it would be easier if you sorted by like Date Added or Due Date and didn't even have the other sections. Not sure, I'm sure they put a lot of thought into it and how users respond. Perhaps I'm just not seeing the proper way to utilize that feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have multiple teams. I love that I can create tasks for myself on the fly within one team, but then have tasks within another team that has a totally different set of people involved. It saves a lot of time and back and forth via email by just keeping things within Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
So far I've been enjoying the task features that Asana brings. I continue to use it more and learn new ways to make it effective for my business.
