Great for team and project management
What do you like best about the product?
We use Asana to keep track of our team's work, projects, and deliverables. We also are able to link other people in different departments and organizations to our Asana account so they can function like internal members of the team and make and view updates to the project boards. It is easy to navigate, create new projects, upload documents, see what team members are working on or have completed, and get high level and detailed views of projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free service does not allow you to create deadline-dependent tasks or create gantt charts. It is difficult to remove access to tasks and projects by project managers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to work with people across departments in our large organization as well as with people outside our organization. It allows for seamless communication and visualization of work.
Works great for project management
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can view different projects either by a product board, list and how they tie into each other.
What do you dislike about the product?
The subtasks you are able to create can be confusing to some users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to manage larger projects and incorporate them/see the bigger picture.
Amazing Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to choose between the card system and the list system when creating a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I did not like the fact that there was not a notification option for of a due date changed on a task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping projects organized and allowing everyone to be on the same page. The benefits of giving everyone a clear understanding of the current status of a project is priceless.
Great program to assign and complete tasks
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and great to keep track of what you're working on.
What do you dislike about the product?
The subgroups close the entire task when you complete it, instead of taking you back to the main task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is never a question of what task who is assigned to it. We know what each other are doing at all times.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for remote employees to keep track of their projects.
Eight Years with ASANA
What do you like best about the product?
The best parts of ASANA are the group interaction that we can stimulate with this tool. We have used ASANA for quite a long time to coordinate teams that are spread out all over the US and Asia. This tools allows us to coordinate activities and make sure the tasks assigned are completed in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, the updates are a little too frequent for me. What some may see as a positive, I dislike as it disrupts flow. While this may be inherent to new tools being developed, as a former software company owner, "feature creep" can be a hinderance at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We manage hundreds of projects across three (3) main business units. ASANA helps us keep our standard "process" for each project front and center. As a management tool, it allow me to manage groups on individual projects and focus on those that need my attention.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with just a few projects and refine your process first. Then implement on a larger scale
Asana is great for teams - if the team is your main priority.
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like best about Asana is that it keeps all correspondence in one place. It's easy to check what my teammates are saying and have everything that we need to work on something easily accessible. It's much more time-saving than email and is built with a singular goal in mind which means it's much better at achieving that goal than more general applications like email.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the inbox function, I wish it worked more like an email inbox - showing you new correspondence instead of making you click in to the project to read everything that's happening. I also dislike the layout just a bit. For some reason the dark layout and multiple task bars hasn't quite clicked as enjoyable for me yet. I would prefer to land in my inbox - something with a few highlighted notes and then have the option to hop over to my dashboard if I wanted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana improves business efficiency by keeping all team players on the same page, cutting down on time sifting through email chains and potentially missing key info.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great for working remotely as a team. I only work as part of a team for about 10% of my freelance workload, so the admin of asana can be an extra task, but if your full-time job is working on creative or production tasks as a team this is a great tool.
Great for workflow.
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to track and maintain to do lists and categorize them by product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The filters can be glitchy and the tracking on dates completed doesn't always work well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many projects all with different tasks to keep straight.
Asana for team and company project management
What do you like best about the product?
Compared to what Asana was when I first used it about 4 years ago, it has come leaps and bounds. I am currently using it for team project management and have recently extended its use on a corporate level. I like the ability to assign tasks between teams and break down projects into a simple-to-organize workflow. Comments can be made directly within each project/task and custom details added.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I am particularly unhappy with as of yet. I could see it being less ideal for communication with external clients compared to an option like Basecamp, but considering we aren't looking to achieve that solution it isn't an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team and corporate project management -- each person can create tasks and assign to team members across the company allowing for multi-team collaboration. Relatively easy to set up and maintain.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a tool for team collaboration and easy to manage task workflow, Asana is a great solution!
Your one stop shop project management systems
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use within the UI is perfect, their is a free version that would suffice for most people, you can over a large over view within a calendar for a team or individual view.
What do you dislike about the product?
The call in and email customer service is alright, but their twitter will help you the most for quick solutions. There are some paid items that would be nice in the free version, but that's understandable.
