A Solid Project Manager

Best Team Management App
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is such a helpful tool. I absolutely love the usability of it, and all of the tools that come with one simple system. Asana is incredibly helpful, especially when a group of people are all working on a similar project or working together. It is really easy to assign and track tasks, build projects, and keep everything organized in one clear place.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I think is hard to do with Asana is ensure that you get notifications for everything and sometimes when you mark one thing off a list, I found that others would disappear but I wasn't sure why.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major business problem that we solved by using Asana was the management of tasks. Before using Asana, tasks and projects would get lost and there would be little way of knowing who was working on what project. Once we started using Asana, there was no question who was working on a project and what stage that project was in.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My biggest recommendation to other users of Asana would be to take full advantage of all of the capabilities. Asana can work really well as a sharing and communication app if the tools are all used. Once the organization I was working with started using Asana for messaging as well as document sharing, it was so easy to know that everything was all in one place.
Great Task Management
What do you like best about the product?
I need to have all of my tasks written out or I might forget asana helps me categorize and list all my needs and due dates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was easier to include a team so we could all use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My role is a mixture of case management and admin and HR. Lots of different tasks but all need to be completed. I’m way more on top of it with Asana.
Asana is helpful but clunky.
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to pass tasks from one team member to another is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest complaint is the lack of clear transparency. The interface doesn't clearly show how a task has been passed around--it's just in subtle, small grey text. I'd prefer a visual diagram of what's going on. For instance, I'd like each task have a diagram showing who created it, how it's been passed around, and what has been done or said about it along the way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It mitigates emails and centralizes tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd try out the other options as well, like MS Planner. I'm not sold on Asana. It's awkward. But so is MS Planner.
Clean, Smooth, Productive Interface
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great platform for teams to have a synchronized and well-laid out platform to assign and complete different tasks. What I like best about Asana is its organizational structure. It provides a simple and streamlined way to create tasks under specific topics and gives a wide range of options for each task such as notes, assignments, comments, and alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Asana/What I think can be most improved is its calendar feature. It would be much more efficient if the calendar were able to sync with Apple or Google Cal so that the events are able to merge with more commonly used calendars for users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, I used Asana for two major projects. First, as a Captain of a Dance Team, I used Asana to organize logistical tasks and set timelines for certain events, such as applications for competitions, timeline to learn certain choreography, etc. Second, I used Asana as Co-Founder of a non-profit, where I used the capabilities of Asana to better understand the long term timeline for the organization and make sure that certain tasks are completed in order for larger goals to be reached. I think the benefit I realized through this process is how Asana makes it easy to breakdown larger goals into small more realizable aspects that we can reach step-by-step.
Great for Small Offices
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is really easy to use and very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
It might just be the way my boss has it set up but I wish I got email reminders if a task is coming to a due date, or if the due date has passed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We would put our clients "on hold" while they completed a specific task such as see a doctor. Before Asana, our clients would just kind of get lost in the shuffle and no one would follow up. Now we have a centralized place to list our clients on hold, why they are on hold, expected dates of their task completion, and a date at which we have to follow up. As a result, we are losing less business by keeping track of our clients, and our clients feel they are truly cared for because they get a follow up call and anyone they talk to knows what is going on in their case.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great software for groups that share responsibility for tasks.
'Do yourself a favor and use this!!
What do you like best about the product?
Everything. Literally everything. I first used this program when I worked for a company out of Australia. I was in the USA. We had been using email, skype, and all this other stuff. We came across Asana and oh my word did it make life easier! We were able to assign projects, upload files, add people in, and you could set email reminders as needed or desired.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first it was a little weird to change an owner of a task. They fixed that problem though. I honestly have no complaints about this program. It seriously saved me a ton of time and saved my email inbox from being flooded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Emails were filling up faster than we could go through them. My boss would send me a project and then send 20 other emails clarifying, adding things on, sending additional info as she thought of it. With Asana they are able to assign me a task and then update that task as needed. I was able to adjust my settings so I did NOT get an email each time they made a change to a new project. That way I could just go look once everything was setup and begin my project. I was able to upload files or work done and not worry that it got lost in their email. They could go to any project and look and see what I had completed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just give it a try. Don't cancel anything you use now, just add this to your routine. I promise you will end up loving it.
Client relations & marketing associate who's been loving Asana for 2 years.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very user-friendly. It's easy to move things around, make adjustments, and all of the functions work smoothly. Nothing is clunky.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Asana team is always improving their product & introducing cool new features. I don't have anything that I dislike about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a client relations coordinator, so I''m always managing projects, timelines and inter-departmental tasks. Before Asana, I wasn't using any type of system to keep track of all of these tasks. There was so much that was missed, and it got really messy. I don't miss anything now that I use Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use tags! They help with organization and you can search by a specific tag, if you're ever looking for a certain task.
