Best Task Management I found through a lot of research

  • January 13, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to delegate tasks to co workers is one of the best features. You delegate the task and then you get email alerts on all the tasks which are not ticked.
What do you dislike about the product?
The assignee of the task can delete the task. There should be owner of the task also and only the owner should have the right to restrict deletion and date change on the task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly I am solving task delegation issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One of the best in its class. Feature rich. Pleasing to the eye. Nice and easy interface.

    Computer Software

Asana is a pretty decent software for project management.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the UI with its lots of colors, and the continuous syncing and updating.

The flexibility to create new projects without having to designate a "flow" like in JIRA is pretty powerful, but I can see that leading to problems down the line with a less organized team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really a dislike but I wish there were more of a way to use custom filters to sort.

I dislike that I can't apply a filter in a project as easily to see who was working on what or when things were created, and I have to use an advanced filter.

It also seems to experience disconnects quite a bit, at least in recent days.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a great place to put things down, and place things in multiple buckets.

good repository to keep tickets across multiple teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For those that are really used to JIRA, this isn't that bad an alternative, though it will take some getting used to.

Project management made fun and easy

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is an interesting way to introduce gamification to project management. It is also easy to drag-and-drop existing tasks and add multiple tasks. The user interface is extremely friendly and easy to customize. There are a lot of options for changing how tasks are organized. It is also extremely easy to delegate tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not possible to assign one task to multiple people. This was difficult to deal with in my organization considering that sometimes people collaborated on the same task. The search feature also was hard to use and often returned results not relevant to my original search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is a great tool for doing project management and incentivizing it with in-app rewards. Asana paves the way for better team communication while also showing tangible team progress.

Best Basic Project Management Tool

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you are on the market for a basic project management system, Asana is easily the best tool out there. It's free, but they don't skimp on the features. I love how easy it is to use, and how I can view my tasks and projects in several different ways - on a calendar, on a task list, etc. You can also comment on tasks, which is great if you're using Asana with a team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana does have a few minor issues. Sometimes it randomly logs you out and you lose whatever comment you were leaving or task you were adding. There are also some screens that require you to zoom out if you want to full see your options, which is annoying. There are also a few quirks with setting up projects that take some getting used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is a great solution for project management. If you're running a small business, you don't need to spend an arm and a leg to track your tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a free program, so it isn't as robust as some of the other project management tools out there. It is best for small companies with under 25 employees. If you have more, you'll probably need a tool with more features.

Great software for keeping track of projects and timelines.

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to set deadlines for tasks and mark the tasks as complete. Being able to see everything in either a list view or calendar view.
What do you dislike about the product?
No pop-up notifications. It would be nice to have desktop notifications to be constantly reminded of what needs to be done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am keeping track of multiple projects with Asana. I feel a lot more organized while using Asana. It allows me to compartmentalize all of my projects, which makes it a lot easier for me to keep track of my deadlines. I love it!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Take some time to read their blog to really understand the product and then test it out yourself!

Asana is Amazing for Project Management!

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's ease to use. I like being able to brain dump a new process or project into Asana then go back through and reorganize it by just dragging and dropping tasks.

I love that I can communicate with my team through Asana versus logging into my email. I also love that I can upload files, images, mp3 into a task directly. It's like a one-stop-shop for getting a project done.

This is silly but I love completing a task and seeing a Narwal or Unicorn fly across my screen. It gives me a rush of accomplishment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app for my phone is a bit hard to navigate. I like that they have an app for my iPhone so I can respond to my team while I'm on the go. However, sometimes I can't find projects that I am looking for on my phone and that is a bit frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps keep me on track with projects and it helps me always know where I am with working with clients

    Computer Software

Indispensable tool for collaborative teams

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana helps our distributed team stay focused on the right projects, collaborate on large and small projects, and ensure that key deliverables are complete on time.
What do you dislike about the product?
For the most part, Asana is a solid tool which offers the things that my team needs. I honestly can't think of anything that I dislike about Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Keeping remote teammates on task
- Collaborating across departments/roles
- Time management/sticking to deadlines

Easy to use

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of the design and how easy it is to update and close out tasks. Also, hidden unicorns.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not in-depth enough to truly be a project management software, but it will often get used as such.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps project managers keep things in line. our project manager has improved efficiency with a central place for us to view his notes, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't make it your be all end all solution. Utilizing this for what it's meant to be used for it's great, just don't look for it to solve all your problems.

Asana Review

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of delegating tasks and having team members claim ownership.

Clean design - easy to read and feels lightweight.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little clunky - the UI doesn't move that easily.

Should require users to upload images. Hate seeing a letter of everyone's name as their avi.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internal ticketing of day-to-day tasks for a team of over 30.

Easier to communicate with fellow teammates. Everyone can see in real time who's tackling what.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Bill based on read-only access vs user. We had a lot of teammates who just needed to view certain things but weren't active. But it became expensive for us so we had to eliminate some licenses.
