Wonderful for a flexible and responsive bug and task tracking database
What do you like best about the product?
It can be used for personal and business task tracking. It works well for bug tracking and sprint planning as well and makes it easy to outline goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a slight learning curve in the beginning that was easily overcome. Features for QA and bug tracking could be more comprehensive as seen with RallyDev, but nothing that can't be overcome with supplemental application support w/ Google Docs and the like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is wonderful because it can be used for personal task tracking as well as business tracking. It was effective in tracking both bugs, sprint progress, and sprint task. Communication and tagging other users is made easy through Asana. It's easy to organize things the way you want them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is an excellent tool for small scale project management and can also be used for personal goal tracking.
Good for Group Work--Bad for Calendaring
What do you like best about the product?
I like the interface--I like the ability to create and assign tasks & the flexibility to edit the tasks after their supposed completion date--like passing them off to other team members or giving yourself a followup or additional task to complete in order to finish a task.
I also like the ability to write notes to team members on tasks.
This is really a perfect application to use for group work.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wanted an easier way to create a group calendar that would allow all of the members of the team to add and see what the whole team has going on. It was hard and a little confusing to add already existing calendars from other applications into the system & it was a little buggy. We also didn't get notifications about the calendar as we did with the tasks.
Also--There is in INSANE amount of notification emails. It is adjustable-- but the default is getting mulitple emails a day.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We tried to use this application to create a singular cohesive calendar that is shared by multiple team members with different meetings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great application to communicate with team members while working on tasks toward a single or multiple goals.
Asana
What do you like best about the product?
Multiple people can view it and comment on projects
What do you dislike about the product?
learning curve to understand all features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems were really about seeing where everyone is at with projects or to-do lists. It's helpful when dealing with student workers who may need more check-ins than professionals.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool - just takes some time getting used too. It was nice to be able to give feedback when someone completed a task or to see where they still were with it.
Affordable Project Management - Great for Big Teams
What do you like best about the product?
The Interface is designed well. I would buy in better if the UX was as good as the UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
The User Experience is not there for small teams. I you're a large team where individuals are very niche, this is probably a great product; but if you're a small team where most of you facilitate a handful of roles, you're likely not going to see a great benefit. You'd be better off with a ticket system, or basecamp.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When working with multiple small teams it can be helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're a large team needing a PM solution, and use Gsuite, it will be a great experience.
Keeps me organized
What do you like best about the product?
The encouragements when you finish a task are fun and I love the gant chart. Used to make these with post its on the wall- having it in a software is exactly what I wanted. I like the option to have the sticky notes visual as well as just a list
What do you dislike about the product?
Most is self explanatory but a few features harder to figure out, like the documents / files.
Dont like that other users can take a task from you and assign it to themselves without permission. When working quickly on a project with a lot of tasks and a lot of peoplre, this has caused two people to work on a task at the same time on more than one occasion.

staying organized, keep track of what needs to be done, delegating tasks, working on projects as a group. Nice to be able to save a workflow and copy for future use. So easy to mark a task as complete and send it along to the next person in the work flow or reassign to someone else. Nice to keep projects separate by department too
Recommendations to others considering the product:
super easy to use and for each person to customize to see tasks laid out in a way that is helpful to them.
Easily allows a project to move along from one person to the next with out the need for emails.
Keeps you motivated by encouraging you when you finish a task

Excellent Software for Task Management
What do you like best about the product?
This software has really helped me keep task management on track. I use the task and sub task options to create a WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for projects. This software has many options and is very robust. I especially like the mobile app.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve when getting started because there are many options. It can be a little confusing but once I got going it all made sense.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used this software to organize some internal projects and keep tasks straight.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are many options with this software so know what you want to get done before trying it out.
Easy to use, but cumbersome at times.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to assign tasks to members of your team. You can also use it for different projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
If not all members of your team check off their tasks, it is hard to keep up with what is done (though this is more of a user error, not an issue with the platform itself)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use to it keep track of projects and the work being done. We bill clients so it is "proof" of work completed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure all members of your company are on board to use this. The struggle at our company is that only some people track their work on Asana, which creates problems in trying to figure out what is done.
Powerful project management
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is incredibly feature rich at the enterprise level- almost too many features!
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s a ton of usability in Asana but the learning curve can be steep. Adoption can be low.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cross team collaboration is much easier and communicating statuses on projects has eliminated many useless meetings.
Asana is my personal and business to-do and project and task manager
What do you like best about the product?
I love how clean, minimalistic and simple the user interface is. It loads quickly when I click on the app to add in any items. It was this app that made me fall in love with the peachy color scheme.
What do you dislike about the product?
Usually my Asana to-do list is extremely long and I often have due dates attached to them. Even when items are past due, they still sit at the very bottom of my to-do list and I never get to them. If there was some sort of visual way of prioritizing my deadlines (or at least bring them to the top of the list), that may be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can assign tasks to my co-workers. I used to work as an Executive Assistant and was told that if things were not on Asana, consider that task never done just like if a meeting isn't scheduled into Google calendar, then that meeting will never happen. When it becomes part of our day to day workflow, we all depend on it and can't imagine using any other tool.
Great for all tech abilities
What do you like best about the product?
This product is great for people with little online task mangament experience and for people with immense experience
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the premium features seem essential to proficient task management and yet they're inaccessible to orgs who can't afford premium
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recurring task were the most innovative space we we're managing with Asana
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're new to task management or using an online platform to do so, start simple. Asana can get really complicated really quickly, which is useful once you've familiarized yourself with the system, but this can be overwhelming at first.
