Asana keeps my team on track!

  • November 29, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It makes it easy to create separate project-specific tasks lists. We also can easily see a big picture overview of works in progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that team members can't sign up using their personal emails. Having to use a branded email means I sometimes miss updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving timing and organizational issues. Having this software keeps everyone on track to complete projects on time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a plan in place for how to implement it in your organizational structure.

I would recommend Asana for smaller workspaces

  • November 29, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's multi-functional and multiple teams can use it to collaborate and stay in touch on projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't offer any functions for time-managing projects within the app. You have to integrate from a third party such as Toggl. It also offers no project request filter for outside users, making it difficult to use for larger corporations. For example, our team currently uses a Qualtrics survey for outside users to fill in the gap, but between having to integrate this system and also Toggl, it starts getting messy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving the act of having to sift through 600,000 emails every day for requests and project management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend for individual teams and smaller businesses, but not the best fit for global operations.

Asana Review

  • November 29, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about using Asana is that I can have multiple projects. I use it with our marketing team to collaborate projects with them, and then I can have my own work projects aside from that. I also am able to use it in my personal life to manage day to day tasks and I can add users to task lists if necessary. It is easy to follow and easy to use, and simplicity is what I live by so its a great product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I probably would not be using Asana if I disliked anything that much, the only thing that I wish was a little better is if there is a recurring tasks, any notes from the previous task get wiped out, so I can never mark any tasks as complete if I want to see them for every day use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problems that I am solving are many, I wear many hats with what I do, I manage our customer support, communications with our marketing team, social media, brand advocate outreach, operations, payment processing and many more. Asana has helped me keep everything together in an organized way that I was not able to before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out, they have a free product so use that for a while and see if it is helpful or useful to you!

Asana usage for marketing startup

  • November 29, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that you are able to make lists and assign tasks to different members within the team. I also love that Asana congratulates you when you complete tasks! It's a great way to keep myself on track. Asana emails you your daily tasks and things that are over due so you rarely miss anything. The comment feature is also very nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think a big problem we had is people tend to ignore their tasks and disable email notifications. Not everyone would get on board with using the program because it's not super easy to set up. A lot of the functions could be more clear and user friendly. It takes a while to work with and get to know, and could be simplified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall we try to use it to make to do lists for projects and clients and assign them to the team. It's great if one person is monitoring the project and completion of tasks but people left to their own devices often delete the email reminders and resort to going back to their old way of doing things.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have the whole team get on board and make sure they are checking it everyday and on top of due dates. Use team meetings to update and reorganize/check off new and old tasks. Make it a point to make it part of regular use or it will not be effective for your team. Have someone dedicate time to go through every feature and try it out and teach you in a way that makes sense for your business! This would have helped us tremendously.

Asana is intuitive, easy and my favorite project management system!

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I always receive email alerts as jobs are posted, closed out, as tasks are completed, when deadlines are, etc. They serve as great reminders so that nothing slips through the cracks!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when I was first using the software I had to remember to add people to the job, project, task, etc. and sometimes I would forget they wouldn't send alerts until the person was added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of having different communications in different places. Asana serves as a great centralized place, especially if you are looking to communicate with clients and have them view projects all in one place! Instead of everything being via email, Asana provides a reliable "home base" where everything is stored, shared, approved, etc. by many different parties.

Best cost effective team menagement product with awesome UX

  • November 26, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Increadiably intuitive and easy to use. Good integrations with e-mails and privacy options - all free for a team of 15! I enjoy their product roadmap as well - latest 'boards' feature integration allow to use Asana for multi-user task streamlining. Team calendar is another handy feature - I can see where is an opportunity to add a task to a team member.
I have been using this product for the last 3 years and don't have any need to look else where.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think good addition would be to add dependencies feature ( just like Zoho) and more visualisation to reporting. I am definitely missing good old gant charts! Right now to analyse my bottlenecks I export all projects in excell and go from there. Any features supporting time sheets would be an advantage - currently for potential time-wasting tasks we tag hours and after exporting into spreadsheets can add or analyse.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing tasks and processes between 3 teams plus externals.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before training your team take your time to think how you can us Asana features like tag in, liking etc. create a protocol. If everyone using the product in the same way you can get decent analytics and reporting from your spreadsheets

Great resource for team planning and building

  • November 25, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can have team and individual organization rolled all into one. This really is the "do all" tool in that we can assign and check off tasks, build plans and share links and ideas all in one place. Since I work with a remote team this kind of platform is invaluable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing particular, at the moment but I think if I had to say one thing it would be that the notifications are a bit heavy. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes having notification in your email, inbox logging on and calendar can feel a bit much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Publishing, marketing, sales and team building. I love that tasks can easily be shared and delegated in one space that's easy to understand and navigate. The overall structure of Asana is a great resource to have and I'm very happy to have it as an integral part of our team work and building strategies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool for a remote team but it's important to keep everything up to date and organized. Asana helps on this, but it's still important to remember that you have to also do your part as individual workers.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that my supervisor can send me task, I can add my own tasks, recurring tasks are an option, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the user interface is not straight forward and intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of the progress of requests and recurring tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great software to try out since it allows for free usage with very little limitation if you use a free account.

Easy tracking tool to keep tasks organized with a group or company.

  • November 22, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a board member on a User Group (treasurer), we use Asana for tracking tasks and meeting deadlines. It is extremely helpful to be able to detail out what expected of each member along with how far they are to completing that task especially because we all work remotely across the United States. It allows me to keep myself up to date on due dates and its nice to be able to use this on the mobile device and access it at anytime.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of right now, there is nothing I have used that isn't a good fit or need to what I want. My own personal company is looking into Asana though, so I will continue to keep using it for the User Group, in hopes to transfer it to my current company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User interaction that is face to face is not an option for my use for Asana. I am a board member on a User Group we rely on technology to keep us on track and as a communication tool. Being able to chat with people via a conversation inside Asana is extremely helpful, especically for those that have restrictions on chat features or chat features are only for internal employees; in my case, we all work for different companies, so we love this feature.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a tool that is easy to use, accessible for small groups (even those working remotely or in person), this is something that will help you stay on track and help you complete tasks in a timely manner. It is also a plus that this is mobile friendly for when you are out of the office.

Checks and balances without a million emails

  • November 22, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Gorgeous design and it is intuitive to use. My team uses Asana to organize our design and requirements tasks for Ads. Additionally I use Asana to keep track of my daily to-do's.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can get out of hand, and fast, when others are using the software incorrectly and/or assigning tasks that are not connected to a specific project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connects teams and keeps creative in one spot
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure everyone who is using it understands it or else it wont be as effective as it can be.
