The Greatest Project Management Platform

  • January 23, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Asana the team integration ability. I have virtually removed all unnecessary email correspondence and moved everything over to Asana so that no one can fear missed communication.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the inability to set priority levels to tasks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving automation and growth issues with Asana. As we add team members, we are able to onboard them to projects much easier than without Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are the type to try before buying, then sign up for the free user account! You can have up to 15 team members in a free account

Couldn't be easier!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it so simple to break down projects into smaller tasks, assign them importance, and delegate them to a specific person. It's extremely intuitive and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little annoying to edit tasks or projects when you need to change deadlines or assignees. I worked in a slightly more free-flowing office and the rigidity of Asana deadlines was a constant stress. I had to go in and edit deadlines so often. This software is best-suited to environments that REQUIRE hard deadlines. If you anticipate ambiguous or flowing deadlines, Asana notifications can get old fast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Asana to keep projects on track and to ensure that all team members were accountable and on-schedule for their components. It was extremely useful for time-sensitive projects where other team members were waiting on other people to finish a part. If you work in a field where one person is relying on another person to finish something, Asana is invaluable to keep everyone working hard and fast.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is best for those that :
have hard set deadlines
have large projects where each component or team relies on the previous step to be done on time
need to keep team members accountable

Great options, but free versions is limited

What do you like best about the product?
The Dashboard is a fantastic way to review all projects and task. The built in integrations were nice, especially Google calendar. Having a place to view and share all files from a project speeds up the workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be nice to be able to customize the dashboard more to show exactly what you need. Would like more options to show the progress of a project. Free version is limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A centralized place for everyone to be up to date with the status of marketing projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great and includes almost every feature you would need if you are willing to pay a monthly subscription. There is a steep learning curve though.

It works.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can move things around quickly between sections making showing project managers that projects are ready for internal feedback so much quicker. I like that all the files in a task stay at the top.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that hitting enter to make a comment doesn't actually submit the comment. I don't like that sub tasks get lost and forgotten about. I don't like that there is no reminders for when a project is coming due.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task and project management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try basecamp as well and see what you like best.

It keeps things moving

  • January 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the quick communication the interface can convey between two people on a team. There's no guesswork involved with how far along a project is anymore. I don't have to turn around and say "hey bob? Where are you at on this?"
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a few more features. For example, when someone completes a task and I get notified in my email, the email doesn't tell me which project it was from. It gives the name of the task and that's it! All of our project has a final "Send Out to Client" task which means the project is complete. However, if I get 3 "Send Out to Client" notifications I have no idea which projects just got completed without asking my fellow co-workers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By far the best problem we're solving is figuring out where are projects are at in real time. This enables us to notify our client if we'll be finishing something early or late. We also can figure out who needs to step up their game to get the project moving along seamlessly.

Great for task management in teams

  • January 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to make tasks, attach items related to the task, @mention people, use a kanban board, and keep it as a source for where specific tasks are in development. I like the keyboard shortcuts too.
What do you dislike about the product?
It actually took a little while to get used to how flexible it is. It almost felt too open and empty when I first started using it because it can do so much but after you learn how it's used I appreciated the flexibility
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product development/Feature development. I also use a single private project for keeping longer-term tasks in my brain
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's nice and lightweight but still has good functionality for managing communication of tasks in an org.

Easy app for organizing tasks!

  • January 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love how user friendly this program is. I keep a tab pinned for Asana and every day before starting my work, I check my task list. I can easily change the tasks or assign them to other co-workers. It is simple to use and easy to train others to use as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could sync it with my Google calendar. It would be easier to manage tasks that way. I'm always juggling back and forth to make sure I'm keeping up with upcoming meetings and events while also looking at my task list on Asana. Asana's calendar is alright but I like how I can connect my Google calendar with my phone and be alerted (and have all of my co-workers who are not apart of Asana alerted as well).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time management has improved for everyone using Asana. It's easy to get them assigned and given a deadline to complete the tasks. Since the program priorities your deadlines for you, it's easy to organize the day.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to use it for your own organization and time management, great! I would say that it is better if you are apart of a team and wish to keep delegated tasks organized. It's helpful when the whole team is on the same program, but not necessary. It works for personal or team use. Easy way to keep up with all of your tasks!

Effective Planning App

  • January 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is like its name. Asana, which means 'EASY" in Hindi ....! It makes planning a breeze and very convenient. Sharing the plans is also very easy.
Reminders, setting timelines, wow, just love it.... and it is free. Attachments, timelines, calendar, to do list, collaboration, all in one place. And that makes it very special. I have been using this app for more than two years now. And, it is very awesome. Syncing calendar with other apps like google calendar is also very easy. You have everything in one place. No matter how many projects you working on, asana can handle all. And, its totally free to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface is bit less customizable for me. it should have more customizing options. I would have loved that. it feels monotonic sometimes. More colours, more backgrounds will make it very fun to use. More themes should be added to the app. interface could have been bit better But, nevertheless, the features it provide are quite powerful to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well, planning and sharing has become very easy. and we make sure we are on same page everytime, when we plan and execute. To Do list is very helpful and new calendar feature is quite advanced from other calendar apps. Attachments can be added with ease and different projects can be handled at same time. Timelines can be made. It help us in collaborating in very easy way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should definately give it a try.

Asana is very helpful at team collaboration and organising your own tasks.

  • January 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy, quick to setup, whether you have a large or smaller team. Asana can be very flexible, (pro version) you can organise and help your team managing tasks, workflows and set up re-curring tasks.. Very responsive tool to collaborate, upload docs to a task and add sub tasks, assign, comment etc. I also like seeing the tasks regrouped in one single page, so I know what needs my attention. Useful for coordinating and assign tasks to team members (pro version) whilst keeping an eye on them. I like that you can switch the feature "Remind me to update the status every Friday" on.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a few things I dislike - on Free version they advertise "Unlimited tasks, projects and conversations" you can assign it to others but you cannot review it after - as "Tasks I've Assigned to Others" are only available when paying for premium version. They should allow you to add at least one team member. Secondly, I'd like to see much better formatting options in the "description and comments boxes".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to track tasks and It has helped me stay organised and know what tasks i need to get done on a daily basis and keep my to do lists in one page.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Bear in mind I do like the tool, I think it has great features but also lack some vital ones. I.e: Sub- tasks labelling, chat during projects, and better Kanban boards...
You can use Asana for many things such campaign launches, team meetings and integrations, charts and more.
With that in mind I think Asana should not be called a complete project management tool. Asana can and will help you collaborate with your team and others to assign primary tasks but soon will become complicate if you are looking to add many hundred sub-tasks to your project.
However,I would say this - it should be considered one of the best collaboration and productivity apps in the market. I haven't followed them lately, so I don't know if they're looking to add new or improve existent features. Up to you to try it and see if the tool could be an ideal match for your business and/or team. Good luck!

Great project management and tracking program, but requires 100% attention from the team

  • January 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
For me, as a manager of a team with folks from multiple geographic locations, Asana helps to close some of the gaps of tracking daily activity, making sure we're constantly meeting deadlines, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with colleagues. It's a fantastic tool with a slick and user-friendly interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana doesn’t have all of the features necessary to effectively manage projects, teams, and individuals. Features like time tracking, workload reports, cost tracking, etc. Also, it requires full attention and maintenance from each member of the team. If there's a deadline in Asana and a user is avoiding it without updating comments, new deadlines, etc. - it makes the software pretty much useless to everyone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better tasks management across geographies and functions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dedication from your team is mandatory. Without it - you're going to fail with Asana.
