  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use. I also greatly appreciate the extraordinary customer service they provide. Our university has been using Kaltura for our content for a very long time, and the improvements they have made over time are greatly appreciated and work seamlessly with our LMS. Their customer service is always top-notch, and their experts make difficult tasks easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration of the Path videos was clunky but they are slowly making improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have video content that is always changing or there are minor tweaks that need to be made and Kaltura makes it easy to go directly to one place and replace a video without having to find everywhere the video might have been used to replace it! That single source of truth makes a huge difference in the work my team does.

Excellent Media Hosting platform with GREAT tools!

What do you like best about the product?
I love the platform's ease of use both as a creator at the university and as a manager working with our instructional designers and professors and providing access to all available when using Kaltura. The Blackboard integration is seamless, and they are consistently working with us to update the services. The PATH tool is a unique way to engage students with our video content, and the Kaltura quizzing feature is a great tool for knowledge checks throughout a course that ties directly to the grade book. I use it daily to review videos created by my team, and when I run into issues, the team at Kaltura always goes above and beyond to resolve the issues and get us back on track. Their customer service is extraordinary.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrating the PATH tool has had some hiccups along the way, but thanks to their extraordinary customer service, they have resolved them relatively quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The cloud storage solution for media content for our course is easy to use and works seamlessly with Blackboard.

Kaltura Video for Higher Education Video Needs

  • July 24, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Kaltura Video cloud is the ease with which it integrates with the LMS and Zoom. For example, integration within the rich content editor is so seamless. Added benefit is both the faculty and students have the same user experience when using My Media, video editing and embedding their videos into RCE. I call this uniform user experience a benefit because students do not have to look elsewhere for their video assignment needs. IN regards to Zoom, with the integration between our LMS, Zoom and Kaltura, the integration bewteen Kaltura and Canvas is 99% of the time reliable and seamless. When we selected Kaltura, few factors that helps our decision were the ease of use, seamless integration with Canvas LMS, affordable price, number of features, and customer support. Another best feature is the chat option with live customer support member. It saves time and frustration when we have the ability to talk to a live customer support team member to help resolve issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like any product, of course, there is room for improvement. One of the feature that is missing is the ability to add videos to Modules within Canvas LMS. Some faculty ask for the feature and we have give them a workaround. Another feature that sometimes has some glitches is the analytics and video quiz data, sometimes the data is not accurate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the problems we are able to solve with Kaltura Video Cloud is the storage. We are able to store our videos more, thus not having to pick and choose which videos to keep and which videos to delete to save space. This is a major benefit.

What do you like best about the product?
Kaltura Video Cloud is a solution for higher education institutions due to its ease of use, ability to integrate with Zoom and Canvas, and support. The features are also easy to navigate for all types of users, so anyone can upload or record a video and easily edit it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issues we have had with Kaltura are working within the LMS grade books. We are currently working with a Kalura engineer to address these issues. We would like to see the ability comment on live streams .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kaltura hosts all the recorded video and live-stream content at our University. It works well as we are able to integrate with our LMS so much of the recorded content for courses it able to be linked seamlessly.

Kaltura is and has always been the perfect media platform partner for a school

What do you like best about the product?
I've had the pleasure of helping maintain our College's relationship with Kaltura for well over 10 years. It's an extraordinary platform and a terrific company, and I must say that I've never been disappointed by their products or their support. That's saying a lot because I'm particular. :-)
As a College, our business is teaching and learning, not media, not media production, not distribution, but Kaltura, through the amazing, deep integrations they offer with several learning platforms, is a worthy, intuitive, powerful platform, well accepted by our faculty.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm unsure how to respond to this question- my experiences with Kaltura and the platform are overwhelmingly positive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A smooth, seemless integration of video in online course deliveries.
