Polarion engineering process and document management tool
What do you like best about the product?
clear stages and control of process and documents. visibility of status of any stage and document. Ability segment user levels.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit cumbersome to operate at times, due to the extent of controls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
engineering product development process and handling of design review stages. It has helped us to improve clarity in design reviews and reduce confusion, smoothing the process toward more orderly and effective development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For my purposes, I find it a useful tool that provides the appropriate scope of information on our process and elements of the process, and ability to comment int that process.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Polarion to import system and software requirement. Importing requirement from Excel and Word file is very convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tree structure and live status GUI can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for Tier 1 supplier in automotive industry. Working on multiple projects and traceability of work item is very beneficial
This is advanced ALM system.
What do you like best about the product?
this framework allow to optimize development processes across multiple projects and lifecycles. I am doing multiple projects and using this framework helps me a lot to leverage cross the projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes the format from MS office product is not properly pasted on the the web page in Polarion. I had to retype those contetns to avoid inconvenience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it is giving me to generate all relevent document , report, matrix without spending lots of time. it provides customization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
it is great tool/framework from small project/company to large. strongly recommned to use it, learning curve wouldn't bother you a lot. since the GUI is very tuitive.
this is a great tool, I have been using this tool since 2014, it is really great support for customization. so you can develop your own framework. and esepcailly data processing power is great. however, you will need to spend a bit of budget for better computing power to use the system fast enoguht to not get irriated by the slow response since most of web based system has such cons. more users requires better hw performance.

Great if set up correctly
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to customize and set up various workflows. Love the document storage so finding all related artifacts are easy and traceable. Lots of roles and security to make sure everyone has the right information at the right time.
What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One source of information, one source of truth. Meetings are easier and settings make prioritizing requirements and bugs easy and accountable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time with set up and hire a consultant to get it right the first time. Otherwise it will be an endless tangle of data.
Good software for project documentation, task/requirement

That it's easy to link documents and find related (parent/child) files

Not so much yet, I just started to use it

Putting together project requirements, tasks, and clarifying priority. The benefit is that we now have a common place to check out requirements of the product.

If you need a central location for your product requirements and prioritize tasks, this is good
Unique real ALM
What do you like best about the product?
Polarion is a great tool, very stable and configurable, easy to use and great for team's collaboration. I am using it since long time, before the Siemens acquisition, with enormous success in every cases. It has the "framework" approach, letting the admins configure it to cover almost everything you have in mind. I have experience with it and some customers that are using Polarion from requirement management to final delivery of physical object where Polarion were able to create the PDF for the transport documents for courier!
What do you dislike about the product?
Even if it is one of the best tool I ever used, what I personally love and also dislike in the same time is the backend, that is based on the Subversion. I love it because thanks to its nature Subversion saves everything in a real concrete storage, with no possibility of data loss. My personal dislike is based on the fact that even Subversion can store millions of revisions it is file based, so it may become quite slower than expected after some years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More or less everything: from Requirement management purposes to testing, from issue tracking to document management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Download and try it, with attention: Polarion is not immediate to use out of the box, due the nature of the tool it requires commitment.

Performance. Slow page loading. Wish this could be faster

Requirements management and change management
Polarion is robust and allows us to configure workflows/custom fields to meet our requirements
What do you like best about the product?
Polarion is customizable and gives requirements manager to customize workflows and create unique custom fields meet our company's requirements. Polarion's customer tech support is excellent!
What do you dislike about the product?
Polarion can sometimes run very slow on our company's virtual machine and migrating data and having it run on Polarion's cloud server is costly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Traceability and managing requirements/test cases.
